  1. I have to agree. A little honesty from F(x) would set the record straight, & all of this hypothesis, debate, disagreement - would all go away!
  2. If only: "I think it is just one overnight-flight from china (if customs are no problem) and the phones will arrive in the fulfillment centers today. 🙂 Edited 12 minutes ago by Shilor" 1. The phones are stuck in customs, they are not free to fly. 2. Once they do leave China, they will be held by UK (Hong Kong, or wherever else) customs 3. for how long we don't know - this is an unknown product, to a new destination, with no prior shipping history. I speak from experience. I am *not* trying to be negative; only realistic. Openness & honesty from F(x) woul
  3. I have to agree with this sentiment. I take the most important phase as this giveaway, "The first batch is being held at the Chinese export customs at the minute." That means that the phones are *never* going to reach Fxtec warehouse in time to ship tomorrow. End of story. Period.
  4. If they were using the 'show-boat-from-China' shipping, we'd be lucky to have our phones for Christmas 😉
  5. How appropriate 🙂 - my current phone is Windows 10 & the only reason I went looking for a new handset is coz MS are dumping support from 2020!! All the more disappointing to me coz MS cashed-in on Nokia, which was the final nail in the coffin for the Symbian OS 😞
  6. I guess the self-assembly version is for the (yet to be released) Scandi keyboard?!
  7. I am pretty sure that 'legal action' was completely out of the question, I don't think you should even have mentioned this. It is only possible for a contract of sale. Unless money has been paid, or goods have been supplied with pre-arranged & signed credit - there is no legal contract of sale. That's my understanding of UK sale-of-goods regulations.
  8. I guess we applaud the intent at least, though I agree it's not really an update. This would be information with dates & quantities. But I can't say I'm expecting anything much more of this; just hoping for an email notification with order shipping details (just not anytime especially soon...)
  9. The give-away comment in Adrian's video is "ramping up production". By that, I'd understand that they haven't even really got started make the Pro1 yet. We can therefore infer that, they don't know the actual production rate. And therefore they can't know either shipping time(s) or quantities! We don't even know for sure whether Adrian's date is for product to leave the factory; or for individual orders to leave the distribution centres. So it's a pretty good bet: Virtually no end customer is likely to get their phone this month. What's more, I reckon it is more than likely a lot of pre-
  10. At last, something definite, from someone that should be 'in the know'. Some acknowledgement of this as a response to the pressure directly by email and from the Forum would have been good, but hey?! And I get that as a small start-up they are to a larger extent than most probably, hostage to a competitive market. None the less, this was quoted as a problem from August - we are now in October - and they are only starting to ship on 29th: Only the very lucky few will take delivery this month. Not what they said only a few days ago. So, come on Fx, make sure to keep us in the loop from now
  11. I guess I didn't express where my frustrations really lay, so for that, I am sorry :( My issue is not so much the wait, as annoying as this is. What frustrates me most is the lack of communication, to the point of looking devious & deceptive. I understand that unforeseen problems happen. But back in July, pre-order customers were given to expect receipt of our Pro1s by the end of the summer (against previous notice that Fx would only seek payment 2-3 weeks prior to shipping). It must be clear by now that Fx were NOWHERE NEAR production when they took pre-order payment. How can they
  12. We might as well face facts: many of us most likely will be waiting, for another month ... as of Fx email to me, Today: they still have neither confirmed shipping dates or shipping quantities - so basically, they don't know either when, or how many orders they will be able to fulfil ?
  13. I'm afraid I'm with Gon009 F(x) know a) how many pre-orders they have to fulfil; & b) how many units are in production. They SHOULD also know: production status; shipping quantities & despatch dates. When all we get from F(x) is "expect", with no mention of specific dates or quantities, we are left in the dark. We are left with no option but to read between the lines that, actually, they don't know themselves. Which is anything but reassuring. And that's why I wrote to them: "FX need to take on board that your customer service to date is truly shocking." What we need to restore
  14. I know the feeling, only too well.....
  15. What would be properly 'good' is if F(x) would keep us ALL informed officially, instead of us having to rely on second hand drip feeds that many of us desperately want to believe, but remain deeply sceptical about. To that end, I sent a strongly worded email to info@fxtec yesterday (finishing off that I will give them a few days to reply before I publish further...) I have also contacted techblogwriter@outlook.com - in the interview on fxtec.com (which they have conveniently cut short, but which is still full length on the blog website) the interviewer talked about getting Adrian back on in
  16. The way they've ramped up Facebook posts this week, you'd be forgiven for thinking they had product ready to ship. They just reply to hopeful enquiries - sometimes - with directions to the website to place an order. But they still won't commit to an actual first shipping date for those who have already ordered, some many, many months ago. It's just NOT good business to keep genuine, paying customers in the dark ?
  17. 1st, spring; then, end of summer; then mid-September; now the factory is on holiday so it's October, earliest - what will B the 'reason' for the next delay? suggestions pls?! As others have said, better, more frequent, comms from F(x) themselves, esp. now they have our payment would be a start...
  18. Same with me. But I did what they said in the heads-up email - I sent them a chase email, this morning - a few hours later, payment request received & now all processed :)
  19. I can tell you that 100% it's NOT. I too was quite interested in the possibility of trying out Sailfish on the Pro1, so that I contacted Jolla directly. They advised me that porting Sailfish is purely a 'Community' project, and that I needed to look to Sailfish on Facebook. I did that, and there's precious little about the Pro1 on there. That was enough to put me off the idea of chancing an unofficial OS on a brand new phone!
  20. Me, too, applied for Beta; & likewise my current handset is getting v.v. dodgy, so I would have no worries beta testing the Pro1 as my primary phone! ?
  21. My reading of Waxberry, "focusing on improving..."; "doing a lot of test"; "improving firmware"; etc. would be there is still a fair bit of development work to do. They are NOT ready to fulfil orders; Don't hold your breath for imminent shipment..!
