There isn't yet a Lineage version for the Pro1x. You'll have to wait for that. The version for the Pro1 will not work. You probably are aware of that, but wanted to make sure, not insult your intelligence. 😉

AFAIK the NFC Antenna is near the camera at the top - are you trying to read it there?

I ordered Pro¹X: 256Gb/8G black, qwerty, via web site at the 17 April 2021 with order number 58xxx . Yes, VoLTE. I've changed my phone's preferred network to LTE only, maybe like a year ago after AT&T kept sending out messages saying 3g was going away and my phone wouldn't work. I got lucky enough with a Super Early Bird 256GB with standard QWERTY in NE US. I have confirmation as of yesterday that I'm part of Batch 1 and should look for an email in the coming days and to keep an eye on that spam folder, but no emails yet.

Bought the original Pro1 in May or August of 2020. It obviously didn't ship, instead being upgraded to the Pro1-X, so I should be in the first batch. Still waiting on the shipping email. Any shipping email. Anything at all. Update 08/04/2022: Still waiting.

Regarding Ubuntu Touch as a phone, perhaps I can further specify that I do not expect to replace my existing phone, but instead to add to it. UT seems to me like a "linux tablet that also has a phone" experience. I'll customize it and see how it goes. I expect the Pro1X to be fun rather than utilitarian, and fun for me means experiments and breakage that won't fly for a primary communications device for someone with children.

Any chance they got their hands on a pre-production Pro1x and forgot to label the ROM properly. Lol

some oddities so far, but the most concerning is that the nfc reader does not appear to be working on Android. i have a yubikey for a lot of security items. I cannot get the phone to detect the yubikey. any ideas?

I had this problem. I found I was able to set everything up by doing it with no SD Card and no SIM Card installed. I set it up over wifi, then I installed my SIM Card and SD Card. Everything seemed to work fine after that. I've been using it fine for a few days, now.

Index of /uploads/pro1x/ubuntu-touch (robinkirkman.com) There are some bugs, such as shutdown through the gui not actually shutting it down. ("sudo shutdown -h -P now" works in a terminal) Also the keymap is not right; it seems to assume the mappings on a standard US-English keyboard; the labels on the Pro1X disagree with the characters typed in some cases; it seems that the Pro1X function key doesn't do anything, so it's not possible to type a blackslash (Fn+P). Everything works over ssh.
