Hi folks, I just started working on the mainline kernel a few days ago with ichernev and so far I've got USB and simplefb up and going, no button, storage or regulators yet.6 points

I got a tip on the Telegram beta channel to force the toggles to show in SIM setup via the following commands (requiring root): setprop persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr 1 setprop persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr 1 After entering those commands, and then enabling VoLTE on my primary SIM, it does appear to have registered properly to use VoLTE, and when I called into the phone, it did ring, did not change to "3G" on the network indicator, and did not lose connectivity. I'll let the phone sit overnight and we'll see in the morning if the problem is solved.2 points

Check the phone menu, which is found in android by typing *#*#4636#*#* on the phone keypad and then tapping phone 1. VoLTE toggles should be there. It's a question of are they greyed out or able to be set.2 points

Certainly agree VoLTE should be turned on. Curiously, I don't even get a toggle for that in the SIM settings for my primary SIM. I do see that toggle for my secondary SIM (which is a different provider), no matter which SIM slot that secondary SIM is installed in. I don't know whether the absence of the toggle means "always on, you have no choice", "VoLTE not available from this provider", or something entirely different.2 points

Indiegogo samples were only available as blue, but after the Pro1 X had become available through Fxtec's website as well, from there it also could (and can) be ordered in black.2 points

I have a very similar problem at home with my current Xiaomi device. But only at home. It works fine anywhere else. I will be curious if you try it elsewhere several times, then what will be the result. Regardless, I would try to turn on VoLTE.2 points

And here is postmarketOS booting to getty on the Pro1X. https://cdn.fosstodon.org/media_attachments/files/108/980/689/786/551/294/original/0791f254a0adf297.mp4 Nope, this is the Snapdragon 662 version of the Pro1X.2 points

I am receiving IGG udates (and I post it here if it is not already there) - my Pro1X order is already fulfilled, however, I have a separate "Enthusiast" order which has shortly disappeared from perks but it may happen that is the reason I am still receiving these updates.2 points

Are you sure the commands does not require the device to be rooted, or similar? PS, they can be entered with ADB shell: adb shell setprop persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable 1; setprop persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr 1; setprop persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr 1; setprop persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr 1 (from here) (If I run the commands on AICP on the Pro1 (non-x) they are accepted, but not on the other variants I tried it )1 point

It depends on what the problem is. At first, I would think the UFS / flash IC may failing which most probably means a mainboard repacement would be needed... or if not replacement, a replacement of a BGA part of the mainboard which does not seem to be an easy task if we are speaking about a replacement mainboard of Pro1. However, strange things may happen - I don't know how USB panel has caused unbootable phones (except triggering EDL mode by a failed connection), so who knows if it may cause other problems as well...1 point

If I have some time at some point, I will print it out of PLA. If it fits and it's good, I'll try it in elastic material.1 point

You can get the Pro1X with 128GB UFS/6GB RAM. Not to mention, this unit is a bit special because the chassis is not in blue, but rather the same color as the SDM835 Pro1 with XDA logo engraved and I did not pay for it.1 point

Joke aside, if they authorize you to send it in, you are likely to get it back within a month, depending mostly on how many other repairs they have. They have spare parts right now. if needed, so they will fix quickly and return. The first time I needed a repair on my Pro1, it was a month including travel to and from London (from US). Second time, I knew I had to wait months for parts, but when parts were available, they had repairs done in 2 weeks.1 point

I don't mean to make it a big deal. Aside from it always being posted here, I check IGG regularly. FxTec has more important things to worry about.1 point

Due to discovering that my old daily driver is actually physically falling apart, I've been trying to use the Pro1-X as my primary device for about a week, which means using Android for the moment, and I have found the same problems reported by many others in this thread: Sometimes it's fine, but much of the time, outgoing calls take 30 seconds to connect or do not connect at all, and most incoming calls receive a "number not reachable" error message. I've been playing around with the network settings a bit, and it seems that forcing certain modes will improve the success:failure ratio s1 point

I would gladly try that one. Thing is I can't find LOS 18.1 recovery boot.img anywhere. You specifically state that 19.1 won't work; could you perhaps up it to some google drive or whatnot?1 point

Okay, I guess it is just too long since I had stock Android on my Pro1. Sorry.1 point

Thank you all, I will attempt to try the measures that you suggested. It may take a couple of days to unravel it and I'll keep you posted (if only to report success, or I get mixed up again) I particularly take note of mosen's post as I very well may have mixed the Pro¹ and Pro¹-X up, in fact I didn't discern between the two at all. I just went to the box it came in and on the front of the quick start instructions I think that means I have Pro 1 x, but I've definitely not check whether I'm downloading the wrong thing or followed the instructions for wrong phone. From now on I'll1 point

https://www.printables.com/model/267403-fxtec-pro1x-case Feel free to let me know your thoughts, criticisms, tweaks. I'm already thinking it needs a bit more on top for screen protection. I've also done a template for cutting out screen protectors which I'll upload shortly. I haven't been able to find any that ship to Australia.1 point

I don't think the problem is that simple, as I'll lose connectivity whether or not calls are placed or received. When the phone is first booted up, or the SIM is otherwise reset, everything is generally fine for a while, and then I lose connectivity and the ability to make or receive calls, without moving the phone at all. I was earlier thinking that this issue was only related to phone calls, but now that I've disabled wifi, I see that I'm actually losing all mobile connectivity.0 points

Sadly the current beta seems no better. Even though the phone shows connected (actually even "LTE" now), with good signal strength, incoming calls are not arriving. This device is essentially unusable as a phone at present. Calls are clearly almost getting there, because when I dial in from another phone, "LTE" switches to "3G" on the Pro1-X, but nothing else happens, and the calling phone eventually gets "number not available".0 points

Nope, not in spam and email address hasn't changed. And I know we're not the only ones. 🙂0 points
