Yeah, bluetooth has been useless for me on every community build I've used (Xperia and Gemini). I probably wasn't very clear in the phrasing of my reports. I was aware of the multiple partitions issue, but I haven't seen anyone mention that the real devices don't appear, which seems a bigger issue. Likewise, aware of the USB ssh, but I have no ssh via wifi either. (Kabouik reports it working via wifi a month ago on the issues list). Also hadn't seen any mention of the usb ip address being fixed, though I have a feeling I've seen it on one of the previous community builds.

A handy opportunity to repost the link, but you must see a different list to me? I deliberately didn't bother listing issues which I saw were already on that list (For clarity, on the ssh issue, I can't connect externally at all, not just via usb.)

Issues I've encountered so far :- Email account setup will not connect to any of my email servers, using any combination of settings I've tried. It seems that it never receives a response from the server, either via wifi or cellular network. I may try snooping with Wireshark later on to see what's happening. Many partitions show up in 'Storage', but neither of the SD cards I tried would work (128G and 64G). I will try a 32G card when I can find it - it's here somewhere, I used it for flashing yesterday! (Multiple partitions is already listed in open issues) Plugging a memory stick in

I had to use android long enough to figure out how to unlock the bootloader. That was bad enough to put me off for at least another decade. SFOS won't connect functionally to the Land Rover bluetooth. (As expected, no community edition for xperia or gemini has in the past, though the paid version always does) Otherwise it seems functional enough to be a daily driver so far. After all the 'discussions' of the last year, anyone else surprised at how the Pro doesn't feel like a big device? We've known the size and weight for a long time of course, but in the same way that some wat

I had fedex 'delivery scheduled' for next Tuesday. Checked tracking yesterday, showed the unit arriving in Japan. Got an email this morning 8am saying 'your delivery is on the van' (in the UK). Arrived by 10am Flashed SFOS by 11am Late for work - luckily I work for myself, so will give myself a stern talking to later on when I get a quiet moment. This evening I may buy myself a beer by way of an apology (QWERTY, order 48xx)

Assuming the spin and/or vagary is put on this and previous messages, I would apply an appropriate level of cynicism and assume that means this batch will bring the total units delivered will be 70% of pre-orders. (then I think we can each add our own personal error bars onto that figure )

Just remember "Function Delivery is key"

I find it perfectly believable. All it says is that is what they AIM to do. I AIM to lose weight, stop drinking and generally be a less cynical b*****d in 2020. The evidence of my last n decades on the planet is that this isn't going to happen either.
-
My guess is that the batch is so small that UPS lost it down the back of the sofa over the holidays.

Don't feel left out, I'm 4xxx, non-IGG and QWERTY and I haven't heard anything either

Jeez you guys are jonesing for this thing. I'm only an hour away by road from London and I make it a rule to never go there unless I'm being paid ... Now Munich on the other hand - I've had to work quite hard over the years to prevent several clients from figuring out they didn't really need to pay me extra to go there

What would you call them if they tell you something which they know is true, but which they also know will be misconstrued to mean something somewhat different? Politician? A batch of units has left the factory. That is all that we know. From Eriks post we may reasonably surmise that there are at least 3 phones in transit (since three distribution areas are mentioned). Any more than that would seem to be pure supposition on our part, though I think most here would agree we had been lied to if it proved to be the case. (For clarity, I'm not in any way suggesting this is the case,

Not me, RF hardware generally. I only write software to throw my mean callous, heartless exterior into sharp relief. (Or was that the poetry?)
-
Of course there was, to all those, and many more and worse situations. I haven't complained at all about late delivery, nor would I. Communications is a whole other topic though. A simple 'official' statement along the lines of 'batch no x has left the factory for shipment to customers, this will complete x% of preorders' is all that is really required. Statements of when it is hoped batches will leave serve little purpose, especially with no indication of the size of the batches, relative to number of outstanding preorders.

Over the last 30 years, yes, many times, amongst them at least 4 mobile phones, GSM and 3G, along with network infrastructure and many other things, in large and small teams, manufacturing in high and low volume. I can't recall one situation in all that time where making half promises to the customer and failing to meet it has ended well. What about you?

Until FxTec manage to deliver in quantity, this whole forum has pretty much nothing to discuss except how much and in what ways they are ****ing it up.
-
It often feels more like the end of the first tunnel joins the start of the first one, and the light at the end is the approaching train, going round, and round, and round ....
-
Presumably fx have decided its getting a bit quiet and dull, so they thought they'ed **** off their customers just a little bit more?

I remember a program manager at Siemens explaining in a meeting that the model numbering followed the Mercedes model, so there were C-class, M-class and S-class models. I asked if we should make an A class model with a rounded base so it would keep falling over - but it didn't get a laugh. (This was at the time of the gutter press trying to whip up a storm about the new A-Class Merc failing the 'elk avoidance' swerve test. Then at some later point, the A class phones appeared - with very rounded base

Sorry, but the Sony CM-DX1000 was the original Mars Bar phone (aka Siemens S4)

Ericsson EH237 (ETACS Analogue) Siemens S6 (DCS1800) --> Siemens S10 --> Siemens S25 --> Siemens C25 --> Siemens C26 --> Siemens S55 Nokia 8110 --> Nokia 8210 Palm Treo 600 --> Palm Treo 650 --> Palm Treo 680 Benefon ESC (First phone with a GPS!) HTC Tytn II (Utter PoS -threw it at a wall) Nokia N900 --> Jolla 1 --> Jolla C --> XperiaX (SFOS) --> Gemini (SFOS)(Briefly!) That turned into quite a long list, and I may have forgotten one or two along the way. I've usually had 2 phones on the go at any one time. All the Siemens phones except

From the quantity and quality of posts on the various general whining threads here and on t.m.o, I would have put money on the winning category being "~12"

I always keep my JollaC in a leather pouch from fitbag.de but it doesn't have any flap or closure as I think the OP wanted, it's just a thin snug fitting leather pouch with a suede type lining that keeps the screen clean, and prevents the pouch from slipping off. It's done a really good job protecting my JollaC since it was released. I've already taken a leap and had them make one for the Pro1. All I need now is a phone to put into it :-)
