  1. Uploaded my LOS 16.0 build dated 20211017. AOSP patchlevel of October 2021. Contains a version of @Slion's experimental "Fn-Tab-as-Alt-Tab" mod as discussed above.

  2. I am interested to hear from you which experiences you made in comparison with both. Especially, I am curious if the updating works in AICP. I have only used Lineage OS so far, and I tried a few times to upgrade the ROM with the internal upgrader, and afterwards the phone didn't boot anymore (I have Magisk root, and disk encrypted, that seems to be a problematic combination). Does this work with AICP?

  3. Honestly, this is why I happily carry two phones, a Moto G8 Power and my Pro1. My Moto is my phone phone. Phone calls, sms/mms, Android Auto hands free functions, all my stubbornly portrait apps which are mostly bank and commercial apps I mostly use out in the world anyway. My Pro1 I use for writing, editing, notes (including a Bonsai like hierarchical note app that along with Textmaker gives me the basic capability of Scrivener across 3 platforms), browsing, email, ssh, things I would never do on a portrait phone even with a keyboard (I find portrait keyboards frustrating-- just too small

  4. I haven't tried AICP yet because LOS 18.1 has been working nicely, including OTA updates wich leave both GApps and Magisk intact. Also, according to the settings page, my phone is encrypyted, too.

  5. I agree that Fxtec's keyboard design is better for most purposes, even though some people complain about it being too wide for comfortable thumb typing. I cannot confirm this; I have rather small hands and I got used to its dimensions very quickly. That Pinephone slider keyboard prototype looks a lot like what the Fxtec people (then named Livermorium) tried to do for the Moto Z series of Motorola phones with their Keyboard Mod!

  6. I feel similar to Hook. The lineage is a cleaned up Android, where you can infest it with the Gapps you need or none at all to your liking. The Aicp is (in my layman terms) like a Lineage with added options to tweak as you please. I like the AICP better, as it somehow feels cleaner. But I must admit that I barely use all the options, as none of the OS's are on my daily driver (a normal retail unit) that runs plain Android. I have a suspicion (though I have not yet tested!) that some of my apps will not work if I upgrade from stock Android to AICP. One app that I find crucial with a fli

  7. On Lineage OS 18.1 I keep getting in situations where the fingerprint sensor won't work until I unlock to phone with PIN. That was somewhat of an issue before but since I changed my case it's annoying to the point where the fingerprint sensor is almost useless. I'm assuming most those issues are related to the fact that the fingerprint sensor gets temporary locked after 5 failed attempts and permanently locked after 20 failed attempts. Though on stock it would show a message on the lock screen telling you your fingerprint sensor is disabled, on LOS I don't get such message. My new case en

  8. Actually I really enjoy that kind of manual activity, it is such pleasant change from software engineering.

  9. Here is an image of the keyboard prototype for the pinephone. Appears very similar to planet computers keyboard design. I still feel fxtec pro1 keyboard geared toward thumb typing and a full 60% keyboard layout is vastly preferable for linux users to this type of layout. Hopefully, pinephone will make a slider keyboard with a layout similar to pro1's one day. Actually, it sounds like they're already working on one: https://liliputing.com/2020/07/pinephone-linux-smartphone-could-get-a-slide-out-keyboard-acessory.html

  10. I've ordered a Chargie a couple of months ago, because I had problems with AccA (if you're root that's the best battery control app). At first it worked great, but after a week I had regularly all kinds of problems: The app not connecting with the chargie, chargie not stopping to charge (so battery was always at 100), or chargie not charging (so the battery drained). Overall I am fairly disappointed with chargie, and I am glad that with an update of AccA/acc it works again. Also chargie claims they could work without the app, but I never managed to get this to run.
