This is intended as a central entry point with links to known ROMs for the PRO1/PRO1X. You will need android adb / fastboot tools that officially can be found here (Windows / Linux / mAc) Important step BEFORE changing from Android initially!! If you want to ever be able to change the phone back to the state it had when you received it with stock Android, there is an important step that is needed before flashing any non android-based ROM, That is to backup the persist partition. If the device is unlocked and a recovery boot is present a fairly simple partition backup method (fo9 points

LXC is such a good combination with the Pro¹ that it might be worth a video on the official forum, even though I'm not very active here: - LBRY for good connections (big file): https://open.lbry.com/@Kab:7/LXC_sailfishos_Pro1:b?r=BZ8k2XPpJvbZhRttC15UQs34pYd2SS97 - Youtube for slower connections: https://youtu.be/-dgD5jci8Dk DESCRIPTION Sorry for the annoying accent. This is an overview of full desktop Linux distributions running as LXC containers in SailfishOS, on a F(x)tec Pro1 qwerty slider phone. If not interested in Sailfish itself, jump to 06'23" f5 points

Yeah it's probably related to the different way of doing custom settings. I'll get that done next build.3 points

I don't mean to self promote, the following guide it is not necessarily better than the guide on the forum, but it should be more comprehensive and provides a link to the Sailfish CI images: https://gist.github.com/Kabouik/f77539b3eb6a77b032d2fa827271b81d2 points

You can get the app drawer button back in Nova, I certainly have it. You'll need to add the button back as a widget: Long press an empty spot on the home screen Tap on widgets Tap and drag the Nova action shortcut (should be the first one) into the dock or where ever you want it Then tap on App drawer in the Nova Action menu2 points

I've done a first build of AICP Q using the Lineage 17.1 sources as a base. After it is tested for a while, I will probably try to get official support. The boot image is used just as in the Lineage test builds. Flash it with fastboot, boot into recovery, and then flash the main zip. If you want gapps, I tested OpenGapps pico for Android 10.0. Don't forget to switch slots before flashing gapps. Please report any issues and I will try to sort them out. I shoulda been more clear about that in the video probably, I may addendum in the description if i can figure out how to word it non-confusingly.1 point

Yes then I misunderstood. I believe we can disassemble the phone with screws only, if you see the frame, the key-pcb and the keyboard as one unit.1 point

Nice review. A tiny detail. The keyboard is not held by the two screws at the front. The keyboard is attached with some adhesive.1 point

if anyone has the gapps issue with the version 17 thats now live. 1. adb sideload Lineage Image 2. adb sideload Gapps 3. Reboot and boot into the Lineage (set up the phone until you are on the home screen) 4. Boot into Recovery Mode again 6. adb sideload Gapps again. Then it works1 point

My apologies, I think that functionality existed in Nova running on Android 9 (LOS 16) but something messed it up in Android 10 (LOS 17). No spontaneous reboots here and I did not wipe my phone either. It's been up for over 42 hours since the last (user initiated) reboot.1 point

I just pushed the newest version there too so it should turn up soon I hope. No ads no, the in-app purchase is not being used actually. I'm planning to add a very low yearly subscription fee that may enable some features. Maybe I'll limit the number of tabs or something. Anyway this is still work in progress and it could be a while until any of that is implemented. I'm thinking one time in-app purchase to sponsor development of some features could be nice too.1 point

Being a former Priv user, I had gotten used to spontaneous reboots. Fortunately 17.1 has been rock stable these couple days. Even better than 16.0 (wifi connections are way more stable). Only problem I had is I ran out of battery completely yesterday, and when I plugged it in it started but the screen digitiser was not working i.e. the phone wouldn't register my tapping, swiping etc. I manages to use the keyboard to restart the phone, it started to work again. If anybody need to do this: open the keyboard, push the power button for a couple seconds to bring up the poweroff / restart1 point

Notice, not surprising, the play store version is one version behind the version I have, Just curious, what is/are the in-app purchase(s). Just a support option? It doesn't have ads, right?1 point

Now available on PlayStore for free. Five stars reviews are welcome, others not so much 😁1 point

Assuming you are using the default AOSP virtual keyboard, the vibrate on keypress toggle in in the preferences for that keyboard.1 point

Okay, I had used the zip for 20.4 add it seemed to fail, though I can't swear I didn't type something wrong. I just tried 21.0 and it worked just fine flashed from recovery! Yay! I'm rooted.1 point

I did, I prefer firefox because it allows keeping up with subscriptions and other such features easier. Newpipe is nice though :).1 point

My pro1 took a little vacation to London to be repaired, and it's now back, so I'm setting it up again. In the stock camera app, if I select "SD Card" for storage, it's writing the files to Android/data/org.codeaurora.snapcam/files rather than to DCIM/Camera. I thought this wasn't the case the last time I had a pro1 set up... Is there a way to get the stock camera to store photos in the standard place (I.E. DCIM/Camera) on the SD card? (and the card is set up as external, not adopted storage. I want it to be usable as a way to move files on and off the device)1 point

Woohoo! Even I managed to upgrade this time and I'm one of your dimmest members, spoilt by just running BB10 autoloaders and the occasional sideload through a GUI for all these years! Good riddance to the awful navigation buttons from previous Android and hello being able to go back on the left of the screen whether it is in portrait or landscape mode! I like Android a tiny bit more now!1 point

Don't you hate it when moderators go off topic 🤣 I mean if you want to discuss moderation go create a thread for it instead of hijacking honest threads about clacking 🤣😂 Sorry just taking the piss, feel free to moderate that 😁 That's all light hearted, so don't you worry about hurting my feelings mate. On a more serious note, strictly moderating a large successful community is an impossible task. The world wide success of wikis as long proven that trust and self moderating communities is the way to go. Duplicate topics on forums are actually a good thing as it improves the chance1 point

....And here another slow motion opening both the Pro1 and a flip case in one go by the lift front method. YouCut_20200123_155044091.mp41 point
