  1. A little hard to see. Is it the back only, or also a screen protector? The pure transparent will quickly risk looking worn when scratched, so I'm for a softer material. For the BB Priv I have bought a bunch that I guess are made from PU that has been rubberised. It gives a good grip and reasonable protection. I think it is like this one. (And I have combined it with a tempered glass protector, that I have changed about every 1-2 months) SUGGESTION: Make a collaboration with someone making external QI-recievers like e.g. this one or this one (or what ever fits best), and make matching cut
  2. David and abowers, yup *LOL*. Manufacturers generally think that lesser must be combined with mediocre or worse.... :-( I usually use this link to expose the VERY limited availability. All I request is at the most 65mm wide, and at the least FHD - and get TWO, of which ONE is available outside Japan.... Pretty absurd with so little variation in all the phablets that are pumped out. Different people different needs/wishes.... and this SHOULD lead to different products by normal market mechanisms - but oddly it does not seem to happen? ...Maybe people are getting tired of more of the s
  3. Well abowers, I'm with you part of the way. But the thought of removing columns of keys gets a big NO from me or we would end up with a keyboard only really suited for countries with alphabets limited to A-Z. The 14 columns are one of the long awaited things with the Pro¹, as is the fifth row for numbers.. So I hope any future more compact version would keep the overall keyboard design, but 'just' shrink everything 8:9 The limitation by the size as I see it is primarily the one handed operation in portrait, but there are possible software-tricks that might help here, that I hope they'll im
  4. Oh I'm not talking cosmetic clean, but when dirt gets into the rails, and gives an uneven movement
  5. Unfortunately no. It will be interesting to see how they'll crack that one. Not at all easy to make a case for a slider.
  6. From the per-order page LAUNCH OFFER: All pre-orders will receive a free pair of Limited Edition F(x)tec earphones & F(x)tec Pro1 case (My emphasizing)
  7. Just tried to compare with the widely praised E7. The tilt of the Pro¹ seems almost identical, maybe 1-2° more flat than the E7. I for one started with a tilted one, and considered it a step back with the flat Xperia Pro and BB Priv. Especially the cleaning of the 'rails' of the flat sliders is a nightmare, as it is almost impossible to get to. I usually tried to fiddle with sticking in a somewhat stiff piece of paper like an old ticket, and a lot of blowing. The N97min was MUCH easier to clean. I think that it was designed to ALSO be able to be used comfortably on a table.
  8. Steven, It is a perspective thing of the photo. From the engadget hands on here, we have this And Venturebeat have this here I haven't measured, but the 25° tilt does not seem far off... (Why it is labeled 155° in the description is beyond me, as 0° would thus be display facing down, but luckily this is NOT a clamshell)
  9. Will be interesting when someone shows a disassembly indeed. I noticed the small 'notch' between the frame and the space key (see e.g. 36s in in the XDA video above), that must be there for a reason. So if we are very lucky, the keyboard is clicked in. Keeping my fingers crossed....
  10. Steven, I too hope for open access to the layout, and hopefully even without rooting. And there is a thread also with that here.
  11. Well I'm with netman here. I would take almost any physical version of the device to get a real landscape keyboard slider. I'm in no way in love with the edge design, as mentioned very early on, I too would have preferred the whole thing reduced. But I'm quite sure they have taken long and thorough considerations on what size and design to go for. I mean I'm sure a simple flat screen is still cheaper so if they believed that is what people want, they would have gone for that. By going this big, the keys are 10mm apart so some people with fine fingers could even do full ten-finger typing
  12. Ah sorry, misunderstood you as the links did not work. It is the time offsets that are incorrectly ignored, yes I can reproduce that bug..
  13. Currently they seem to operate with THREE levels. (If I get it right...) The "my account" for us as persons (and potential customers in the shop), and then an "account" for the forum derived from that, and finally a "profile" as how we appear in the forum for others. When logged in, we have these three: * https://www.fxtec.com/my-account * https://www.fxtec.com/account * https://www.fxtec.com/user So no wonder if we as users get a little confused here....
  14. That was odd. Could it be related to your two different names? Try making them temporarily equal, and see if that does the trick (and then of course change it back as you please afterwards)
  15. The YouTube links works fine here (tried FF and Chrome) could it be an adblocker or similar that is blocking it from popping up? It comes up as a dark overlay gallery window, most likely done as a pop-up.
  16. Under "My Account" and Notifications we can select/deselect newsletters
  17. On the change of avatar, it is not that intuitive, as they work with both "Account" and "Profile", I was quite confused by that too.... E.g. Click your user name on a comment OR from your account, this will bring you to your "Profile", and here click the cogwheel
  18. Hi Craig, Well I'm a moderator in here, but have no access to the user accounts, only the comments. The Forum is very new, so I guess more functionality will be coming, like flagging for moderation - that I hope we will never need of course. :-)
  19. Let me put it this way, have you tried using a laptop opened flat? ;-) I for one LOVED the tilted screens of the Nokias over the flat slide of the SonyEriccsons. On a device with the keyboard in the 'wrong' direction like the BB Priv, a tilt would be odd though.. As a benefit, the mechanism with two 'arms' of different length of the Nokias was much easier to blow clean from pocket lint and the like than the straight sliders, that are quite hard to clean if dirt gets into the rails. So I for one is VERY pleased that it is the approach they have chosen for the Pro¹. The only minus is
  20. I'm not talking in absolutes here. Just that we should be aware that things can have a flip side. I use fast charging from time to time, and also uses wireless charging. Accepting the extra toll. But I would not use fast wireless charging all the time, no matter how convenient it might feel. Yes charging with 250mA is a joke - that was the point.. (hence the LOL). It might be academically optimal but not a usable method in real life. Think of it like human health. We know that eating junk food is bad for us, but doing it occasionally is not a big deal, but if we do it every day it is.
  21. Do you also miss the snapping sound of a real keyboard slider? If so the XDA-developers preview got you covered over here https://www.xda-developers.com/files/2019/02/Fxtec-Pro-1-Sliding-Keyboard.mp4?_=1 It itches in my fingers to get my hands on it *LOL*
  22. achat_marken, just saw this post, That could be the reason. I do not know. Indeed wired charging ALSO warms up the battery, and the faster the worse. The issue is that it warms more with wireless, as the waste of the transfer through the coil ads onto the heat generated by the charging it self. So if you want to be kind to the battery you charge it wired over night by e.g. an old 500mA charger, or a PC port. But indeed the USB port is a vulnerable part of any phone, so this could also shorten the life of the device before service is needed... So we will need to handle it carefully, and b

  24. YampA, As I said I will do my best to push for that, and hopefully it can be done without rooting needed, without violating any google-rules (I haven't got a clue on what rules there are)
  25. Wauw 95%! where did you find that? Sounds like a miracle to me. Even a transformer with an iron core to help the magnetic transfer would have trouble reaching that. But yes 50% is a bad charger, 60-70% typically would most likely be more fair in 2019. And indeed as you mention in a car it is often vertically mounted, and that helps by simple convective cooling. The slower the charger the less the waste, and that means less heat, and thus less trouble. Region/season also matter, as, to LiIon, "Hot" already starts at around 30°C. So even a small raise in warmer climate matters. As a ge
