  1. I think USB is basically stable especially on a Linux system... However, a root USB HUB may contain more USB devices, so more USB ports of a PC can be connected to the same root HUB while also internal devices may use the very same root HUB (like internal bluetooth, webcamera, fingerprint sensor, card reader, WLAN device, etc). So if you (or your PC) share the same BUS between several devices, then it also needs time to serve those devices. So it may also add more or less delay to your communication which the device will or will not tolerate. As this protocol seems to be picky

  2. Thanks for reminding me of that insightful table. No, I didn't exclude anything from the restore, only Chrome and Maps after TB got stuck or complained. I didn't even have in mind that switching the GApps package could have made a difference ("what could go wrong") at the time... Ok, then I guess it's back to step 4. – probably best if I choose MindTheGapps again for the new attempt..

  3. You might want to try the 'AccuBattery' app for that; to record charge and discharge periods is one of its features.

  4. I always find it best to install the Google USB driver. Windows doesn't always install a compatible one. https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb

  5. I am not familiar with 3D printing but sometimes some adjustments are also made in the slicer which may also needed to do some compensation between different 3D printers...

  6. In Lineage 18.1, just pressing the left Alt key seems to work, unless (this is just a theory) the app takes over the keyboard assignments. So, for example, Google Messages (sms), Aquamail, Facebork Messenger (don't judge me, Mrs. Hook insists on using it) and a text editor,Markor, will all give me an emoji pallatte when I press left Alt. However, Softmaker Textmaker, which hasit's own key assignment shortcuts, does not. It may depend on what soft keyboard you are using. I use the AOSP keyboard and it has an actual setting to have emoji appear when using the physical keyboard.

  7. Follow up: it happened again, this time after using dumb chargers only, also LOS18.1. Battery was below 50%. I'll start recording battery % and uptime before each charge to see if there's a pattern.

  8. In Lineage 16.0, that key combination (Yellow Arrow + Alt) brings up an emoji selector box. Works in all apps I have tested.

  9. fastboot is extremely picky about the USB connection. Try different ports and cables. If you are on Windows some missing USB driver required by fastboot (but not by adb) could also be the issue (source). I have no Windows so I can't help much with that. I have found a Raspberry Pi (3) to be the most stable solution for flashing my Pro1. It never had any connection issues (as opposed to my PCs) and adb and fastboot are trivial to install using the Raspbian package management.

  10. Yes, they're slow end even erratic in answering emails... Also, sending multiple emails on the same subject is prone to slow things down even further, because that's how they said their ticket system works; another ticket on the same issue moves the issue to the end of the queue. That said, shouldn't your not being at home for a parcel be a subject between you and the parcel service? [Edit : didn't see your post in the other thread earlier]

  12. So support FINALLY replied to me after sending 3 emails and a tweet, now my screen has been further pushed out to October. Think I'm about to just give up on this phone and move my Moto One Hyper as the primary. And the screen isn't the only thing that's bugging me now, I recently found out that my reception problems was the phone itself. I couldn't sustain a phone call properly in my room, but when I put my SIM into the Moto, it conducted phone calls perfectly fine even with just the 1 bar of signal.
