Finally i got my third Pro1

Hey all, I've been using Ubuntu touch for about a week now and Ive started working on patching some of the issues with them. I thought some of these fixes would be appreciated by you and I also wanted a public forum to discuss problems and potential solutions for them. The main issues I have noticed with fresh install of Ubuntu touch my new pro 1 are as follows: GPS ❌ - Straight up not working. I may be able to patch driver support across from the lineage git but im too busy rn. Flashlight ❌ - I believe this one shouldn't be to hard to patch, just a matter of finding the right g

I have sorted it out. its qwertz so i had to select german instead of english. that makes kb works correctly

Alright, after toying with it for a few days I have cracked dual booting and decided to write up the steps myself. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DATA DOING THIS. Credit to @order#10248 for proving the concept. First thing you will want to do is re-flash stock android on your phone. There isn't an official repo for this yet but @Waxberry has kindly provided one on this post. @Raksura wrote this list a while back and from my testing and with my patched the following are now working: Backlight, Cellular Internet, MMS and Telephony. So it is getting much more usable as a daily driver IMO.

Exactly. You may also try Finqwerty if you would like to use other layouts fit for QWERTZ keyboard.

It works with Pro1, however, a bit more complicated to replace as it does not come together with a frame. However, as far as I have found, these displays (at Aliexpress) are not perfect, so you should expect some (mostly minor) problems like smaller or bigger blank (black surface) area at one or two corners. I have even received a display which has a relatively large black spot in a very wrong place. So, generally they are useable, but some minor problems (mostly acceptable) are exists, so it is unlikely you will receive an absolutely perfect one. I have replaced my display

So I finally set up my Pro1 to use as my main phone last weekend. Previously it had mostly sat locked away in between experimentations with LineageOS 16.0, then my own builds of 17.1 with MicroG (not to mention trying to make my own silicone phone case, that did not go well), but now I just use the 18.1 MicroG builds. My Droid 4 has now been retired, as has the Moto Z Play that I bought for use with the keyboard mod that never was (migrating 2 phones worth of apps/data was a big effort I don't want to go through again). Still have distorted calls - very muffled. I'm on Lineage 18.1 and turning of the 4G calls and WiFi calls seems to have reduced the frequency of the muffling... maybe but it's still happening. :(

Has anyone completed a case for this device yet? I really want one but haven't had any luck finding one?
