  1. I honestly expected this. They wouldn't just tell their business partners that there won't be any devices since those made big promises as well. But what really disappoints me is the information policy. They told us that there were more problems with the production, light leaks, shit like that. They had to knew that this would be coming out but they straightly lied to us again. And I also think that their preorders, motomod supporters and so on are more important than some resellers. They may feel different, but without all the community support and input they provided, the phone jus
  2. For me it's still very interesting to read, especially since it was shipped a short time ago.
  3. True! I remember using this with the Droid 4. So it's a software issue with the virtual keyboard. Thanks for clarifying!
  4. Curved screen: Is it possible to disable the touch area at the curves? How? Mushy camera button: It should be possible to enable a slight vibration when the first press is reached... Key functionality: Is [tab] recognized in Android? As far as I know and as far as virtual keyboards can do, only a space is inserted (instead of jumping to the next section): ' '.
  5. As anonim wrote, they would lend money themselves which is nothing special for a company (and not too hard at current times). And you are right - sending people their devices would be the best solution, but it just doesn't work out. I was very optimistic until december since there was some movement. But after getting told another time that there will be another delay (of course by a month), I just don't believe they will be able to ship all devices until Q2/2020. This is my opinion of course, but if it happens, many more will jump off the boat. If they want to get trusted again,
  6. If FxTec can afford this, it would be a good thing to refund all payments that aren't shipped and ask for payment two weeks before the actual shipping date. That way, they would release the pressure and nobody would be able to complain about the actual shipping. It could actually save some money since they won't have to ship from China then. Order numbers would stay the same, so first orders would get their phone first (or they ship them all at the same time). But currently there is just an angry mob that paid five months ago and get basically no information about whats happening.
  7. I see this as a simple way of researching for probable shipping dates. Every month we are told that all devices will be shipped by the end of the next month. In October it was the end of November, in November it was definitely before Christmas. In the latest mail they expect all devices to be shipped by the end of January. FxTec can't be trusted timewise, so it's our way of learning when (and which) devices are shipped. In opposite of the attitude of fxtec, I don't feel hate reading the numbers, I just change my expectations. Something that isn't really possible with FxTec timel
  8. I won't be a huge help. - Orderdate Mid-september - Ordernumber 38xxx - IGG coupon: no - Model: QWERTZ - Location: Germany - Day of payment: Start of october (first payment came back to me) - Stock assigned mail: LOL - Trankingnumber? LOL² - Phoine received Trololol
  9. You should be able to customize the preferred app to use. I'd say, the best way to do so is to install another camera app and press the button. A dropdown menu should open then...
  10. So you agree that FxTec can't be trusted. That means, we should all go for a refund. (who would pay 700€/$ to a company that can't be trusted?) If that's the way to go, the company will go bankrupt and nobody receives their phone. What you are doing is defending this misinformation and bad communication. If you talk about basic math but the support still tells me shipping is on Christmas, those must be lies. No, I don't accept that from a company and that's why I (and many others) criticise it. If we wouldn't but we would "leave the restaurant", they would probably learn
  11. To be honest, looking how the things go in the last weeks (and their communication after this bit of information), I'm not really sure about those 10-20% anymore. If you were lied one time, you won't believe it the second time. I don't think we were lied actively, at least not with bad will. But we were misinformed many times and this hasn't changed yet. The last time they said that the second batch will be sent out on mid-november. Then it was the 20th november and it was actually sent nine days later. Almost nobody got his device yet. The support also still talks about Ch
  12. F-keys should be possible with a remapped keyboard (like you mentioned with Fx+1 or ALT+1. You'd need to add two keys for F11 and F12 though. Esc key should work though, what else should the Esc key be used for if not for 'Escape'? I know it worked on the Droid 4 with that emulator and I don't remember changing anything. By the way, as far as I remember, you were able to overlay a keyboard in case you needed a missing key (like F12). I think you were even able to assign keys to in-app keys/functions, but it could also have been ingame settings.
  13. That emulator is great. I remember playing Age of Empires with Win 95 on my Droid 4. It was very slow, but a lot of fun. Also, it reminded me to my youth, when I got my first laptop and played AoE while driving home. Oh, the good old times.
  14. @kashif, @Hamradio Well, I can only tell you what the support wrote me. I also don't expect the device to ship by then (order number counts in my case since I ordered in september). But I could imagine that they want to finish one type of device (the qwertz version has less orders) to accelerate the entire production process. We will see what happens and I have no problem to wait until next year, although I'm open for surprises. Good luck for you two to receive the device soon.
  15. Actually, I was able to edit the code, but not the part that was below it. I can't even highlight it in the editor. It's probably because it isn't actually in the spoiler brackets, but it's displayed like that. Don't know if you understand what I mean...
  16. The support wrote me that being a QWERTZ customer (#38xxx), I can expect to get my phone before christmas, although they were more vague about it this time (which I prefer to high expectations). They are still trying to ship every device (including the QWERTY ones) before christmas, but I guess that won't be possible. However, it's rolling. I don't think we will get more delays in january, since the production capacity seems to be very high at the moment.
  17. I didn't. I tried two times (with new text, since I couldn't edit), the second time a part of text didn't include, so I'll let it like this. Maybe it's a large text thing or maybe because of the code section. I don't know, but it doesn't really matter either. It's better than before.
  18. Interestingly, it doesn't work in the preview, but it worked out in the original post. Thanks a lot! Also, it does some weird things like include text that isn't in the brackets of the spoiler. Can't be edited either. But it's better than before, so thanks again!
  19. I'd really like an "spoiler" option or automatically embedded/hidden code. There doesn't seem to be an option currently to hide big chunks of text (i.e. codes).
  20. As I've posted in the sticky key thread, you can remap each key for yourself. You probably need root to access the files (make a backup!) but that shouldn't be a problem. See here: For the sticky I've not yet a solution, but maybe we will find that out. Otherwise just test it out yourself. By the way, question mark could be handled like this '?', backslash is '\\' . You can also set multiple keys to give out the same character. This is done in the quoted keyboard as well (alt+slash = backslash, backslash = backslash).
  21. I recently found my old keymap files of the Droid 4. Those handle what characters are given out (i.e. o=o, alt+o = ö) and tell the keys how to behave. A lot of information is found at the link(s) EskeRahn provided, thanks for that! Here's the full keychar file, this is an alpha keyboard, so it should have a sticky behaviour for specific keys. However, I can't find proof in it. If somebody can provide me the keypad file(s) of the Pro 1, I could further look into it. https://source.android.com/devices/input/key-character-map-files (top section) helps you locate the file (in this case omap4
  22. Well, I wouldn't buy a phone with keys shifted outwards. So my solution would be to make it smaller to reach all keys without problems. I don't see that as offtopic.
  23. How well does thr Droid perform with everydays tasks? If I open Whatsapp (I have to) with the Moto G3 (similar, little better specs), it often takes 5-10 seconds to open. And except for Maps a calender (non-google, but probably with google framework/synchronisation) and a browser (hey there!), I use very few apps. LineageOS. How does it work out for you? Are you just that patient?
  24. I have big hands, so I'll probably be fine. But I think a smaller Pro 2 would be a good thing for many people. FxTec probably decided to go for 6" since it was hard to get the technology somewhere. Nobody would want to get a 5" phone with 1500mAh, many people would complain about a missing headphone jack. The stuff needs to fit somewhere and for the first device, this was probably their best choice. Also, the size makes the phone look slimmer... If all people got their devices, I'm sure FxTec will listen to us and see what their users would like in the next version.
  25. In the Droid 4 the button switches were one module which could be exchanged quite easily. However I would be surprised if it really was a hardware problem...
