They have obviously done a good effort to improve communications within what is possible for them at this time, and the second run will be smoother by learning from the first one. I'm pretty optimistic it'll come pretty soon.

With some hex editor magic we can get a sneak peak of the boot screen, it's beautiful :).

Well they're all hotdogs now here.

If i was as smart back when starting this thread... I actually downscaled some of them to fit more in a post xD

so smart to put all separate posts so he can get maximum likes per each person... i feel my position on the leaderboard is threatened

Recent tweet almost made me think that mockup was real, but it's just the lighting.

Since time of release is really near, I am wondering if @Waxberry has noticed @Hyrum (creator of the Game Gripper) attempting to contact him? I'm sure there are quite a few people who would love a Game Gripper for the Pro1 :).
-
They are separately registered I think, but same people yeah. At least they handled the failure very well, they refunded and compensated despite no obligations to it. And the problems that they had with modomod are much less of a risk this time around :).

This is pretty awesome! I had no idea of the existence of that Soiro phone, and always thought lauta was just a codename for n950... Thanks for showing this :). And damn, I'd really have liked a a PQ with the europe bands back when.

I am in the same camp, yet I am glad they made it as big as it is at the same time... It seems to be a good size, bigger screen is nicer but at some point it becomes inconvenient to handle so to me it makes sense to go for approx the maximum size that is practical.

Hmm the amount of money isn't neglegible to me, but I'm not gonna panic over it, I knew when joining a pre-order there are certain risks but getting the phone as fast as possible outweighs those in this case 😄. I'd be more worried if I didn't have a pre-order.
-
This should end this thread :D. As Kintaro Hattori said: "don't hurry, don't stop".
-
And they cancelled all their pre-orders... 🙄

Their communications could definitely improve, but there could be reasons this happens, i.e. internal communications quite suboptimal, simply having no idea what to do. People keep telling they'd be just happy if they were more clear but I don't really believe that even to be honest, if they tell they don't know people will be demanding to know, if they tell an exact date they will probably fail at predicting it as they depend on quite a few third parties (and people will be even more confused and upset). People want their phone now and there is no real thing to show yet so they're anxious, an

It's really quite common for startups (and even phone launches from big brands) to come waay later than they initially plan to ship. They've already manufactured a bunch of phones so it will go relatively fast now probably. Unless you have a personal reason to be in a hurry to get a phone I think the wait will be well worth it ultimately, don't let the peoples worry and complaints here be contagious :D.
-
The last news about 2nd batch is a reply on twitter saying it's less than a few weeks away, pretty much ready to ship to warehouses also.
-
Yep. For anything over a few words long I just wait until I get on a PC or laptop usually, avoiding the phone as much as possible. I have the autocorrect disabled but use suggestions a lot when on the phone, which works but the amount of errors made slows me down a lot, it angers me and slows me down every time an error happens and it happens a lot. There's no way around having tactile feedback before during and after keypresses to solve it.

I'm not too surprised but that works only if you are writing correct English and doing the predictive magic... And even then it's not only about speed, it's just frustrating to type on a piece of glass. But try to write code or enter commands and passwords and the likes on a virtual keyboard ouccchhh... If it is without autocorrection/prediction I'll eat my hat though, yet still ain't for me.
-
That's golden :D. Im sure nowadays touchscreens fare not much better. When our phones arrive we should all do typeracer.com matches :).
-
Hahaha, that'd be great yeah :D. The odd history is that I truely gave touchscreen slab typing a fair try to see if I could learn and get used to it, after hearing some peoples denial and confirmation bias motivated justification for no keys, but nonetheless... A regretable decision. Then later I did use an e72 for as long as I could get all my stuff done on symbian, gotten one of those over an e7 because i wanted like NO touchscreen atall. It was nice for a while but it gets hard to keep up and stuff kept breaking because it was too old (as in the other end of the internet the apps connect to

The N950 was a device only ever made as a development kit and not available for sale to the public, but being very beautiful it hasn't been forgotten. I believe it was one of the main inspirations for the Pro1.

everyone who is getting a pro1 is contributing to the betterment of this situation tho 🙂
