  1. Production does indeed seem to be starting...

  2. Be aware that, as part of its security concept, Android runs every app under a different UID. As a consequence, with an ext4 FS, data sharing across apps can be difficult unless they use the common GIDs (media_rw, etc.) foreseen to that effect. In the past, many people used FAT-formatted SD-cards to circumvent that restriction, taking advantage of the fact that FAT simply does not know about UNIX file permissions. I do not know if this affects your use case(s).

  3. That was my (attempted) point. That despite it is fairly easy to get the display it self, that does not in it self mean they can deliver the assembly in the perk. We have no idea what components/resources that are in shortest supply, but I would guess that they will prioritise to produce entire devices.

  4. For me, my attempt to use ext4 has caused serious trouble for some regular use cases, and some apps just didn't work anymore with their data configured to be stored on the SD card. Generally, and since one 512 MB card (Kingston "Canvas Go! Plus") actually did fail for me already, I'm now going for sensibly fast (and thus not the cheapest) Samsung or Sandisk cards...

  5. Thanks. I will wait a bit further till I have more time so I hope every potential problems reveal. 🙂 Anyway, how about further restrictions of SDCard access under Androdi 12?

  6. I would not trust IGG-campaign as a way to get parts. If FxTec support recommends to buy third party official screens it really does not strike confidence that those would be delivered anytime soon through the IGG. They would sell their parts through their official store if they were capable of doing so. At least that's my two cents.

  7. It's always hard to know, but right now they are still within the timeline of their last update. Even if they began SMT the same day they posted (probably not), that would take them out to the 24th and thus manufacturing might be beginning this week. So possible for shipping to start in mid-May as projected.

  8. Magisk 24.3 supports android 12 so i guess it should work all the same. One person in the discord alrready upgraded to OS19 with magisk.

  9. The new magisk is not any dumber that the old one. I am using magisk v24.3. Everyhting works the same that in the older versions, what is different is that the hide list is deny list and you need zygisk mode on and configuring the list is in the app settings, but the functionality is the same and if you have to use external modules like MagiskHidePropsConfig you need to download them manually but they work the same. So i have all the same banking apps still working that i had since magisk v20 ->. Edit: And there is no more the builtin safetynetcheck but there are various apps for that in

  10. No the Pro1 and Pro1X will not support 5G. It is anyone's guess if FxTec are planning some successor that do. I hope so, but will not hold my breath for it.
