I don't know about that. If I'd get the device, I think I'd still be checking the forum for at least a little while. It sounds like the software isn't perfect, and there are some tips and tricks that will help the user experience on here. And then there's things like the Lineage OS build that's posted on here, and app recommendations, or best ways to open the keyboard. So less might browse here because they don't need to keep up to date on the order process, but more might be here to get tips and tricks. So, I can see it definitely being possible that overall less people with phones brows

Still far too low to actually say anything. To accurately estimate the results with smaller groups requires relatively larger sample sizes. And the results are very biased, a specific group of people visits here. The results are fun, but don't really tell anything aside from maybe that more people didn't get the phone then people who did get the phone.

Generally agree. None of this is was planned out or something I think. Doesn't mean things can't keep going wrong still. I do believe they're deliberate in some of their wrong messaging. People have complained about not being able to find relevant posts plenty of times though. A couple of few weeks*

Wouldn't call that independent really, and it's not really correct in a couple of spots like saying it comes with an unlocked bootloader, that it's FullHD (it's more) or that it's called the "Pro".

Because you can't just apply your normal muscle memory, only way to not have a learning curve is by using something like the Cosmo Communicator's form factor. Besides that, optimizations for less space and thumb orientation etc.
-
I don't know of any other device I'll use that'll have a keyboard that I use with my thumbs. It's a completely different muscle memory. I don't have the Pro1 yet so I'm speculating, but I don't think the muscle memory will collide with regular keyboards. I didn't have any significant issue with the Desire Z even though that merged and moved some things around because of the small keyboard.

That's a pretty big difference. Only investors there would be the crowd, the pre-orderers. I don't think that's the case here, I think there are a couple of investors here in some form. Just playing devil's advocate here, I don't disagree with your general sentiment. Basically think of anything they promised, and what if the opposite of what they promised came out? What if they aren't producing devices consistently? What if the issues with the screen are more significant? What if IGG aren't prioritized? What if payment date doesn't matter? etc. All of these I could see increasing

It also works on some, what I think are incorrect, assumptions. That's a problem with just aggregating a bunch of data, displaying it a certain way can be deceiving. Those order numbers seem incorrect for example. At best this information would tell you when all pre-orders would be done, not when you could estimate your device. Shipments are supposedly organized by IGG status and payment date, but even that seems to be pretty fuzzy. Also, I don't think this is something they can just give out. You don't see businesses do something like that often, and I'd assume there are contract

I believe that number comes from the order numbers, which doesn't translate directly to "valid" orders that actually are waiting for a phone. There were some educated guesses made with some API, that I think is more along the lines of a couple thousand?

Funny joke, I really can't take this seriously.
-
[Citation needed] [Citation needed] Because you were wrong, or what? Just a bunch of baseless arguments, and when confronted with being factually wrong you just dismiss it like that. At least I now know I don't need to take you serious either. Yup, that information is unreliable at best, And personally I mostly just ignore it at this point. And obviously there are bigger problems in this world, but that doesn't need to be mentioned with every mention of a smaller problem.

More that they were too impatient, and thought they were ignoring them. 24 to 48 hours to get a reply isn't fantastic, but it's definitely not bad in my opinion. I would get worried about not getting a reply after 48 hours, or possibly a week if it's not urgent. Which does not seem to be the case here. So, just misinformed. Clickbait to me implies that they knew the title was wrong, i.e. a lie. -
I must've missed some update then, because all I see is a post by Erik saying "they have approached us since we first announced Pro1 at MWC in Feb and we've been in discussions with them since." No mention of the word "at" there, only "since", those are two pretty different words. Quote's from Nothing about being approached at MWC, nothing about there not being emails, nothing about it being a stand (though that was the case I think). Nothing about the discussions starting at MWC. Might be they got an email later because the stores saw their presence there based on this, then MWC would

So you meant it like I said it, and now you're just backpedalling because you don't like the implication of how it sounds. Got it. Anyway, feel free to reply one last time or whatever if you feel the need to have the last post (or don't), but I'm not going to continue this off-topic discussion.

I quoted it, I never said you literally said it. It's an implication. If it wasn't to indicate that it's a more trivial amount, then I'd like to know what you meant by including that passage.
-
No, it definitely does. In that case it's the playstore checking because Netflix set it as such.

Because just everybody can spare 700€ all willy nilly, right? Just because the shops spend more they matter more? We don't matter at all? What an arrogant take, and the opposite of what they state is happening.
-
F(x)tec and the shops. They weren't on the same schedule, and have been in talks since the pre-order period. People pre-ordered on the same day they opened up, so it's obvious people ordered before the shops.
-
Where did I state that you stated that? I said that as that's what F(x)tec is thinking by prioritizing the shops. Hey now, no assumptions. That's apparently no longer cool. And that F(x)tec agreed to that is my problem why? F(x)tec chose to do that, and by choosing that they delayed my order. That's not an argument. If somebody were to rob a bank to feed a family, I can say I understand the logic, but that's still terrible. Just comparing arguments, nothing more here.
-
That's not the problem here. I fully expected the phone to be sold at retailers at some point. Don't forget that F(x)tec also made deals with everyone of us pre-orderers. Why are the deals with the shops more important than our deals? We were promised Christmas delivery as well, but instead of that the batches got cannibalized to deliver to these shops. We were set as second rate customers, we're getting the phones later because of this, even though they're literally still promising that they're prioritizing us. There's plenty of reason to be upset at this. No, the said since M

Why do they limit the devices that can download it from the playstore based on safetynet, but then provide an APK themselves? That doesn't make any sense lmao.

Thanks, I did not know this. That seems counter-intuitive. -
There are definitely people receiving phones from F(x)tec, it's just that the amount is pretty small, and people think retailers cut in line and snagged phones from people that technically paid earlier. And the promise was that the earlier you paid, the earlier you got the phone. It seems unfair to customers directly from F(x)tec.
-
@EvilDragon So if I'm understanding correctly, this wasn't a case where you just normally ordered a bunch of devices and paid earlier than all the other pre-orderers?

I appreciate the update, and I truly hope it to be true. At this point I just can't trust the promises made about when things will be shipping though. Too many things have been said that turned out to be at least slightly off. This update didn't change my expectations, I still have it set to zero and am just waiting until my buyer protection is about to run out. If I get a personally assigned message like a stock assigned email, I'll be pleasantly surprised. If not, I won't be disappointed. If the update's true, then it at least still shows F(x)tec cares about delivering a good phone, and
