  1. Is it though? It's currently mile 25.9, but that would be of the estimated 10 miles, which has shifted by 2 miles every time the end got close. The marathon might just end at mile 100. You have to draw the line somewhere.
  2. Sounds like you're saying he's either negative and that means he doesn't want the device, or he's lying and isn't actually negative. This is a false dilemma fallacy though, you can absolutely be negative but still want the device, or at least parts of the device.
  3. Netflix is one of the apps that will trigger the safetynet API, it's pretty infamous for that. However, I think Netflix's only problem is that you can't install it via the playstore, you could technically still use it. Some banking apps just won't work. This should be fixed when the certification is there.
  4. I didn't say anything about a batch needing to be a precise number of units, and I didn't say a batch can't be very big. I don't know why you bring that up, did you misquote somebody? My point was that the whole point of batches is to sent not everything at once, if you're going to sent everything at once it's not longer a batch. By only doing 1 extremely small batch you're effectively not doing batches either, since effectively people are getting the phones at the same time since the extremely small group is negligible.
  5. From what little I read, this seems to be wrong. It can technically boot without decrypting, it just can't do anything past that. That's the whole point of not encrypting everything, to ensure faster boot and have it be available in emergency situations.
  6. Glad I set my expectations to getting the phone some time before Christmas. Assuming the same shipping time as the first batch, and if they're sent this week, I should be getting it in week 51, the week before Christmas. If they slip past Friday, it'll be week 52. I don't really see how they expect to get the second batch to customers then, but also have general availability then. Only way to get that is to send enough phones this week to fulfill all pre-orders and have enough for general availability, effectively negating the whole batch idea.
  7. This solidified my intention to install LineageOS. Glad to see that there's already progress for that.
  8. Didn't know that, I figured full disk encryption is full disk encryption, but apparently Google disagrees. Yeah, then I can see it being a problem.
  9. Wouldn't simple encryption stop any sort of attack that you could achieve via an unlocked bootloader? You can't change the ROM to something similar but with added software if you can't de-encrypt the current ROM. Best you can do is change it to something similar, but that should be noticed. I don't get how it's an issue.
  10. This doesn't say there are no batches. Shipping all can still happen in batches.
  11. Again, I'm not going to snitch about who did this, but I'm not mistaken.
  12. It was said there shouldn't be anybody in the first batch that didn't have a IGG voucher, partly because not everybody with a voucher was in the first batch. I see any reason to believe the people I'm thinking of did anything noteworthy. They just seem like "normal" pre-orders that paid extremely fast.
  13. First batch had some people that didn't back IGG as well. Some people posted about that, and they now have their phone. I'm not going to say who because I'm not a snitch, and there shouldn't have been any people in there that didn't back IGG. But there were.
  14. Middle of this week. If the first batch is anything to go by, that would make sense. Stock assignment emails are only sent after they leave the factory, it was about 4 business days after they left for the first batch.
  15. I completely understand that people want more information, since the wait is painful (maybe even moreso now that people are getting theirs). But asking for specifics like how many orders there are in a batch is something you can't expect Fxtec to just give. Yes they're a startup that's fairly close to their customers, but they're still a business. Assuming it's about the same as the previous batch, it would be 4 business days after shipment from factories. So, middle of this week would be the shipment from factories, or the 20th, and stock assigned would be the 26th. The second batch w
  16. Thanks for the update. These small delays are such a bummer though, but I'm sure you're more annoyed by things outside of your control. That 1 person already got a tracking code makes me feel a lot better though, and I hope EU/US follows soon. When they'll have their phones I'll certainly rest easy.
  17. No idea, I don't have enough experience with importing newly engineered products. I've only dealt with "consumer" customs, so products that already exist, but all seem to take about the same time. I've only read on here that the next times should take less time, because they wouldn't need to go through all the hopes again or something. But it makes more sense to me that that would happen earlier via some sort of certification. But again, this is new to me.
  18. I'd rather not post that, somehow that doesn't feel comfortable. They were from Australia though. There aren't that many that posted on here from the first batch honestly.
  19. There's a chance overall shipment might be faster for a lot of reasons, but I don't think it's smart to bank on that, and I don't see it being a big chance. It's also a bigger batch, so that might delay things more. But yes, second batch is not guaranteed to come early December, it might come late November. I just think the chances of the second batch arriving in November just isn't significant enough.
  20. Like others have already said, you left out the important part. A cynical person would've used Thursday as the day tracking codes would arrive anyway. I'd say the lack of APAC shipping codes is more weird, but even then that's supposedly only a small part, and I've only seen 1 person on here who said they were in the first batch and would also be APAC. And they haven't posted since. So not even that weird honestly.
  21. These quotes come from This is contradictory, you can't have the orders be on the way to customers, and also have it be fulfilled. That's not what fulfilled means. I'm guessing it's meant that they're ready to ship towards customers from whatever warehouse they're in now. Let's take these estimations and calculate how many days it takes to get from the factory, to customers. The first batch was sent out from factories on the 29th of October. 29th of October to the 14th of November (earliest what I'd call of "late this week"), is 16 days. However, since holidays and weekends ar
  22. I wasn't referring to me either, somebody else made that "annoying" comment. I still haven't posted anything in that sense. I am also not repeating myself in that people were mostly asking questions, or needed clarification on something I said. In any case, they're not the same posts time and time again.
  23. Pretty sure the only "official" statements we have are by people who have since said that those aren't official statements. Unless you're talking about shared customer support emails.
  24. And then say the only thing we know is some stuff about the shipment of the phones, while there's plenty of opinions and such on this forum which lie outside of that. For example, that some person posted a certain opinion time and time again, which is wrong. You dismissed that.
  25. You can check how fallacies work yourself, and find out them I'm right about those fallacies. Obviously not. Weird question. I don't think I made any claims about their inner workings. If you completely dismiss what I was saying, sure. Again, most of my post wasn't about the phones or when they'll be received.
