  1. I'm using F-Droid exclusively, I don't have or want gapps on my device. I'm using Lineage because it's the easiest way of having an up-to-date Android version on myy device.
  2. The patch was submitted here. https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_fxtec_pro1/+/308056 As I said, feel free to submit an issue to https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android and request a user-configurable option. At this moment I'm unsure how they want device-independent bugs to be reported and I'm quite busy these days.
  3. Can you share a photo of the new power menu? I remember that the power menu regressed from Nougat to Oreo, which made me stay on Nougat for a long time on the previous phone.
  4. Yeah, but I'm 99.9% sure that the same issue holds for 18.1. I submitted a patch with gps fixes in https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_fxtec_pro1/+/308056
  5. Can you report an issue to LineageOS that it should provide a setting to enable/disable AGPS, so that gps.conf doesn't have to be modified?
  6. Normally you could make a twrp backup, upgrade and rollback if things are not as expected... but we still don't have twrp for pro1/lineage, do we? (the last time I checked it was only for sailfish)
  7. that's the sailfish tpu one?
  8. no, you're just losing root. but that was on 17.1, I'm still waiting until 18.1 has all bugs ironed out
  9. When you're using the LOS updater, at some point it prompts you to reboot to finish the upgrade. At this point you can enter Magisk > Install > Install to inactive slot (after OTA). after this finishes, you can reboot and finish the upgrade.
  10. LineageOS devs seem to be disinterested too, they treat gapps-free users as weirdos.
  11. Agreed. Unfortunately, it's not that straightforward to implement.
  12. I haven't yet updated to 18.1 but on 17.1 I used the "flash to inactive slot" function of the Magisk app while installing the OTAs using the built-in updater.
  13. I looked at `gps.conf` for OnePlus 3 and it has similar changes in the LineageOS source tree. [1] I'll create a code review to make a similar change for Pro1 next week. cc @tdm [1] https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_oneplus3/blob/lineage-18.1/gps/etc/gps.conf
  14. I'll check if it helps, thanks! Is there any reason why some of these changes are not in the official LineageOS? The relevant file is https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_fxtec_pro1/blob/lineage-18.1/configs/gps/gps.conf I can submit a change to LineageOS gerrit if it's the only reason.
  15. Is there any way to improve the speed of getting a GPS fix? Today I was walking in the city 3 hours ago and it took the phone about 10 minutes to get a fix. The previous fix was 3 or 4 days ago in the same city. The device quickly discovered some GLONASS satellites. After 3-4 minutes it discovered a couple of GPS satellites, but was still not enough to get a fix. I'm located in Poland. It looks like it's an issue with cold fixes, because right now I'm getting an immediate GPS fix. (the previous fix 3 hours ago)
  16. Is it possible to preserve Magisk while applying the OTA update? I had to reflash Magisk after one.
  17. I'd like to print the typical one, I stick to LineageOS 🙂
  18. Could you please share the files, so that I could print it myself? Thanks.
  19. If it's a modified design, which design is it based on?
  20. I printed the design by @LIMA on a Prusa i3 MK3, 0.1mm layer and the case was too small (there's 0.6mm of difference). I'll share my adjustments when I find them right. 🙂 Btw. @LIMA do you accept donations? I really appreciate the fact that you share your designs including sources.
  21. the OP zip has a md5sum mismatch: b17c3fd98d9c5f1ea7c8d8e04f4cbe72, downloaded twice
  22. @LIMAthank you very much for sharing the case and the f3d sources! You're totally awesome! Did you think about adding a slideable camera cover similar to the one good ol' N900 had to protect the camera? This will definitely be tricky to design, but if one can 3D print a flexirex, this should also be possible. Do you think FDM/PLA or SLA/resin would be better for that case?
  23. what's the recommended version to flash as of now? Some December posts mention builds newer than 2020-11-02
