Okay, so it has been about a week with my Pro1. Software I decided to go with LineageOS, because it seems that it will be updated more frequently. LineageOS on the Pro1 works perfect, no unexpected shutdowns or crashes. Using keyboard shortcuts and arrow keys to scroll (especially with the modifier to scroll to top/bottom or ctrl-tab to switch tabs) in Chrome just feels so right. I am waiting for the Vimium Firefox extension to be compatible with Android to enjoy browsing with vim mapping. I use most applications in the Terminal (Termux), for example vim for coding or aerc to e6 points

I have also this with fingerprint, feels like its random. Any solutions? Have my ProΒΉ as daily driver for couple of days now, coming from Symbian, Maemo, Meego, Sailfish. So lot to learn with this Android/Lineage. Gonna donate to @tdm for his awesome work4 points

Nope, no S/N number on the box. There is a serial number on the device, though it isn't the same as on the sticker. The sticker serial number is actually a number that identifies either what sequence the device is in manufacturing or in assignment to shipping. There is no consequence of not having it that I can tell and curiously, I have been told F(x) Tec has no means of retrieving that number. I asked. Which means they make no record of device numbers and who they are assigned to. I don't believe you need that number for any warranty issues. I don't have mine-- it wore off bef2 points

Ended up going the same route as @Hook and it makes the phone way less slippery and looks pretty good IMO. Ordered this skin for the Note 10. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z7CGZ87?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Had to trim off a little on the right edge and connect the mic hole to the camera hole.2 points

Looks like it solved the "problem". These sub, sub , more sub menus π§ Sitting by the computer now and gonna send some beer money π» Only thing I miss now is support fot full Finnish/Swedish keyboard layout (swdish and finnish has the same). Cant find @ on the keyboard, have to use virtual keyboard for that. Thanks mate π1 point

I've noticed that too, but not sure when exactly that happens.1 point

If it's not outlined, its the same procedure as installing gapps. Reboot to recovery (I do so from restart menu, theres a setting to enable the advanced restart menu), select apply update, and adb sideload either lineagesu or magisk. If you're starting with installing lineage, after sideloading lineage in recovery, you select advanced reboot to recovery, then sideload su and/or gapps.1 point

Yep. It seems it's a hardware build flaw and it tends to get loose for me when I open the HW keyboard forcefully. I've been opening it gently ever since.1 point

Well. Congratulations. It worked. When I pressed, there was a snap noise. Now call volume is working again. This forum and its members are brillant.1 point

Hey folks, I finally got mine about a week ago (after 11 months). Great phone, just not what I need, and am going back to my galaxy S8. Ebay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/F-x-tec-Pro-1-128GB-Unlocked-Dual-SIM-Physical-Keyboard-phone-slider-Qwerty/283978267834 I thought I'd post it in here, in case anyone wanted one sooner, etc. It's been opened and turned on by me, but factory reset after I spent about an hour checking it out. All accessories still in box, and looks like new.1 point

Have you tried applying some pressure to the earpiece? It's basically a small speaker that sits in the frame. If I recall correctly they work on pressure contact. It could be possible the pins do not bend as well as they should (like a spring action). Applying some pressure could restore the contacts briefly. Then it would be a relatively easy fix. Either contact support and wait for a new screen, or open it up and re-shape those pins. Worth a try I would think.1 point

Just awaiting another freebie to arrive from Wish π. Will post pics when it arrives, depending whether the Pro1 fits.1 point

Well, I finally caved in and stopped the 2 wireless update processes yesterday, after sitting and watching the battery drain at 1% per minute, while the charger was plugged in. π₯Ίπ₯ Just did a check for updates and lo and behold the battery began draining again until I stopped the update processes again.1 point

I've just spent a whole day with the Pro1, and overall, I love the device. Here are some of my thoughts and issues. It's a thicc boi! But I'm ok with that because it feels really solid in hand. Keyboard opening clack is so satisfactory. Holding Shift + alphabet keys on the physical kb doesn't capitalise. I have to toggle Caps Lock on/off for capitalisation which is slower and inconvenient. Key modifiers really need to be sticky. I'm using the Swype + Dragon virtual keyboard which doesn't seem to play nice with the physical keyboard open. If I tap to focus in a text inp1 point

Found a solution: Go to Bluetooth settings Go to used devices or available media devices Go to individual device's settings Uncheck HD-Audio And yes, it works! Likely the speakers are too old to handle the HD-Audio and there is no automatic stepdown.1 point

Odds that this would ever be fixed on stock are slim to none. Odds that it works properly in LineageOS are fairly high.1 point

Yes it is disappointing. I am wondering if the clip has actually broken and why its so loose in that area. I'm not disassembling to find out though!1 point

Nice. There actually isn't a screw there, it's just clips holding it in place. Had discussions about this in Discord a while back with @netman who can shed some more light on the hardware assembly. Mine still comes loose when I open the hardware keyboard very quickly with a loud snap, so I still have to treat it with gentle hands. The good thing is that any time it comes loose, I can easily snap it back in, but I still maintain that it's rather disappointing flaw considering how much the device costs.1 point

So if the phone is squeezed with keyboard closed, it registers a keypress, and wakes up. I believe this has been mentioned before, just noticed it myself now. So it may be good idea to turn off/ignore keyboard when closed.1 point
