  1. I acknowledge and respect the above experience. Just want to share that so far my experience has been more positive as I only set up the pro 1 recently: I benefited from the updated software, and from the tips of the community (Thread below). I am not a phone expert, but I could follow the advices which solve many of the problems listed above. Even using android stock, I am quite happy with the experience.

  2. Same here, they will send me a new display when they get new ones. Also they asked me to send them the old one for investigation. I hope they can get money back from their supplier as this really looks like a production fault.

  3. I just today morning shot a video for Fxtec support about this issue, and they promised to send me a new display. Quite fast response from their side!

  4. My ear speaker broke lately. (The one you use in calls) Not exactly sure how. Maybe the phone fell too hard onto my couch, or I've used it too rough? Who knows. Anyway I quickly found out after not hearing anyone whom I've called - but the normal speaker did work. So I had to speak to them with the loudspeaker on in public, like a moron. As I didn't want to send back the phone and wait for repair I've asked the support if I can fix it on my own. My initial guess was a simple loose contact as the speaker functions if I firmly press on the speakers region. This is what you should also

  5. Funny, the small width of the Priv is wat forced me to ditch that phone. That and the unlockable bootloader/lack of OS-upgrade. If I recall correctly I have owned all Qtek/HTC/Motorola landscape keyboard phones. Priv was my first portrait. Apart from the width I was very happy with it. My daughter used one until last Saturday. She seems very happy with her Pro1, as am I. Do not understimate the difference between landscape en portrait width. You say you don't need the upgrade. But if my reason to buy a new phone was based on improved performance, and I could get decent money for my curren

  6. I wouldn't say bad coding. They just don't plan for a low frequency use case when it would require little effort on their part because Android does the heavy lifting and does it quite well. Luckily, split screen handles the few stubborn apps I use-- and mostly the ones that won't do landscape are not very keyboard intensive (weather, bank) so it's actually fine to just flip a moment and do them. My answer to this question would be to simply ask how much you like Blackberrys. I had several, all work issued, and I hated them. I find portrait keyboards cramped and impossible to type on,

  7. the last dump is where it just would not charge, slow charging displayed... and power still going down. It seems to have sorted its self somewhat.

  8. I have been considering something similar but not quite the same reasons. But I have been considering just getting a Nokia Flip for phone tasks messaging / whats app and actually phoning people! and using Pro1 for everything else gaming, ssh, email, sat nav. Main reason is I see the pro1 as quite fragile and easily knocked out of my hands while out and about. A £80 phone getting destroyed I wouldn't care so much.

  10. I often use Teamviewer on my pro1, it's like it was made for this but I don't get your bug on my phone. I'm on Lineage btw

  11. I used to like the moto Z for this reason, they put a "shatter proof screen" thick plastic touch screen but it was prone to scratch. so adding a tempered glass and keeping some in spare was perfect from my point of view. Aside of this, I just replaced my Pro1 LCD with a $69 elephone, it's not easy like replacing the lcd assembly but it's pretty easy vs a lot of other phone i done in the past. I remember taking apart my Motorola Milestone, it needed to be disassembled from the bottom all the way up to the touch screen, so yes pretty easy job to do on the pro1

  12. I once had an issue with my charger that would only charge devices at slow speeds. Turned out I hadn't inserted the USB A connector all the way. Do you have the Pro1 in a case maybe?

  13. I really wish FxTec was more communicative. It's super sad to see all the reading between the lines, guessing, and tossing information together because nobody is told what is actually happening or not. I'm not officially authorized to say anything about OTAs, but I will just say don't hold your breath for stock Q or R. But of course Lineage should have Q in probably a couple weeks and then R pretty much as soon as all the other devices.
