  1. They did. I had anticipated when I sent my Pro1 in last December for repairs (touch didn't work at all even when I replaced the screen) that I would be waiting until manufacture of the Pro1x for spare parts to show up. I just received an email that my repair is done and my Pro1 will be on it's way to me shortly (was done as a warranty repair since I reported the problem 3 weeks before the end of my original 2 year warranty). Quite honestly, great customer service, even with the long (but anticipated) repair time. 👍

  2. No - it is related to the easier replacement if it is necessary. The silver tape is a bit different, it is an additional shielding.

  3. I'm definitely going to be using LineageOS, but my first thought is that I don't see any benefit to waiting vs requesting Android OS now just to have it on hand sooner (since I'm pretty confortable flashing it myself when the time comes). Though thinking on it a bit more, maybe I'll wait anyway. My Pro1 is doing the job just fine, and if I got it now it'll probably sit idle for a while winding down the warranty. Side note from a couple of updates ago; did anyone else who's replaced their Pro1 screen see the picture of all those black stickers and wish they could get a few spares?

  4. I just might be getting a little bit excited. As one of the Pro1 customers that still has an outstanding order I'm feeling some anticipation that my email inbox might see a note about shipment sometime soon.

  5. I have attached the actual data sheet for Pro1's touch controller (which also has register information) to this message. Registers 0x805B and 0x805C are still there. 🙂 GT928 Datashet English.pdf

  6. Yes, the "fabric" type silver tape. It conducts electricity - you may measure it using a multimeter. Basically this one.

  7. Anyway, I don't know this server's internal infrastructure, but doesn't it use a service provider in front of the real server? (Sometimes there is an error message when background server is not available.) So the address you see is not the address of the real server, however, outgoing mails (from forum) are another question, so they may simply use a service provider for this purpose... 🙂 ...okay, checked its last mail and it comes from something like sendgrid.net Anyway, @silversolver told he use an own server without excessive SPAM filtering, so most likely not the IP address is th

  8. Smoothly installed aicp_pro1_r-16.1-WEEKLY-20220525.zip on May 5 security patch and open_gapps-arm64-11.0-pico-20220503.zip using adb sideload Known keyboard bug still there (see lineage thread) Note that the signature when downloaded as a zip is not accepted, so the loader on the phone asks you "...install anyway?".

  10. Sounds like a good idea to me.. But as the correct glueing seems not to be super easy to do correctly, you might extend this servce to have people send in the top part - or the whole device. I think that is the reason why FxTec do not offer the display in it self but the whole top as a spare part, as this is easier to replace for the less tech experienced user.

  11. It should work for Pro1. These displays usually have some smaller or bigger black spots mostly at one or two corners, otherwise I have replaced my screen to one of them... three times. First was a short-life unit because of insufficient glue (only two-side glue what was provided), second last more than original and third is the current one...

  12. I tried that; several tries over a couple of days netted no response. 😞
