That option isn't sexist, that's what you're making of it. Anybody can be one regardless of what they're born with, and nobody's inherently one regardless of what they're born with. It's purely based on how that person acts.

I don't like screen protectors. Gorilla glass by itself is pretty good, the plastic screen protectors scratch significantly easier, and the glass ones are kinda weird for curved screens. I've used both in the past, and I've always just kept them on indefinitely even though they got scratched/cracked, they seem pointless to me personally.

That doesn't really make sense, the work in China is obviously delayed, but development doesn't necessarily need to happen in China. There's an office in the UK. If anything I'd say that because manufacturing is on hold, that's the perfect time to focus on other things.

Well it uses hinges instead of sliders, so a keyboard hinger? Though people might think it's a completely folding one like the Cosmo Communicator then.
-
They're nano SIMs? And not cut down micro SIMs? There's a thickness difference that I could see possibly being an issue with a sliding mechanism like this.

Last I heard from Erik was to "Email info@fxtec.com ... to chase your request if necessary." though.

More, "...that you have read and agree to...", that's shortanable to "...that you have ... agree to..." which is wrong. It should be "...that you have read and agreed to...". Also it should be "I have read the Privacy Policy/Consent Form. I'm assuming they also meant that those checks mean you agreed to the policy and form, but technically they don't. It's pretty bad.

Using the Pro1 as a daily device - what hinders you?

I'm going to guess that will be practically impossible. No case will be able to cover the slider mechanism in both opened and closed states, so you'd need something that aligns with the top and bottom to be waterproof enough every time you close it. And then you also need to cover up the speakers and ports, since I don't think those have the same waterproofing magic waterproof phones' speakers do, so a splash on those would probably be bad. I could see a waterproof belt holster being made though. -
For once the delays are because of factors 100% outside of their control. Sure it sucks as always, but this time it's absolutely understandable. Previous times the delays were always because of things either they or their partners had some control over, or they could've anticipated.

18 inch USB cable seems pretty normal to me. Enough to go from a socket to a surface next to the socket. That it's micro instead of USB C is pretty weird though.

https://www.fxtec.com/contact/ I believe this is the best way to get in contact with F(x)tec, though I think this just sends an email in the backend.

I was about to say that most people would use their dominant hand (so right for most people) to hold and use their phone in portrait position, thus making the placement stupid. But then I searched for it and saw https://tristandenyer.com/work/user-research-people-hold-interact-phone/ which says 57% use with one hand and hold with the other. And the plurality hold it with their left hand.

The addition of placement based on how many there are in your country (not even timezone) practically makes the queue a black box. Previously it was very easy to notice if people jump around in the queue because IGG voucher status is just binary, and payment date is known to all parties. Qwertz/qwerty was the only unknown previously, but that wasn't this big an unknown I think. Though both weren't mentioned to be a source of priority placement before ordering. Now it seems to be impossible to complain about people jumping the queue in front of you, because it might just be a valid order

@Akun I think I have more criticisms than most on this forum, but come on. They've made a lot of mistakes and I think a couple of mistakes were to cover up other mistakes in a less than honest way, but this isn't a scam. By all accounts it seems that most pre-orders and payments came during or before August 2019, and shipments started in October 2019. If it's a scam, why would they've kept up production in those months (and after) if they've already gotten most of the money? Only reason I can think of is to appear more trustworthy to get even more pre-orders to run with more money at a la

Probably. Depends on what you want to do I guess. Honestly, I'd trust @tdm over what I'd have to say about this, I just know enough that I'm personally willing to accept the risk of Magisk. Also I don't know how fast 17 might be available, I don't think it's soon for most devices.
-
Lineage OS devs in general seem to hate Magisk, I think for valid reasons. I saw a dev on reddit make a good case for why it's bad once, but I can't find it now. Basically, the whole point of Magisk is that it allows you to change important things, while hiding itself from the rest of the system. This allows you to have root and pass safetynet so you can use banking apps, but if anything malicious gets access to that it can just hide itself as well and do some very nasty stuff. I'm not sure how likely it is something malicious will get access to Magisk, but it's definitely something to keep in

The declared values are definitely used for calculating the different import costs, as well as the insurance. At least for private orders, I am not so sure about business orders. It is why some shops declare lower values, to help their customers. That is also one of the risks though, that the insurance will only insure the declared value.
-
Sure I agree with that, but it's what they asked. I think the current estimations are that there are a couple of thousand orders. So with that you can get some more numbers if you'd like, but it's not like they'd be accurate.
-
Latest we've been told is that 70% of all pre-orders are in this batch, so 30% left. And that the rest of the pre-orders will follow shortly after the Chinese holidays in February.

Yes yes, my post wasn't necessarily meant for this specific post of yours. That's irrelevant. Care to explain why you think they might want to know this irrelevant info? Considering it's not targeted towards them, but towards people that do things you're saying they never did. I prefer to not be called stupid for no valid reason. I fully realize that they replied to you, but you first replied to them. Seemed to me that your post was meant as a clarification to your previous posts.
-
So you're clarifying something they never said, and advising people in general that they shouldn't do something this person never did? Don't really see why you'd need to reply to them then, just a separate reply might've been smarter. When I see a quote, I assume that that message is meant for the person quoted. This way it just seems that you're ignoring the point in the discussion. EDIT: I also disagree that they publicly stated clearly that all pre-orders being done on the 18th wasn't a sure thing. This is getting into semantic territory, so I think it's valid to disagree with me
-
Ironic, considering that I think that you're now ignoring the point of the original post. Though I don't know if you're doing this deliberately. Also, I was never ignoring the point. It was always related to the argument, to try and make clear why certain arguments didn't hold or wouldn't work. I don't think so. The original post said That wasn't a post saying they lied, or broke a promise. That was asking how it's possible to be that off with your estimations, so close to when those estimations should've panned out. If the original poster @nanohcv would like to clari

That's standard for USB-C. USB-C was rarer at some point, but I think most new phones now have USB-C over Micro. -
Dang it, I knew I should've read more than 1 line on wikipedia. I'm using a new search engine, and it's results aren't always as good as Google's sadly. No, that update said "he expects all of the pre-orders will be produced by the 18th of January", not "plan" but "expects". If you're going to argue about semantics at least use the right words. Plan =/= expects (=/= will). I say their argument stands if you replace will with expect.

I was about to say that when I saw the boxes of Pro1's from Twitter. If they were about to be shipped to customers, they'd be in individual boxes since there's no intermediate step between HK and the customers. CNY is tomorrow I think, so they don't have a lot of time in that situation. I can see a situation in which they don't ship any before the shutdown. EDIT: I got the date wrong (25th), and they seem to be shipping today anyway. Also, what was communicated to the customers was definitely that they'll ship to customers before CNY on the 20th, not that they'll dispatch to some warehous
