  1. Oh, this is ssooo cool, I just wish I had my phone so I could start testing and playing! As always, thanks for all the hard work!
  2. Good verbiage "I expect, but don't guarantee." Finally they are starting to get it!
  3. If this is what you are doing, I have a suggestion that might be helpful. Stop hoping for info to come across these threads and just wait for official emails. It takes much less out of you and you'll always be updated before you get your phone. 😀
  4. I think it has to do with an understanding of the rigors of the manufacturing process, especially for startups. I don't have my phone, am in the back of the line, and am tired of the complaining too, and completely agree with EskeRahn's sentiment.
  5. I 100% concur with this statement.
  6. It wasn't so much a criticism as it was me trying to impart real world experiences aligning with their struggles. I was hoping it would be helpful for you to see things from their perspective. When I asked the question, I didn't mean only you, I meant you, as in the reader (all of us). I know your not the one trying to; however, it's a good idea to view this (and just about everything else in life) from multiple perspectives. I'm truly sorry you found my spouting unhelpful as my intent was for the exact opposite to occur.
  7. Oh right, absolutely! I meant it was a couple of guys who came up with the idea and started the ball rolling. Tired isn't a legitimate excuse for poor communication. Maybe I'll see what I can post to get them started. After all my (very wise) dad always said if you don't like something, don't just sit around and complain, get up and do something about it.
  8. By "short order" I meant f(x)tec got in over their heads very early on and haven't recovered from it yet. NOT that they were only in deep water for a short time period. I don't see how you are throwing away £660. I have personally witnessed a different company manufacture newly designed electronic devices to be shipped worldwide. I can promise you that everything that has happened with f(x)tec is par for the course! I agree they should have handled communication better than they have, and it comes across like they are being dishonest. However, I don't believe there is any dishonesty
  9. My wife uses an Android (I think Nougat) tablet for her work and it does the same thing with the WiFi adapter address. Completely crazy as it gets a different address every time it boots. I have our home LAN setup with a MAC white list (no this isn't the only security, lol, and I know it doesn't do much for someone in the know) so it was a pain in the butt as I had to make sure it had the same MAC every time to authenticate. These kinds of things can make a sane person crazy, lol.
  10. The Pro1 should work well with Verizon in most areas. It supports all of their current 2G/3G CDMA band classes (which is all scheduled to disappear by Jan 2021), and also all of Verizon's LTE bands except for 66. Right now band 66 is not in use much here in the US, but I have been told by a NOC engineer that will change rather quickly (in a year or so). Thus, if you want to be absolutely certain that the Pro1 will (currently) work in the areas which you plan on using it, go to a site like cellmapper and see which bands are in use in your area. As long as you see local LTE sites using 2
  11. Heat my rump! It's freezing to me, lol. I grew up out here and it's usually mid 70s (24 C) right now. Sometimes it's in the mid 80s (30 C) on Christmas. That's my kind of weather, none of this can't wear short sleeve shirts stuff that we have now!
  12. Cold for us, (mid to high 60s F (or 18 to 21 degrees C). Been raining on and off too, ugh. However, thankfully, we don't get any of that freezing white stuff falling from the sky! 🙂
  13. Come on now! That's only applies to the night of the 24th, and he's super busy that night without time for extra fraternizing.
  14. No guarantees though! This is similar to: use an IGG coupon and you'll be the first to get your phone. Although some things are a good idea, they just can't be guaranteed. 😀
  15. Now that would make for a wonderful time. Sadly, mine is across the pond on the west coast.
  16. Sounds like Saint Nick over at our place. While here he enjoys a fine cigar. 🙂
  17. If you truly did what I suggested you wouldn't be disappointed now as it's not June 2020 yet! 😉 All kidding aside, manufacturing a new hi-tech item such as this is a very long and arduous process. Their hopes were passed along as promises, which is a common pitfall for the naive. The good news is that it sounds like more phones will be shipping soon. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's a large batch (and plan on June 2020 😉).
  18. Lots of good information in this post. Let's recap: 1) They got in over their heads and are struggling to recover as quickly as possible 2) They were hoping to get your phone in your hands by December 10th (doubtful, but possible) 3) They adjusted the time to: expected to ship by December 13th Ok, so sounds to me like you are on track to receive a phone sometime this month or next month. As I see it, all is well for a startup trying to pull off a feat as incredible as the one they have tackled.
  19. Here's a friendly tip... Plan on June 2020 and be pleasantly surprised when it arrives before then.
  20. Right, and with so much yet to be done, this is not something that, at this point, should be given any priority.
