My last full qwerty phone was a Desire Z. The only reason for that being that the N900 didn't support Whatsapp and I needed it to stay connected. I'm in doubt... I loved the N900, going as far to buy a second hand replacement when the sim slot acted up. I didn't even mind the 3 row keyboard. But there was something about the E70 that just clicked with me. God... What I'd've done for an N950...

That alone is great news. It's a sign that you guys take your users serious. iFixit will have a fieldday with this phone!

Thanks for the heads up @EskeRahn. I tend to hold my phones pretty well so in all the time I've had a phone, falling has happened a total of about 20 or 30 times, and at least half of that are credited to Nokia's. I hardly drop my phone nowadays, so I'm content with Gorilla Glass. It has to be said that the largest I've handled is an HTC One; the LG q6 I'm using now doesn't come close to the Pro1, so I'll have to see how it handles...

I see there's a screenprotector being used. Not entirely fitting, but I guess it works good enough. Does it impair the front camera? Great to hear the good stories guys. It's one thing to hear from the company itself how nice and cool it is, it's another to hear it from the people who I consider to be the most hardcore when talking about keyboards. I'm not regretting my pre-order at all!

I think that custom-made controllers will be offered when the phone gains some traction. I bought a Game Grip for my N900 that slipped over the keys, offering a controller interface, and that worked wonders!

The IR blaster functionality is something that only few phones still feature. I was hyped for it with my HTC One, but in the end only used it to pull pranks on friends to show off the functionality. The FM transmitter of my N900, on the other hand, I did use. Especially with friends who had old car radio's, it was a life saver. I'm afraid the specs as given it's what will be final though...

What's probably going on is that they're gauging interest for the device before ramping up production, but in such a way that people who followed the Livermorium debacle don't feel like they're throwing money down a drain. I quite applaud this approach.

Confirmed. Thanks a bunch! Apparently there's several layers going on with settings. It's quite confusing... That being said, has anyone found where exactly you can change your avatar? When hitting the blank dude in the Account Settings, it navigates back to the profile page, instead of giving the option of changing it?

Perhaps there's a difference between making an account when pre-ordering, and when registering for the forums. That's the only possibility I can think of. Regardless, I want it changed.

I've worked with this angle for some time; trust me, you'll get used to it soon enough. Then again, a complete horizontal slider might be an idea for the Pro2.

I respectfully disagree. Next to the hinge, you also need circuitboards in both halves; a battery; a keyboard with travel. I think that a 14mm device in my pocket is fine. Sure, the Photon Q was 13.7mm, but I'm totally prepared to give the guys some slack with this, seeing as it is their first official product. Also: they don't have the manpower like Motorola or Nokia had available for R&D, so that's another point to consider as well.

Hey guys, I was wondering if one could change their username? This is not the way I prefer to be called around the web, so yeah, that'd be great. Also: when in the Settings tab, or anywhere else (like right now while typing this post), the Subscribe to Newsletter pop-up is quite annoying.
