Well, I'm also impatient and jumping with excitement looking for any news, but what much can we expect? The real thing we all want to know is when will we be receiving our magnificent pro1 in the mail I guess, and maybe some more teasing of pre-production units :-P. The reality at fxtec is probably like fixing dozens of small bugs in software and the pre-production hardware, and logistics things to sort out etc maybe, what can they tell us other than "we fixed this that and that other small issue you never know existed"? We already know pretty much what's coming and it looks great :).

Oh shittt! Hopefully there is still time to correct this before many are produced... Well noticed!

If it's really expired you should update the pre-order page, it still says the offer is extended by one week. They definitely look pretty awesome in the pictures, if they sound as good as they look they will be a nice complement to my collection of mostly over-ear sets :).

It's been a long time I've used it, only recently (since a few days) they require login for trivial stuff like viewing listings and searching. However it seems even if you where logged in before and the session expires you don't need to log in again unless doing something like viewing order history or buying something, so I am hardly aware of these changes.

Well [insert bad word] we paid too much xD...

Hmm trying in a second browser with cookies cleared, both links need login... Aliexpress has been a bit fussy lately even requiring login just for searches even (at least so I've been told), don't really know what the deal is with that.

I've ordered this one in hopes it will fit, I'll update when the phone releases and arrives here :). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32852486557.html

The IEMs already being in the works even gives me the impression that the phone itself is probably already trough most of the design stage and probably ready for production apart from maybe software :)... Telling it is planned for Juli is not a binding promise that it will be ready as things always can happen, but people will take it as one, so maybe it's a wise move to get some breathing room for them to state "summer" instead. I'm confident they will deliver relatively soon, they have come way too far to back out now. We should be patient and wish the team at fxtec a great success soon, as t

For me it is also a nice to have, the keyboard alone makes me need the device and nice snapdragon chip makes me confident it'll be great. It's however an awesome cherry on top making me confident the folks designing the phone are designing something they actually want to use themselves :).

I've never seen headphone jacks break the PCB they are on before, only seen the connectors themselves get corroded/damaged or have the male end of the connector stuck in them due to it breaking off in there. When there is no headphone jack we have to use the USB-C port with an adaptor in most phones if I understand it (or hang our audiophillic heads in defeat and listen via BT), and those tend to be a fair bit more susceptible to mechanical damage...
-
Haha, yeah! The situation is even very weird as usually the low-end and midrange phones have a headphone jack like they should, but when you pay more to get the fast, shiny and big phone no headphone connector for you... Usually also they give it a glass backside so when it falls and you get so lucky it lands screen-up something still breaks :-/. I never understood.

This is why the camera button also has me excited, fumbling around with touchscreens is frustrating and slow no matter what people tell themselves about it :). I believe launching the camera with a double press of the lock button is a standard feature in vanilla android nowadays (not totally sure but almost all phone's i've touched in the last few years have that), I've been used to double-press and then using another button to snap the picture which seems to be fast enough, however a two-stage button is really needed to get the thing to focus when I want it so i'm very happy this is a feature

that's what they promised us yea :)

Likely less than two months from now sounds pretty good to me though, I've been waiting for years :).
-
I believe the facebook post is what expires (since it's a "special" one with a shop now button), but it indeed sounds as if they have scheduled showing us something :).
-
So this appeared on the fxtec twitter: They look like pretty high-end IEMs and the colors remind of a bee or wasp :).

Does that mean there's no need to bake the device and precariously peel away a glued part to get at the battery? If so that's absolutely awesome :)! -
If you appreciate good headphones you probably already have your favorite pair... If they are nice-ish IEMs i may end up just throwing them in my bag as my last pairs of free ones are already trashed. However I'm not too surprised nobody asked how will the headphones be, I assume most are like me and pre-order to get the phone in all it's keyboard-equipped glory as soon as possible :P.

Clicking this link, I get the "Home/User" page, the "&um_action=edit" simply disappears from the URL. It's the page I earlier posted a screenshot of where the "edit profile" is supposed to appear:

I discussed before how this option does not show up for me here: https://www.fxtec.com/forums/topic/change-username/

Unless he is like me and the option simply doesn't show up for his account... The forum is somewhat quirky.

I built my own keyboard phone. Here's what I learned.

I do have the experience that some combinations of bluetooth devices can be amazingly quirky and intermittently decide to not work atall... Maybe you tried it on an unlucky day, or an update came and fixed stuff? -
I do intend to talk taking into account some extra cost goes to small volume, development and simply the hinge and keyboard mechanism (like 100-150eur on top or so, if not more). Doing a quick search turns up about half the price can get you a pocofone F1 with pretty much the same specs yet no keyboard, so fair enough point however there's also phones with similar specs going for 400-500 euro that people still seem willing to buy. Maybe best comparable example is blackberry key 2, it goes for nearly as much money as the pro1 with far lesser specs (yet also a keyboard).

I've been quite tempted to buy a priv before but the weird too long portrait layout and impossibility to get root held me back each time, but many people gotten it and the other android blackberries, also the planet computers gemini and cosmo seem to have a fair following albeit they are more of a laptop-style device meant for typing with it sitting on a table. Spec-wise the pro1 just blows them all off the table for around the same price point. I was following the keyboardmod with some scepticism on account of it being a kickstarter and probably would have gotten a phone for it if it went as

I think also it will be a fairly niche product, and maybe some non-keyboard-addicts would still be willing to get their feet wet at the set price after reviews show it off and fxtec becomes somewhat more known. I'm glad that they went for a somewhat high-end phone rather than giving us cheap hardware at a cheap price... I doubt they could manage the same hardware for a cheaper price, looking at prices of other similarly specced devices. And as for people like me and eskerahn... I think we both are just itching to get rid of the some money and get our hands on this device as it's the only optio
