I have, like many here, already bought a whole bunch of Elephone U screen protectors so covering the screen won't be a problem for me, why not do that also? If you are really hard on your phones that Titan phone is probably worth considering also though. The Pro1 definitely wasn't meant to be a rugged and waterproof phone for harsh conditions, but most other aspects seem to be better than Titan.

On the NYC event someone asked the fxtec team whether the phone will come with a screen protector and was told no, I would guess this is correct even though not an official statement. (source and further info about questions collected in our little unofficial discord channel that were asked on that event: http://matland.be/fxqa/ ). Screen protectors meant for the Elephone U and Elephone U Pro will fit the device as that phone uses the same display (and touch digitizer / front glass assembly), these can be found on aliexpress, ebay, maybe amazon too. There are a lot of rumors and speculat

practice on the bed first i would say

A side note, I don't think many modern phones come with a manual atall, other than some warnings about how to charge and turn it on. I think they pretty much realize it's a waste of paper because nobody reads them and nowadays the software can change at any time via updates.

There is the risk that it's perceived as unfair if they did this.

Alternative OS availability, common entry

They are leaving the bootloader unlockable and have provided sailfish and lineage developers with pre-production units to help them already port their stuff to Pro1, that is not just "blah, blah". Warranty and guarantees about the functioning of the other OSes is something they understandably can not provide, but not actively fighting alternative systems is already way better than most phones you can buy. If you want you can see already work on sailfish happening: https://github.com/sailfish-on-fxtecpro1/ -
As usual with most modern phones the SoC (SD835, listed on the specs page) provides GPS: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-835-mobile-platform Why would you expect a manual to exist before the device is even released?

The idea is to keep the letter keys more centered to provide more comfortable typing, whether this is effective I can't comment on as I have not tried (sooon...). There is also the option for a German QWERTZ layout version, which does not have the letters shifted like this however I can imagine it being objectionable also to have not-quite-qwerty as a layout. It's possible more layouts will be available in the future, but the photos shown definitely should be the final layout for pre-orders as far as I know.

The link is most definitely broken, don't know what went wrong there xD. That's indeed the size of the item I tryed to link though, importantly one of the flattest options I found that would be able to supply the approx 100mW for more than a few seconds, many of them being longer cylinders with a small-ish diameter but still too fat to imagine fitting in a phone. Aside probably not being impossible to stuff in a phone, there are probably better options to find with a more exhaustive search/comparison.

I had not thought this trough and you're right it's pretty realistic, even say we want to use an ultracapcitor because batteries wear out fast... First options I found looked good until I realized the ESR was on the order of 50 ohms or so which would make efficiency absolutely pathetic to the point it would work for seconds at best. But with some parametric search magic some have rather spectacular specs: https://eu.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-BC-Components/MAL219691263E3 Looking in the datasheet we can see it'll store 52.5Ws of energy, or about 14.5mWh, which gives us about 7.4 minutes of

There's some PDAs and laptops back when that did this by having a backup battery for the RAM, even calculators today that still do it. My HP50g does that and so does my Tandy 102, I think it'd be a huge challenge to do the same with a phone that has a modern SoC though. The closest thing I can think of is thinkpads with the drive bay battery thing where you have two sizeable batteries you can swap individually.

3200 is plenty to last trough the day on an SD835 with average use, and the device is pretty fat as it is, keeping it somewhat sleek massively increases the target audience I do believe. There is no way they could get more in there without making the device thicker and heavier than is sensible. Most phones on the market that have a huge battery like > 5000mAh are weird quirky mediatek things like the ones put out by oukitel, they got their place but the audience is somewhat limited as more people want something that actually fits their pocket than there are that want phone to last all week

For non-EU customers it has risen a small amount, no? And i recall vaguely the EU price being up by 20 cents earlier.

Is this a real picture, or is it possible?
netman replied to enPfzr4v's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
It's a standard Android feature and you can test on any recent phone. They do not follow eachother and afaik you can not have the same app twice alas. -
Thanks! I will update the page to add this.

Over on the discord chat we made a team effort to collect people's questions there and ask them at the recent event in NYC. I've aggregated all the answers here: http://matland.be/fxqa/ Also there's some pictures and impressions :-).

It most definitely supports micro- SDHC and SDXC, that's the only way to support the claimed 2tb size. SDHC and SDXC are SD cards too, but not SDSC (aka "normal SD card" that goes up to 2gb only).

Wow! You can defeat average joe on an full size keyboard with that.

funny how it says FX, it was meant to be i guess :D

I just tried on my phone and if I login to the web gmail in the browser I can scroll down and click "Desktop" to get to the desktop version, however I couldn't get a right-click menu. Maybe with a bluetooth mouse? -
I think I also like the sound of 6" better, and we may be a majority... Those who are content don't feel a need to speak. Hmm I think many of us operate under the assumption pro1 is for a long time, and really want to have one at hand ALL the time. If one breaks and we have to wait for parts/service or gets lost it's not likely we can just walk into a store and buy backup pro1 same day (although it would be nice if they grew that big). Some here also seem to have since long time a couple of their favorite qwerty phone, so are in the habit of having multiple :D. An additional reason may b
