It's not. That should be when there's enough stock that you can order a device and have it shipped from available stock. That's the ordering system being a bit wonky. It considers something a pre-order if it's not paid yet, and an order when it's paid. Also technically correct I guess to the company. It would, according to all known current information. It's all semantics though, but I don't see why they would change that definition for this estimation. I'd guess it also doesn't matter that much, since I think most pre-orders were made before August. So this doesn't app

I think the last we heard about that (this was a couple of months ago I think), any order before general availability is a pre-order. So technically the numbers could still shift dramatically if a lot of people pre-ordered today. I'd assume it was 70% of all pre-orders at the time they posted, and not some time last year.
-
The next batch will bring the total shipped orders to 70%. The next batch is 6 times bigger than previous batches combined. This is all information from Erik. 1/6th of 70% would be what has already been fulfilled then, which is 11 and 2/3rd percent of all pre-orders, or about 12% since no doubt these numbers aren't that accurate. And this upcoming batch would be 58 and 1/3rd percent of all pre-orders (to bring the total to 70%). EDIT: I got that a bit wrong, see below. Thanks @EskeRahn

So, again the majority of this post is off-topic, so that's hidden. Please focus on the actual news. Guess my advice about not getting too excited about shipping before CNY was sound, at least for some people. Always thought they wouldn't risk not shipping the entire batch, so logically they just reduce the batch. Oh well, just a couple of weeks to wait.

You can't decide what I'm sorry for. So yes, about that.
-
This post is kind of off-topic, so sorry about that. It should be hidden because of that.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to bother with this if you're going to deny that that mentions constructive criticism. Besides, it was merely the first result I got. I'm sorry I didn't do a master's thesis on this merely because you didn't bother to explain what you meant the first time around because you felt yourself above others. Sure, it's technically off-topic anyway. Right, which is why people should be able to post constructive criticism, without being attacked and strawmanned into thinking they shouldn't post. This community just loves to argue with fallacies, and it's terribl

I completely disagree with all of this. Especially if you're looking at what's on this forum, as that would apparently be so harsh people block it off. Also, yes that is what it technically means, why would you then continue to argue that it means something else? Oh yeah, that's real constructive, to act like you're above somebody while not actually teaching anything. 👍 I know how search engines work, I'm not an idiot. Also, look at https://www.dictionary.com/browse/constructive--criticism No mention of the tone, just that it's supposed to be helpful, which it was.

You do realize this also works the other way around, right? There's no proof that they weren't lies, and it practically can't be proven nor disproven since that would require in-depth internal information on the production status and such which they're very unlikely to share. The assumption in that case is that F(x)tec isn't lying, but there's proof of that for some of these individual statements. Sure there are previous situations in which they were truthful and honest, like offering refunds when the keyboard mod crowdfund didn't go according to plan, but that's not proof that these individua

@tdm Thank you so much for the information you're posting here, it's very interesting. I do have a question about the "firmware" though, some people say that custom ROMs will lack the firmware updates that official (still supported) ROMs have, and thus can be less secure in that way. Are they talking about what you're calling the "vendor bits" for hardware support? And how out of date could these be for this ROM or LineageOS for the Pro1?
-
This fallacy again huh. I already did, what's your point? That apparently it's okay to slip dates by half a year? That delays are bound to happen? That communication like this is the only way things can go? Getting real tired of this. And that means this time you're guaranteed to get it? This is a startup, and there are risks involved. It's absolutely possible that they'll not deliver all devices, though I hope F(x)tec will prosper obviously. It's not a "hoax", that would imply they planned to never deliver and just run with the money. They've already delivered (a small number
-
I hate to be that guy, but I'd advice to not get too excited about shipping before CNY. There's a record here of slipping dates, and I don't really see a reason to believe this time will be different. Just that this time a slippage would definitely mean an added week or whatever people don't work during CNY.

@ttodd You make some good points, but there's a lot of points that are almost technically correct, but not quite. Like I'm pretty sure what you claim is a breach of contract isn't even close to that. Or what you're calling a strawman argument, isn't a strawman argument, he isn't making the counter argument easier to attack, he's just using an analogy. I agree with one of your main points (I think) though, that people shouldn't abuse the chargeback protection all willy nilly. Always first try to find a solution with the seller first, and it still seems that F(x)tec's doing this. If th
-
That's not a universal fact. I know some use 120 days as a limit, and there's also the question of from when the days are counted since some count from supposed delivery date instead of payment date.

I'll preface this by copying the warning on the page I'm linking: So with that out of the way, has anybody tried https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/acc It seems to have a bunch of functions to extend battery life, but it does require root via Magisk. One specific function that seems to work on a very limited number of devices is to limit the charging current via applyOnPlug=usb/current_max:MICRO_AMPS . This seems to accomplish what most people here would want, without needing to use a specific charger.

This is just semantics. I meant those retailers you're also talking about. I'm sorry I didn't overly qualify it to suit your standards, I thought it was clear I wasn't suddenly talking about different stores that haven't been mentioned before. True, but that was merely a side analogy to indicate that promises don't make things okay. Not my main point. I agree that the problem was that they decided that promise was to be taking preference over their other promises. Again, not the case. You're misrepresenting the situation by omitting information and saying it's only because of a
-
It was mostly on topic, only occasionally have people been talking about other things. But even so, just because others are being off-topic is no good reason to also be off-topic. But yes, all those other times were very annoying as well. But they were also pretty short.
-
Okay, but they didn't just do that. You're omitting some important details that indicate that retailers got prioritized over pre-orderers, they gave preference to retailers. Also, just because they promised to do a "bad" thing doesn't make that "bad" thing any better. If somebody promised somebody else that they'll kick me in the genitals, I'd still be pretty pissed if they went ahead and did it. And we got promised something as well, they literally gave preference to the promise to the retailers over the promise to the pre-orderers.
-
@VaZso I fail to see what this has to do with the production status.
-
I am fairly sure that none got sent out this week, even though they should've arrived last Friday to be shipped out. So, just another week later, again.
-
A question for the people that already have a Pro1, can you stick a magnet to the back of it? There are those car mounts that are just a big magnet that I think could work pretty well, though obviously the back needs to be ferromagnetic for that to work. All I know about the back is that it's some sort of metallic.
-
In Europe you totally still have protections in case you get a faulty device and the company doesn't want to help you. The credit card's protection would most likely also have a specific option for "faulty device". You just need to send the device back, that's basically the only difference. Note, I can't see this applying because the customer service is slower to reply during the Christmas season, just saying.
-
Nah, we do. 1-2 /10's each week, and a large one was 3/10 once. If you choose to no longer trust these statements is a different problem.
-
That seems like a different issue then. You already have a rough approximation, but you don't trust their word and the approximation. You don't want more information, you want more accurate/truthful information. Which seems even more hopeless to get if you're just asking for more information, and I see no reason for them to change their course now.
-
They kinda did that, with the 5 to 10% number, and we have an approximation of the total orders as well. I don't see a reason to be more specific then.
