    Will be 5 years for me December 10th. My Pro1x is actually my daily driver... I like the keyboard better—as a writer, the key mapping for punctuation is better, and I don't do anything that challenges the weaker SOC. But I love my Pro 1 and use it for experiments. Right now experimenting with Google Free Lineage. Both work ok as phones, but I don't use either that way.     I don't know if it has any answers, but you might look at some of the discussions in this thread: It is mostly a discussion about the Pro1, but towards the end of the thread there is also discussion of the Pro1x. It may not resolve anything, but will give you an idea of what has been tried and with what degree of success.

    It might help if you gave more information on where you are at and what you need help with. For instance, have you looked at and tried to follow the instructions here? https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/install/ They are actually pretty clear instructions. If you don't understand or are uncomfortable with the instructions, chances are you shouldn't do it. Take your time to read everything carefully and then maybe ask specific questions on what you don't understand.

    I wish I were that person or anyone actually qualified to help (I'm strictly a lineage guy), but I do reasonably believe that using the QFIL method of reflashing stock Android 11 should work as it is capable of working even with bricked Pro1xs (in theory-- I have never done it.) I know it worked recently with someone who mistakenly flashed stock Android 9 for the SD 835 Pro1 on a Pro1x resulting in not being able to even boot.     Are you in the US and are you on Verizon? I ask because this was the problem I had when I used to try to have my Pro 1 on Verizon. It would work fine and then some aspect of the SMS would fail. Then it would come back without my being able to explain how and then, after a while it would break again. I gave up and put my Pro 1 on T-Mobile. Have never had SMS fail. This was back a couple of years before Verizon became so aggressive about whitelisting.

    From what little I saw just now doing a quick scan of different sources, Apostophie OS's approach seems to be to team with hadrdware manufactures to have it the default OS in new devices. They don't seem to be opening it up to devs for previously manufactured phones. Again, it was a very quick scan, so maybe I'm wrong.

    On Sunday, Casey communicated to me that he had all the files and would create new links "Next week." I don't know if that meant the week we are in or really next week. I suspect it hasn't been quicker because he is not where he can easily take care of this. But it will happen. There is someone in our unofficial Discord who is currently sharing the files on Proton Drive if you are impatient. That's where you would want to ask questions about it.

    Almost sounds like the protection that allows you to put the screen to your face when talking (which usually darkens the screen) has somehow gone awry. It only happens after you have made a call? What about while you are in the call. Can you pull the phone away from your face and look something up like normal? I've never heard of something like this happening. I wonder if there is some app that is misbehaving?

    I had noticed that the G-drive links in the official help documents posted by Casey were no longer working (access was denied). I reached out and this was not intentional and they will be fixed sometime this week or so. Just wanted to let folks know. Be patient and the links will work again.

    Again, all the rubber band was intended to solve is being able to charge the battery. It may have done that, but it doesn't solve the main problem of flashing a very wrong version of stock intended for a different phone. I think your best bet is to try the QFIL recovery method in this document posting: I know the Google Drive link no longer works. You can email them to see if they can reopen the link. I do have all* the files downloaded from that link. If you want to DM me, I can provide them to you. Do understand I have never done this and won't be much help if things go

    Okay, the big problem here, I believe, is that the directions you followed were for the Pro 1, not the Pro1x-- so you flashed Android 9 for an 835 SOC to a device that ran Android 11 with a 662 SOC. Unfortunately, I'm not technical enough to know if you can recover from that. I hope someone else here has that knowledge and can help. The instructions for flashing the Pro1x were here. I say "were" because it now looks like you have to request access when you click on the google drive. You can try that, but if you don't succeed DM me, I have the files.     Maybe you know better. I have been assuming that if you are updating OTA rather than sideloading, flashing the newer Gapps isn't relevant since the Google Apps are updated by Google.

    I suspect that actually your Pro1x has been revived by the rubber band method but your problem is with the display. There is one easy thing you can check. The back of the display can be easily opened (5 screws, no glue) and you can check the ribbon cable to see if it is properly connected and seated. Unfortunately, if that's not it, it is probably a defective display. I wasn't sure whether you said FxTec didn't answer your email or replied saying they couldn't help you (meanng they have no display replacements they could send you).     That instruction at step 5 sounds like it is referring to the LOS recovery. It looks like you have ADB able to interact with your phone. What do you get if you do "adb devices?" Reboot into system (Stock Android) and issue the command "Adb devices" if it comes back with something like "unauthorized". look on the Pro1x for a dialog box asking you to approve the connection. Then "adb devices" should return an identifier for the Pro1x. If so, adb is enabled. Even with LOS, I rarely need that enable adb step for anything. I only use it if I'm having trouble. Most of the time I don't.
