Good question, i just assumed it was something they had at the event to set the phones down for display, somewhat redundant with the keyboard :).

I doubt those cases would happen a lot, there will always be a need for manual moderation unless the system is overly restrictive. Automatic whitelisting would be nice for sure though.

Yeah, the spammers are unlikely to leave any sensible messages so it would be quite easy to tell who to whitelist...

Unless these spammers take sundays off it seems to have been fixed, they always came around this time :).

I wouldn't be totally surprised if the particular spam here is manually placed by something a la copy paste attack...

It has returned... Maybe filtering messages with "qq" in the title would work, barely appears in english if ever and legit messages probably wouldn't get to sharing contact info right in the subject but this spam does. I would be willing to volunteer if the forum needs an extra moderator to combat spam at more hours of the day btw.

Those are some great photos :). What I'd really like to know though is how close can the camera focus for macro(-ish) shots. Just a note to others, the recently appearing posts in chinese by huouuohou03 appear to be spam offering fake university diplomas for sale. I hope eskerahn or waxberry takes notice of these soon.

A newsletter just landed in my mailbox! And it reads: "Once we have the confirmed shipping date, we will be requesting payment for the Pro1 you have pre-ordered. We anticipate that payment will be requested at the end of July, ahead of an expected shipment date in early September." :).

I'm also confident the display will be great. I have some phones with a FHD display and they can show fonts that are so tiny I need a loupe to see it yet when magnified the text is legible. At the point of 1080 pixels horizontal resolution on this size it's really up to the software whether that feels cramped or not, much higher resolution sacrifices battery life and needs more processing power to run things like games.

And if not, to y'all a happy July anyway, it's still closer to release day than June :).

I don't think it makes sense for fxtec to distribute a rom without google services and the other espionage stuff, however they are not actively fighting bootloader unlocking and rooting but even supporting it so it should be fairly easy to do so ourselves. I have no doubt other people will make and publish modified images, and it shouldn't take too too long for lineage to be pretty stable on the device being it has a common snapdragon chip and help from the manufacturer. In contrast the big name brands like shamesung will have active measures in place to stop you from unlocking the bootloader

Some SEO magic could fix that but i guess it's impossible to expect all reviewers and alike to think of and take this into account. Like meta keywords tag, if google and the likes still respect those.

I like to think most people are like me, normal, and just type a normal 1 for searching something on google.

It's also pretty much expected, even if they are on schedule to release at the end of next month there will be crazy amounts of work for a small startup. Once they actually release the device the work that went into it will be much more important then communications at this time, so I defintely agree on the homework :).

I also do not tweet, but i have a twitter account from way back when, logged in to it just to look at the fxtec twitter on occasion. However I am totally obsessed with the prospect of a nice keyboard phone appearing on the market since even before fxtec existed, and I kindof imagine most people who will buy the phone are not quite as excited/impatient/curious. So I may be wrong but most people may be happy with the amount of info going out, not even caring to know what comes on twitter, hard to verify that thought though.

I've had some luck cutting thin glass (light bulbs and the likes) with diamond based cutoff wheels (the type like for dremel tools) under flowing water. It'd be hard to hold on to a curvy screen protector and cut tidy though.
