  1. I received a new one today and I can confirm, it was the keyboard cause the new one all keys are working... Before swapping to LineageOs, I'll perform ALL the factory test!!! Everything work now.. I should to restart from scratch and cross fingers and toes, that everything will still working at the end!!!

  2. Easiest I found to work with regarding cutting is getting a 0.5mm soft silicone case (P20 Pro). If you have a bench press and some hard (or sharpened) shapes for the holes then you can do a very clean work.

  3. In my case the spontaneous reboot were due to the poor WiFi connection in one room of my flat. I do not experience spontaneous reboot since I installed an additional WiFi acces point in the flat.

  4. Thanks, yeah installing LineageOS + addonsu at the same time using adb + fastboot as specified in the wiki looks like a winner 🙂

  6. The steps in the Lineage Wiki are what I followed and didn't run into any issues. I'd start here Lineage Install Wiki

  7. That is an easier option that would be less destructive to my network setup, but might prevent me from doing certain things, e.g. use Google Home (devices need to be on same network). It would also be difficult to know if it actually helps, since the reboot behavior seems to be random. If I try it for a week, how do I know that on day 8 it wouldn't have rebooted?

  8. Considering that when I emailed them about it, their response was basically "might be a bad app, do a reset," I don't have high confidence that low-level network issues are on their radar. If I did this test, who would I tell? Is someone officially aware of this issue? Do they have an internal development ticket open? Are they collecting data? This is not a new issue, as can be seen by this thread. If they were aware, they would have said something I would think. You're suggesting I do their QA for them, just to have a data point that might be useful down the road, to somebody, if/when they ge

  9. You do not need a sim to do emergency calls. And I did disconnect immediately when I accidentally triggered it - and yet got contacted to assure that I was OK....

  10. I installed the app, it's working great. It disables unlocking the phone using your finger, but doesn't change anything else. Googles smart unlock e.g. using a bluetooth device is still working.

  11. An interesting theory if SON is triggering this bug! Could you (temporarily) set them as two independent networks, and see if the Pro1 can work with both without the random boots? And if that works double check that the bug reappears by setting your router back to using SON.

  12. So it's a massive software failure in stock. I'm a Google Pay user so non-stock is not an option at this point.

  13. I actually got a new router recently that improved my coverage. The only thing I can think of is that the new router utilizes SON (Self-Organizing Networking), which silently switches connected WiFi devices between 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz on the same SSID, might be confusing the Pro1. But still, if that's the case, that is a massive software failure. None of my other devices experience this. With the Pro1, I go for days without issues, and then one day the phone will reboot 3-4 times in the same day, and then it's fine again for awhile.

  14. On stock this (still) requires you to be careful how you grab the device, to avoid accidental triggering, and the annoying "Too many retries". OR on the contrary be sure to register the fingerprint of the finger touching when grabbing to deliberately unlock when picking it up from the table/pocket. It should be said that this problem is in reality eliminated if you use some sort of case. And 100% eliminated if a flip case opening to the right behind the screen is used ('Japanese' style book).

  15. It is simpler to just add some pieces of 0.5-1mm thick adhesive rubber/felt without removing anything.

  16. That's the infamous rattle. For many of us that's how it is. Remove the stickers protecting the screws at the back of the screen and replace them with 2mm thick squishy ones that should help a lot. See: I actually have all 5 screws on the edge fitted with 2mm squishy pads. The one in the middle are just 1mm solid rubber but I wonder if having the 2mm there too would be even better.

  17. Interesting. Though my experience with the stiff types are a poor fit. The reason is that the back of the Pro1 is not just flat but slanted towards the sides.

  18. Two things to try. Press the top and bottom of the screen and see if something snaps into place. Then check behind the screen (with the keyboard out). Are any of the screws not tight? They are under black stickers, but if they aren't tight they are probably pressing up on the sticker.

  19. It may not be a solution you want to do, but as far as I can tell they don't happen on Lineage.

  21. Finally got it on Monday. Ukraine, Order #22933. But there is a problem. The phone does not feel solid ☹️ I do not know what to do. I do not want to wait for another year for replacement

  22. It would be great if it allowed to disable on lockscreen ONLY when display is off. So pressing power would activate the scanner. As Open source, I hope someone can make this mod!

  23. Yes there is! Problem solved (for me at least). I had the very same problem (continuous "too many attempts" warnings even caused hiccups for my banking app...) and I stumbled onto an excellent fix. Go to the Play Store and install the app Admin Control by Dave Hewitt. Very simple small app, totally free, no ads, doesn't use internet, open-source (Github). This app has just one on-off switch and what it does is very simple: it disables the fingerprint sensor JUST for the lock screen. Meaning that on a locked phone the fingerprint sensor is inactive, but once the phone is unlocked, the
