+1 I'd also be willing to pay extra for a phone with the changes Val describes, those would be high up on the want-list when a pro2 is on the horizon :).

For me also the price seems more than fair, companies like oneplus work with very small profit margins and sell huge volume, and they don't have a keyboard. This is for people that really need the keyboard rather than best specs per dollar eh :). The shutter button is also something pretty rare that does add some value, these things are for me all more important than what SoC it runs etc although I'm really happy it ain't mediatek. Some people are willing to throw over $1000 at a folding phone also while for me it just seems even worse than the normal ones that exist :D.

The specs do show dual sim to be planned, although one of the sim slots is shared with the microsd slot (so you can put either two sim cards or one sim and a microsd). Also the blog mentions other operating systems to be encouraged, so the bootloader most likely will not be locked :).

As for me I am happy if the battery can be replaced without dealing with adhesives all over the place, and i do agree rounded screen is not ideal but it does look nice... I'm sold either way.

When I click them they open embedded in the site and do not go to the time offset that's encoded in the link, could be a browser issue though.

Changing my display name to match does not seem to affect the menu alas. The website seems to hang together from wordpress and a few plugins so it is not hard to create a bit of a mess I guess. Hopefully over time it can be polished up a bit, but I'm assuming the team has their hands more than full with creating a phone :).

Yeah, it's quite confusing! I posted the link because i forgot how I even ended up there... Apparently it's down at the bottom of the page "my account". There's another distinct account settings page if you click the yellow F top left and then the gear icon and "my account" or the "my account" at the forum homepage at the top, which does not have this setting. Doesn't the avatar only come from connecting to facebook on the latter settings page?

I've just realized over here https://www.fxtec.com/my-account/edit-account/ you can change your display name in the forum, but not the username you login with. So that clears up why the name i thought i chose at signing up does show in the forums.

Lately i've been using my android only as a fancy camera and sending photos to people thing because i always get angry and dread typing more than a word or so with only a touchscreen. So I imagine myself using the pro1 to be able to message people comfortably and be able to look things up on the net and take notes (and photos) when at work as a technician. And I may even use it to take my programming hobby to the bed and couch occasionally if my thumbs can handle that :). It does not seem all that long ago I used my nokia e72 to message and ssh to my desktop pc and get some small things don

I'd rather have it be 14mm thick and have good battery life and structural integrity than take sacrifices too far. It's already very thin for packing a keyboard in there, and i've had not much problems carrying a fatter phone (19mm) on a daily basis.
