  1. For the sake of fairness and good order, I received an email confirming my refund yesterday and the money has just arrived in my account. I wanted to look at getting Gentoo up and running on the 1-X but that will go on hold until something else comes along.

  2. Concerning: As you mentioned earlier, your present system is rooted. It might thus be of interest to you that LineageOS 16.0 was the last major release with built-in root management ("AddonSU"). Starting from 17.1 you have to use Magisk for rooting, which I am sure will work, but may require to do differently whatever you are using your root access for.

  3. There might be some dirt or lint in the charging port if it doesn't click anymore, it can be cleaned very carefully. The usb port on the phone is very sturdy and i say it won't fail easily, my unit had the cable that is connecting the usb to the mainboard loose and it was easy to fix when i opened the phone. Symptoms then were that it started charging only when i tilted the charging cable.

  4. And this does not change after a regular reboot? If it would, it could be related to this (unsolved as of yet) issue:

  5. You can (at least up to Magisk 23-- since my Pro1 is in for repairs, I haven't tried version 24) rename the apk as a zip file and flash it, just as you do with SUaddon. It will give you root without Magisk manager and any boot sector dance. This method is depreciated, but it works.

  6. Actually, I just thought of a more simple test for this. I realised that the Lineage (16.0) recovery system supports the Pro1's hardware keyboard: when I boot into recovery, I can navigate through its menu using the up/down-arrow, return, and backspace keys on the keyboard. Could you check if this works on your phone? If yes, this would clearly demonstrate that the keyboard itself is fine. If not, I think it would be strong indication of a hardware failure and your chances of fixing things by reinstalling the system would be slim ...

  7. I have the same problem since a while. If it shows "slow charging", I have to move or turn around the Type-C connector until I see "Charging" and see if it remains "Charging" instead of switching back to "slow charging" which practically means it may even discharge overnight or at least it will not gain usable charge. This is because my Type-C connector has started to worn, more at one side and less at its other side, so I see conductors in the connector are in bad condition. I have contacted F(x)tec about this problem and they have promised me to "book" a replacement USB board

  8. (lineage-18.1-20220214-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on January 5 security patch installed smoothly using OTA ) ...But the reintroduced (early August) Accessibility / keyboard bug is not (yet) fixed. The stage after download and install called "Finalising package installation" is surprising slow though)

  10. Didn't find this topic which I think is a nice feature on maemo forum. So hello to everyone and happy new year 2022! I am hoping to be a new Pro1X user on february. Hoped I would have got it as a birthday present to myself on last march but didn't happen. I have been hassling with Nokia N900 devices for some years and managed to save 70 pieces of them from three crackheads who were thinking of using them as burner phones! They weren't in good condition (I mean the devices) but I am putting them together to contribute them to Maemo Leste developers. Have been sending working one

  11. Recently my Pro1 has been giving me grief with charging shenanigans. Sometimes it won't charge or charges so slowly it can take up to 4 or 5 hours to charge as little as 5%. When it's plugged into the charger and being used it will discharge at a rate of around 5-10% an hour and when it goes into standby after use it either won't start charging again or it will take literally ages to charge back to full capacity. I've run it right down to empty to see if a full charge from 0% would make any difference. I have plugged in a tester and taken a photo of the readings. Have a look and see what

  12. Bingo! Exactly how it works for me. The USB connector used to to "click" when it was pushed into the socket. It no longer does that now. Looks like I'll have to contact Fxtec and join the queue for a new socket.
