Slion 1,201
I created that F(x)tec Community on GitHub. Get in touch if you want me to add your GitHub account to the community. I'm hoping we could start using it to keep track of stock Android bugs and feature requests. Edited March 4, 2020 by Slion
EskeRahn 5,460
We really should have somewhere offical... We already got this unofficial one: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15uE12Yv5nMvIF42U33cY5FQoF6M66QIn00cC876uf7Y/edit#gid=0

There you go 🤣 He he, well I would rather have @Waxberry or @Erik do that.... AND it should have a 'secret' part we as users could not see. E.g. the priority of each bug/wish. And any known bugs no users have stumbled into yet, that they hope to fix before the public even know it existed. It is common practise on security bugs to not tell about them before they are fixed.
tdm 2,322
Certainly it would be nice if someone official created an issue tracker. But until that happens, I think github issue tracker is much nicer than a spreadsheet. If someone could import the spreadsheet into the issue tracker that would be really nice. Heck, I might even make a new stock build with some of the issues fixed... 😄 5

It's not hard to add a minimal GMS. So I could make an "almost" stock that is signed with a different key. Obviously my version would not get OTA updates, I would have to provide updates myself.

But the whole code is available? Then again we may as well use Lineage instead. Though I guess we could prepare patches for LTE to integreate which could speed things up. That's if LTE don't go bust because of virus.

Kind of you to offer, but it seems a bit odd to make a parallel build. If you got the applicable fixes it would make more sense to have F(x)tec implement them. Though I obviously do not know how close/far we are from a new OTA update, with the current COVID19 situation.

Because @tdm's time is so limited, my personal take is it's best to just stick with Lineage related coding, despite his overflowing generosity. There are still important LOS issues like the notification LED to be worked out! ...just saying 😇

tdm 2,322
I'm trying to push a release out today, but it may slip to tomorrow morning (Seattle time, naturally). The current fixes include fixed notification lights, fixed wifi signal strength, and a delay for failed fingerprint authentication. COVID-19 affects development because I am in Seattle which is currently in full freak-out mode over the virus. Fortunately it hasn't hampered me that much (yet). 1 4

Well of course guessing, but seems rather likely that they work at an office, and not all with the option to work from home. Of course we could be lucky that this is in an area of China not yet affected. But not that likely.
Hook 3,021
I would bet that the problem is that IdeaLTE programmers are dependent on servers where the security protocols were never set up for work from home. Probably all outside logging in is blocked and locked down.
Craig 1,435
I also agree he should spend time getting Lineage perfect, with the hope that when ideallte does get back to work, they implement as much of it as possible in stock themself! My understanding is all of tdms work is open for ideallte to look at and straight out copy if they want, or maybe I should pay attention to licenses and stuff... but doubt they do unless forced to by whoever hires them 😉 Edited March 5, 2020 by Craig
