  2. Just for the record, their linxdot forums have also turned private, with no option to join. There seems to be a Discord channel, though, which can be entered.

  3. I hope you are right, but if so a bit odd they did not provide a link on the new front page. Time will tell if it will be added later... could also be that they just archived it for now,, until they decide what to do.

  4. ...and it also looks better from this viewpoint... So if they want to have a more general opening page where they can show their different products and smartphones are only one category of them, then it may be a good sign... 🙂 (So they may not want to shut down their smartphone business but extend (incorporate) their other product lines...)

  5. Ah! so they sort of moved www.fxtec.com to www.fxtec.com/smartphones So anything with relative links works there

  6. As I found with a different set of links, not everything on those pages work though it's true they don't take you to the new page... they just don't work. And neither link has the videos, although they are still available HERE and HERE (on the second link you have to scroll down to find the take apart and repair videos).

  7. Another difference is (at least for the very first hundreds of Pro1) is the gluing strength of the display. (F(x)tec covered almost its entire back of the display leaving only edges for fixing display to frame - they apparently modified this solution to fully use display's original sticky part without covering.) By mistake, once I have ordered an Elephone U Pro display together with its frame. It was a metal frame (so very rigid) and display was fully glued to the surface (whole sticky area was used) - it was not easy to remove it to be used in Pro1. Definitively there is a reas

  8. @VaZso Check this 'fix' for your ghost touch problems. I've had no issues about it anymore. The touch problem didn't appear with the original Elephone U Pro so the display itself can't be at fault. My guess is that FxTec left too little space for the touch screen ribbon cable and therefore squeezed it too much. By natural movement (i.e. in pockets), the ribbon cable lines eventually brakes right where the plastic corner of the frame is.

  10. Oh, I missed the question...! There is a fairly easy way to statically add kcm files with the need to build and install a new apk after adding – not dynamically, though. https://community.fxtec.com/topic/3848-pro1-x-us-and-us-intl-with-dead-keys-keyboard-layouts-finqwerty/?tab=comments#comment-65908 I cloned FinQwerty, I think I modified pro1x_qwerty_usa_1.kcm because it had a bug, then I created a new kcm file pro1x_qwerty_usaintl_1.kcm (to use myself), added entries for the latter in generate_layouts.py and in the finqwerty_layouts.xml and built a new apk (using IntelliJ IDEA

  11. Of course much of the forum's content is not exactly helping the company's reputation, and with a public forum that content must have been showing up in all kinds of search engine results. TBH, I had been expecting them to do something about that rather sooner than only now. Maybe some inconvenient questions turned up in the context of their recent/current connection to that new "Clicks for iPhone" device (https://community.fxtec.com/topic/4062-self-built-slider/?tab=comments#comment-68348), and that drove them to take some action?

  12. It appears that the forum has indeed transitioned to a private mode, restricting access to registered users only. This change may indicate a shift in strategy by FxTec to mitigate public exposure of any issues. While it's understandable to feel disappointed by the lack of accountability and unresolved refunds, it's crucial to consider migrating valuable information elsewhere before potential closure. As for alternative devices, exploring options like the Honor Magic V2 could offer a fresh perspective and improved user experience.

  13. https://www.clicks.tech/about literally the same building as fxtec. I am not 100% sure it's them but the probability of it being a coincidence is very low (checking on streetview and it's not like it's a giant office with hundreds of companies there). The fact that they don't mention that they are fxtec is very fishy IMO. It's like they perfected this scheme of launching a credible site with lots of FAQ and order options and then it catastrophically fails. I would avoid that project like the plague until it hits the shelves or is available to directly order. They already tried some
