Well I got myself a Dell 2 in 1 for that now. My wife said I should get one - turns out it's a better option than that keyboard.. but I certainly want the pro1, because it's smaller and would most likely be most of the time somewhere near me.

I am looking forward to the phone and don't mind them holding my 736 Euro. As I pointed out in another thread there's no alternative for me and I currently am on a Samsung S8. But RDP and Putty is too painful with OSD-Keyboard. Edit: waiting for QWERTZ-layout, Germany.

Well.. I ordered mine back a month or so for 736€. And yet when connecting to my Ubuntu server via RDP from my phone yesterday I was once again reminded why there's no alternative to waiting patiently for the pro1 to arrive: keyboard input was nearly impossible. So while I most certainly can understand the disappointment in regards to fxtec not delivering on time, I see no other way than to wait and keep the fingers crossed. The only real other way is to ask for a refund - which apparently does work, too. But as mentioned above: it's not an option for me.

Since I read that even IGG preorders are not guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas, my 40x-something-thousand-order will most likely not make it to me this year. Of course I am wishing FxTec all the best and hoping for my phone, but I guess it's rather unlikely to happen this year. So in order to get something for the money I spent, I also HOPE to have been right about FxTec, meaning they'll actually deliver. So... rooting for you guys. P.s.: I wish the communication was better; I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew what's happening / going on in regards with FxTec and the pro1-dev

Actually: on my nVidia SHIELD tablet, if I boot up while holding the tablet landscape-wise, it'll show a landscape-type logo, otherwise a normal logo. And from what I remember it's running Android 7 or 8.

Funny how some people think money will buy them everything, especially priority everywhere. I wouldn't sell you a Pro1 even if I had a spare one, because I don't support this thought people have about themselves, saying they deserve something more than others, because they can afford it. I also want a Pro1, I already paid 738 Euro for it and I haven't gotten a tracking number, let alone the device. Oh well. Hopefully the QWERTZ-device will ship before Christmas (which is what I was promised by fxtec support, though seeing all the delays I do take it with a big grain of doubt).

I definitely prefer the keyboard of this little thing: (HP Veer) The second-best IMO is the BB Priv keyboard due to its touch-functionality.

Yeah. Since I am not going to play on this phone for the most part, I am not interested in Windows on anything at all (gaming is the only reason I am keeping Windows on my desktop altogether). So if I went ahead and worked on something, it wouldn't be Windows for sure - no matter how well Office works (I prefer MS Office to any other office suite). I just happen to know a few languages and once you start using something much more often, you quickly memorize a lot of things.

I have had a HP Veer (which I still do, but the battery and the OS suck somewhat). I also own a PRIV. The latter wasn't that great, because whenever I needed performance, it quickly became too hot. Otherwise it was fine - especially since it had touch-enabled keys. But after no Update-support and even the lack of security updates (and no way to use custom ROMs) I am done with BlackBerry. Looking forward to my Pro1!

Actually writing in languages with other charsets such as Russian is pretty easy with a real keyboard. In contrast to the On-Screen-keyboard the keys just resembls other characters and that's it. The OSD-keyboards shrink, because they try to fit e.g. 33 letters in the same 3 rows... sucks if one has thick fingers... Japanese is a bit more difficult. If one types in e.g. romaji - only writing the silbs - it is bearable. As soon as you need the kanji, you are bummed, because that's where the app as well as Windows starts heavily guessing. I have talked about the Pro1 at work, but since stuff gets delayed, there's nothing to tell my colleagues. Once I hot my device though, I do know a few, who might just buy one for the same reasons.

Honestly.. if it was bigger I would have reconsidered buying it, too. I loved my HP Veer. If only it's battery and specs were up to date and the OS more recent. If a Pro1mini was to be released I might get it in addition to the Pro1.

Well I am not entirely sure since I haven't checked my banking account since Thursday, but apparently since I didn't get a notice of the phone being shipped, I was not charged. Scam wouldn't do that; they'd get as much money fast as they can - and run. But they don't. I believe it's just their poor communication with their customers. But other than that they are probably doing well.

I wonder when the non-pre-order QWERTZ-Pro1s are going to get shipped o.o...

I know I probably should have waited and neither got a preorder price nor possibly any goodies, but I ordered the phone for its regular price and just hope I'll get it as soon as it's possible, because it's really the only phone I want, because I am tired of these stupid on screen keyboards without any precise feedback. Just do your best, guys!

Well ... if I knew when the phone arrives, I'd even pay that to get it since I am going to use it for ssh / tty to PC and the likes. My wife wasn't amused I told her the phone became 80 Euro more expensive, but she doesn't mind. It's just that she is not amused by the raise and am not either. She says perhaps we should wait till it becomes cheaper... kinda sad cause I had the phone for less in the basket and suddenly have to pay more now :/

Why does the phone keep getting more and more expensive? Last time I almost bought it it was around 650€, now it's almost 730€ or so...

I assume this only applies to phones, that have been already pre-ordered? What about those, who buy today or in a week or two - would it be likely for me to receive it this year? The problem is, that while the phone sure has its advantages, the chipset etc. already started aging...

Well I suppose they need to decide what to concentrate their resources on - so it's fine. I just hope it'll be soon available and once that happened, I'll order my phone.

To be honest I did not even expect these replies here. All I wanted to know is when the phone would most likely be shipped to me, because I'd really like to buy and use it, but at the same time have become more cautious of things offered via IndieGoGo. So I guess November or the likes it'll be. Thanks.
