Maybe well reasoned ... but actually no-one can be sure, so really, we just have to wait & hope ... Hope that F(x)tec don't end up going back on this from Sept. ...
-
That's a very polite understatement!!!! 😉
-
Very well said, that's a darn good summary!!

"On a side note, please be aware that I do not represent the PR or communications team - I am a techie at Fxtec involved in design/development. My responses might be imperfect, but I provide information to the best of my knowledge. The comms team does not usually get involved with the forum..." Erik, Nov.1st, evening "There is nobody posting official Updates in this Forum at all." Doktor Oswaldo, Nov.6th, AM This was originally intended as a user-to-user help forum, not as a channel for 'official' updates (more's the pity). So if you want something from Fx, it's best to email them

Any updates on desktop OS's?
Tim6263 replied to QWERTYAndreas's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
But the first requirement isn't met on the Pro1: 1. Your Android smartphone must be running Android 10. I'm using a Lumia 950 now. I have the hub, a BT KB, screen, etc. & would be mega interested in this possibility! But ATM, looks like it's a non-starter?? -
I think, for me at least, this is the most important thread on here ATM - thanks all 🙂 👍

For details like this you will get better information communicating with the company: [email protected]. The community here does not have information like this, especially because the phone is not yet freely available.
-
We need to be clear about this, even if "close to dispatch", that's still weeks away from customers hands.
-
Any info on here is really unofficial anyway, so you need to contact [email protected], who should be able to tell you better

In case you missed it, this was my take on F(x)s processing hope it helps a bit?

[...] The one nagging doubt I have is their continued message that subsequent batches will be a lot larger than the first. Given that Liangchen stated: [transcription, 2nd update video, https://vimeo.com/369691049]: “so average one workforce probably takes up to 4 to 5 hours to assemble a full device” Also that it took over a month (sometime in September through to the end of October) to produce the first small batch, why should it take only a few weeks to produce & ship a much larger batch in mid-November? It seems more reasonable to suppose monthly shipments of a similar size to t

[...] Liangchen &/or Adrian &/or others take the specification, design, etc. for the Pro1 to ‘X’ number of factories, eventually settling on one that gives a sensible balance between quality, performance and price; The chosen Shenzen factory takes the many parts and assembles them according F(x)tec plans and specifications; The finished product is transported to the (non-F(x)tec) warehouse in Hong Kong; HK warehouse staff, with existing expertise, acting on F(x)tec instructions, allocate the shipment to the various international export shipping agents; The shipping agents, ind

I have given a good bit of time over the last few days to ponder this thread ... How about taking a broader way of thinking about F(x)tec and the ‘factory’ - the ‘warehouse’ - the ‘fulfilment centres’? The very first thing to keep in mind: F(x)tec is a small start-up. I know we've all paid what for a lot of us is a big $€£amount; but as Liangchen said in the second video, the Pro1 is not like most other phones around just now, and takes quite a bit more assembly. Given this significant design difference, for what F(x)tec are offering I consider that what we’ve paid is not so OTT. Extend this

[poll] Have you had a keyboard phone before?

Several early Nokias: basic 5410, then 3520, followed by N82, then iconic N97! Now, Lumia 950... -
I'm taking a break from this thread. It's so muddled now, & most of the info is out of date, not to say unofficial & therefore unreliable, which all leads to frustration & disappointment. It's completely getting me down 😔. Most worryingly, I can't see any likelihood of those at Fx who are really 'in the know' taking any serious interest in addressing customer concerns. The two videos indicate to me that they are more interested in their little pet project than the success of the wider business, of which we are the key part. So on the assumption that they won't help us out regard

@alexmarzulli I've not been on board quite so long as U .. but U've summed up my thoughts & frustrations exactly
-
@vlycop "I nolonger trust fxtec" I think that's the most damning, saddest thing I've read 😞 but I do understand all the same. For me, given the previously stated 4-5 hour production time per Pro1, my worry is what assurance can there possibly be for the accuracy of Eric's statement? & should this prove 2B another groundless, false hope, I guess pre-Christmas fulfilment of pre-orders is unlikely... I sure hope I am proved wrong, but only time will tell.
-
It might B seen as wrong interpretation of your wording, but you are talking to your customers - not Fx staff. For us, we understand 'shipping' as Fx sending phones to us customers. *not* factory shipping, with customs & international transport delays. 😪 Nonetheless, I still only hope for my phone sometime this month...
-
The shipment has most probs not cleared customs yet, let alone even reached the distribution ctrs. So it's likely 2B a couple of days yet B4 tracker emails go out. And then only for the IGG peeps & a lucky few...
-
All this detail debate, & apart from @EskeRahn (perhaps 1,2 @ preview?) we've never had a pro1 in our hands?! All speculation. I'm waiting to get my order, then I'll decide on the best solution for phone protection...
-
Ne neither..... Was looking forward to 🎧 with F(x) logo especially
-
The phones in shipment this week are only the 1st batch, & will only cover some of the pre-orders. I am not expecting my phone in this shipment, & no-one yet knows when the next shipment will be made, or with how many phones. This is why many of us are talking about getting our orders sometime in November; not likely this week, or even next....
-
"Probably going to be mid- to late November though..." ============= Taking all this together, understanding that this is a bespoke phone, from a small UK start-up - not so surprising it's hand assembled, takes longer to get parts, etc. F(x) are being more open about production & shipping, & for that I am genuinely grateful.
-
so will some lucky customers get phones with "as video & tested by Liangchen" stickers?!
-
Thank U Eric, truly. It is definite information; & while not quite as good as some hoped for, it is what we all needed to hear.
