You might want to remove that email address before some bot scraps it and you'll be overloaded with spam. Thanx @BX for the in-depth investigation, it was already said by FX themselves that the ordernumbers weren't sequential but I think people were just trying to stir a ruckus by continuing to imply they were. Just about 3 weeks to go...

It's almost as if a lot of people feel they are entitled to "more" than what they paid for. All the "I'm canceling because omg they do a lousy job" messages are from disgruntled people who are expecting a AAA-brand experience. I know I've said it before, but this was to be expected a little bit. They're doing the best they can and I'm sure there will be many more unexpected things that pop ul down the road. When they're the new Nokia, THEN you can whine about your product not being shipped on time. But for now, swallow it, and be glad they're giving us the form factor we all have been waiting

Hear hear. The negative attitude was such a bummer, I'm glad more people are getting on the positive bandwagon!

Throw in your offer for help directly through the FX team at info@fxtec.com because I think that will be way more effective, instead of hoping they'll see this post...

FCC Approval - Manual and Photos Available

The only user? You're looking at this wrong. MANUEL ALREADY HAS IT! I say we storm his house... -
Hooray official word! In my defence, my "mid-November" response came from a guestimation while reviewing what you guys said about maybe not being able to deliver on time past the first batch, and taking into consideration shipping time. I thought I made that clear, but it is now evident that people took the "I think this sounds reasonable" and took it as WE WON'T GET OUR HANDSETS BEFORE NOVEMBER. For that I am really sorry. That being said: really looking forward to unboxing this beauty! Girlfriend will have to entertain herself that day ;-)

I've been thinking about the whole "putting resources where they need them" thing... Wasn't... I think Erik... responsible for the whole forum? I remember talking to him in Düsseldorf and while he was snapping pictures, he confirmed that his only job was the forum and social media while telling that they were busy with the new forum software. So that beg sthe question: why is the new forum not up and running yet? That shouldn't be a a thing the core FX crew should bother themselves with, they've got personnel for that.

Yes, you are correct that the date keeps getting pushed back. But face it, we're throwing money at a small company which has (basically) no experience handling a project like this. They've just started and I, for one, am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is no Samsung with their huge ass marketing machine, or dozens upon dozens of engineers pumping out batch after batch of prototype. If I don't get my phone, sure, that fucking sucks. But this is kind of like dealing with a stock exchange: you might get burned. Deal with it. If you don't want to take the chance, cancel your o

I wish I could tell you. But the FCC authorization brings us one step closer to release, seeing as the cost associated with getting an approval lies around the $5.000,-. However, I also noticed that usually the procedure could take up to 12 weeks. I'm not entirely sure if the "grant" part of that link means it's fully accepted and ready for production (minus the EC grant, that is)... -

The Pro1 has hit the FCC. We're getting close! -
If pre-orders are going to be delayed, and with said pre-orders no guerantee you'd be getting your device in the first batch, taking into consideration it is a software thing, then first the indiegogo orders, then pre-orders will be delivered, then the pre-orders who weren't fast enough with paying (first come first serve) and after all that is finished the regular orders. So I'd say a delay to November isn't too much out of the realm of possibilities...
-
For now it looks like they've progressed past pre-order, and into order territory. Your device could ship as soon as November, but it could be later. FX mentioned that demand is high and that they probably can't give everyone that has pre-ordered their handsets in mid-October; you might have to wait a little while...

That's really nice yes. Seeing as there have been no significant changes since the July 31st message from FX, I think we'll have to roll with what we can do ourselves... -
I want to work with the phone as much as everyone else, but I understand that this needs to be an experience done right. The techblogs are having this phone squarely in their sights and if they completely trash the phone, you can be sure there won't be a Pro2. So even though it sucks (big time), I'd rather have them taking the time they need to get the product into our hands instead of rushing to a deadline that, in the end, will probably feel too rushed as well...

I find the whole ONG THIS ISN'T HERE and OMG WHY DOESN'T THE PHONE HAVE THIS UNIMPORTANT FEATURE a bit tiresome. A manual for a product that's not even released yet is something you don't even expect from a large company. The manuals that one does find is usually due to a leak, instead of intentionally released. I do, however, applaud a cheatsheet for the actions coupled to specific keys. Doesn't need to be printed though.
-
It might have to do with the mods still having to manually approve of everyone's posts. Then, if no comment is made by a mod, the subject page isn't updated, even though your post is actually there in the topic...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't pressing shift/alt once and then pressing the key you want to get the desired symbol also a sticky? Because I still type faster that way instead of reminding myself I need to press left and then use my right hand to get the symbol, and another symbol requires me to turn it around. I would not be happy with such a solution...
-
So that would mean a possibility of having the phone by the end of September...

Sequence of order processing + issues with orders
michael.bosscha replied to Doktor Oswaldo's topic in Support
OK, I'd say it's time for an update FX team. I've wired you The Money Lebowski, yet have not received a confirmation that you have it. I would very much like for one, because I'm totally hyped about the product and surely want to bump the hype factor to 9000 (or over) but I'm really hesitant in promoting a product which isn't in my hands yet... Are you on schedule for a September on-my-doorstep push? -
So... It's been awfully quiet here. Is everything alright?
-
Ah. Yeah, I just confirmed: it does look better @ 150%. But the "ideal line" still goes down with at least the y and the u. Isn't there a way to just change the CSS to use a more standard font? Also: getting a bit sick of the moderation queue here guys. Why isn't there a "people with more than 10 thanks don't need to wait" option in the software? That way you only moderate the newbies, which makes your lives much easier.

I noticed, though, that this problem doesn't arise on mobile; the font looks good there.
