  1. Wow, who'd have thought. A replacement screen has been sent by F(x)Tec today (requested July 2021). Along with 'a complementary battery due to the inconveniences caused'.... Hopefully this screen, my third, will not develop the ghost touch issues of the first two. Otherwise, at least I'll be using my Pro 1 for another 9 months or so 🙂

  2. Due to the large inner display of the Fold 3, the keyboard can be emulated very large and clearly on the lower half of the screen. Probably even more comfortable than on the Fx Pro1. 😅

  3. Sorry for your experience. Mine arrived yesterday and it is indeed mine and works flawlessly. Have Lineage 19 flashed and rooted and restoring everything. 🙂

  4. I missed that topic this far! The below video shows 60 wpm/252 cpm, but I'm now about 10% faster. There seems to be a convergence to about 40-65 wpm here, which together with the accuracy (very little mistake rate) should be enough to convince people about how useful can a hardware thumb keyboard be; and that's without bringing screen estate and application/OS keybindings into the equation.

  5. You're a beast! I'm still stuck at 50WPM but I have been out of the game for a bit due to a dislocated thumb 😬 (no worries, it's fully recovered by now). For me what i'd call a "leasurely" pace would be 40-45WPM which I'm sure people can do on a touchscreen, but for me it's not even so much about speed, it's just way less frustrating and harsh on the fingers when there's some feedback rather than just hammering my thumbs on a pane of glass.

  6. So I just received 'my phone' a couple of minutes ago. This is my response to support: You have got to be F-ing kidding me... First of all, the phone I received is not mine. My phone was as brand new, mint condition, and... QWERTY. This phone has a few scratches, but even worse, is QWERTZ.But, the biggest problem is that the fingerprint reader becomes RED HOT during and after boot. So, I have turned it off. I tried booting it two times afterwards. The fingerprint reader gets so hot that it feels like you are being shocked. Please arrange for return of this phone to you and my phone to me.

  7. Wouldn't this be the time to start a new "Got Your Pro1-X, Tracking Number or "Stock Assigned" message? POST HERE!" thread?

  8. Two years later....BUMP! I guess this didn't happen, but if @Hyrum is still around, there are a lot of people who now own these things, and X variants heading out soon. Show of hands....who's still interested?

  9. I also think that the Pro1's opening mechanism is much more robust. However, let's be nice among keyboard-lovers and recognise that the AstroSlide will have the much better keyboard -- probably more or less identical to the one its precursors had. From all that I have read, it seems to be as close as you can get to a "real" 10-finger keyboard in a PDA. In all honesty, I find that the Pro1 is some "in-between" solution that seeks to be compatible with, both, thumb-typing as well as multi-finger operation (when the phone sits on a table). As a result, it fulfils both roles pretty badly

  10. Surely there must be a mistake here. Everyone knows that touch screens are every bit as fast as physical keyboards. That's why we don't need physical keyboard phones in the marketplace. They aren't any faster and they over-complicate things and make phones too thick and ugly. Nobody wants a physical keyboard on a phone. (extreme scarcasm mode re-disabled)
