I don't think the logic in the order in which the stock assigned messages are sent within a batch has to follow the logic of the order in which stock is assigned. But then again, we've pretty much seen that there is no trivially deducible logic to either anyway. The country thing simply makes it even harder. I'd try to compare US only orders to see past it. If you want to try anyway: within the batch, not considering the country criterion, we can already remove date of payment, order number, and IGG status as the single factor for email delivery order.

Yes. The following phrase does indicate it: I totally agree that message's header is misleading,
-
Bear in mind that they used an IGG coupon. I believe that F(x)tec is ensuring that all IGG coupons are fulfilled in this batch, regardless of their order number and payment date.

More like a difference of perspective, I guess. It's not the first time we have this issue. They may be considering the devices as dispatched once they are no longer in their hand, which is definitely a valid definition. I also understood dispatch to be either sending to the customer directly, or to their regional warehouse, but that doesn't really make that much of a difference if the fulfillment warehouse does indeed send them on time (i.e. before the CNY).

I don't think you should start panicking before a few hours. The emails don't appear to all have been sent exactly at the same time (maybe to avoid spam filters?).
-
That's great, if it does not impede the opening/closing of the device. The look might not be perfect, but the shape appears to be doing its job. We can always make it be built using more professional tools for a fee*, that might improve on the aesthetics. I see at least one company offers to print in silicone, which is not easily available as a 3D printing material for most people. *Might be best to co-ordinate a printed case pre-order through F(x)tec, as I would expect those to be bought in bulks.

While the afternoon is indeed ending in Hong Kong, it's still the morning in the EU (and the UK). Depending on who sends the notifications, we might still have to wait for 10 hours or so before their work day is over. Also, come on, it's F(x)tec we're talking about here. There should still be at least a small 24h delay, to stay on brand.

Memory Cards. Recommendations and Suggestions.
Raksura replied to MickH's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Thanks, that's a nice summary. I am worried that none of these criteria appear to address sustainability. I would assume that unless a regulation is in place, manufacturers tagging their device with "Endurance" and such buzzwords provide no actual guaranties on how long the card will survive frequent writings over the same blocks (which its use as swap would imply). Are there specific things to look for when you want a card that will stand the test of time? I suspect that when they talk about video recording, they mean writing that is spread across the whole device: you basically never re -
I would recommend finding a flip case you like the look of, then. Do bear in mind that if you want to change the phone's positioning so that you don't end up with the flap toward yourself, you will use the flip case upside down, and that may degrade the aesthetics. Personally, I went for the case I've attached to this message. Looks good in theory, but since I am going to do the upside down thing, I'll have to cut open a little slit that will end up on the compass pattern (I think the hole for the notification led won't be, though). In addition, the little closing flap will end up being o

Indeed. In the meantime, you might want to use the "follow" functionality on the Erik and Waxberry accounts if you don't like sorting through the customers' messages to find updates.

This new artificial delay and all in one go strategy sound very much like backing yourself into a corner to me. Won't the amount of cancellations that will result from the next delay be much, much worse than it would otherwise have been if you were sending devices regularly?
-
It's like when you mention a pet, you can't just say that and not provide a picture.

I bought a pair of similar covers (just in case -no pun intended- I damage one while modifying it for the Pro1), still waiting on the phone and the leather piercing tools before I can start going at it. I am thinking of doing the same flipping of the internal holder, but I'll glue the whole thing to the leather instead of having half of it detached (and so I'll have to create a new hole for the camera on the leather as well). Is there really a point to having it only glued half way, considering the Pro1 kind of already as a built-in tilted stand function?

Also yeah, I just consider all deadlines to be when they send the devices out since they would otherwise have to specify one for every demographic (US, EU, PA), which would be even more confusing. As you say, this should not be considered to be the same as when we receive them, in case people are actually stringent on this.
-
I am not disputing the other delays you mentioned, but the two last deadlines are still relevant, I believe. From what I understand, the "first (full) week on January" is for the large batch that is intended to cover 30% of the remaining pre-orders, and the "End of January" deadline is for the entirety of all remaining pre-orders. Considering how things have gone so far, I would very strongly recommend taking actions to ensure things go smoothly even if they have to delay again. Could you not change your shipping address to that of someone who would be able to forward your phone to wherev

What is the delay here? Tracking numbers for the small batch have been sent. The large one is only due this week, and we are still on the very first day.
-
You will have to unlock it, according to this post.

The post for the 3/10th of pre-orders is here. F(x)tec doesn't seem to have ever followed their 1 batch a week plan. I find the fact that this indicates they could not predict what was going to be produced one week in advance kind of insulting for them. I've lost track of dates, but it's not impossible the volumes for that large batch cover the missing shipments of that one batch a week (basically, if they missed the 1 week deadline for three weeks, and this last week contains all that was produced during those weeks).
-
Not that it matters considering all the reasons explained in the above posts, but since I am also into making guesses based on very incomplete data to estimate when we're likely to get a Pro1, here's the actual group size at the time of writing this post: 2,656. You can find it here.

Could you tell us if the order page on your account still states "Processing"? I really, really, really hope they don't send stuff without communicating tracking numbers. Getting the notice is not at all a sure thing were I live, so I would most likely never actually know that the phone is ready to be picked up. I don't think it's the Pro1, and receiving a unexpected delivery is not unheard of during the Christmas season, but if it is and there is no other way than the notice to know it's being delivered, I'm hosed.

Actually, staff from F(x)tec reacting to our complaints is the main way we've been getting information so far.

No customer claimed having received anything from batch 3, as far as I know. The one at the warehouse on 2019-12-13 was batch 2. Batch 3 does seem like it started shipping before the 2019-12-11 [1][2 (3rd paragraph)]. It is also seemingly starting to ship this week [3]. If the combination of the two previous sentences makes no sense to you, don't worry, it does not to me either. Could be that the devices from the first batch 3 were the ones sent to resellers. Hopefully not, because the way this was presented would make that more than a little dishonest. Whether batches are still goin

You can say that again. I'm lost. The "small batch" that is being sent this week, is it the one that was indicated as sent more than a week ago (batch 3)? Or is it batch 4? Or is it batch 5 being timely? What does "being sent" mean now? Are we back to sending to the UK for the EU, or, as per the email of three days ago, sending directly to the customers?
-
Yeah, I also think all of them got bought by people already pre-ordering from F(x)tec but tired of delays. I wouldn't consider it a sign that other people are not interested: the stocks were not available for long (24h? 48h?), that does not give a lot of time for people to find out about the device from those resellers and to make the decision to purchase it.
-
That's actually before F(x)tec's current ETA for new orders, though, isn't it?
