Ooh I didn't think of that. I looked and there it is. That's funny, none of the other messages ended up in spam.

Looks like I missed the first batch I guess that means there were more IGG orders than phones in the first batch. Oh well, I'm sure the second batch will be even better, you first-batchers are just the test run before mine is built The camera on my Droid 4 can't focus on QR codes and the battery keeps dying. If I can't hold out, I may just have to bust out my last one...

Thanks for the replies everyone. I haven't tried this on a recent version of Android, so I wasn't aware of changes in newer versions that affect this. I've only tried this with LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1) on the Droid 4 and Android 8.0 on the Moto Z, and neither worked even though both phones are rooted. It's worked previously with unrooted ZTEs and Samsungs (but older Android, around 5.1), so I'm hoping it was just a Moto thing. Maybe with some phones, but I could never get it to work with the Droid 4. Tried installing different apps, adding Xposed modules and ALSA libs, still no

No, unfortunately even with root if the Android distribution for your phone doesn't have a complete implementation of the audio library call recording will fail. Having root will just allow you to see the error in logcat, but that's it.

Will it be possible to record phone calls with the Pro1? I haven't had much success with my Moto phones, and last time I looked into it I believe it was because Motorola didn't fully implement the audio API in the bundled libaudio.so file. Could someone from FxTec confirm this, or someone with a prototype try this out (*cough @EskeRahn 😀)? If you don't know of any apps for this, this is the one I use.

Based on what you've said in previous posts, a lot of your frustration is a result of your own actions regarding work phone situation. I hope you've formed a plan B since then as well as a more sensible transition plan, because otherwise I fear you'll be continually frustrated for one reason or another even after you get the phone ("there's this bug on the OS, OMG fix it it's impacting our whole batch of phones you guys suck, etc")

I haven't posted much but been watching the forums, twitter, my email for any activity, waiting for my Pro1 to finally arrive. I share the frustration of seeing estimated dates come and go, but I have to say it's a bit much reading some of the childish negativity from some of you. I'm not talking about rational criticism which is really more like constructive feedback (which there has been a bit of, and fair enough as as estimated delivery dates have come and gone), but some of you are carrying on like FxTec has kicked your dog, or some scam operator intending to fleece you out of your money

Thanks for the link @EskeRahn. It's good to know what you can do with ADB but personally I prefer to have root access, just like I prefer to have root/admin access on a computer in case I need it. For me my phone is basically a portable computer (especially with a full keyboard); , and I want to be able to access it as such. Potentially powerful tools like a terminal/console or DB editor feel pretty crippled without root since you can't access most of the file system. Also, some apps really need root access, like Wireguard, AFWall, TitaniumBackup. Besides, what about when you want to do

That did sound a bit strange, there's no way you can cut tempered glass. It will shatter (not just break) as soon as you try.

Various questions to the PRO1 not yet answered

I agree with those who think that 6" is too big. The dimensions of this phone are about the same as my Moto Z Play, which I find too big for single-hand use. My Droid 4 is about as big as I'd want a phone to get. And the bezels for that are huge, a modern design could have a much larger screen for the same size. That said, I don't care that this phone is bigger than my preference. I've been waiting literally for years for a modern QWERTY slider phone to come out and when the Moto Mods keyboard was cancelled I thought I'd just have to suck it up and live without a keyboard. I am still i -
The Droid 4 is pretty good and still my current phone, due to the awesome keyboard and CM/LineageOS keeping the OS pretty up-to-date. It took a a bit of work buying it and setting it up outside of the US, but well worth it. It was even worth living with its two biggest drawbacks; poor screen and poor camera (and difficult USB OTG). In terms of overall package, I found the Xperia Pro great for its time; the keyboard was only 4 rows so not quite as good as the D4, but the screen and camera were great for the time, as was the overall ergonomics (hooray for hardware buttons). My first keyb

Alternative OS availability, common entry

I currently have no Google apps loaded in my Droid 4 and hoping to do the same when this phone arrives. Is it possible for there to be a version of the stock OS to not include any Google apps, or is that prohibited by Google? I know that Sailfish and Lineage OS are also being worked on but I'm just a little concerned about hwo stable it'll be as a 3rd party OS, compared to the officially release versions (as far as my Droid goes, LineageOS is awesome bring Android 7.1 to a device that officially stopped at 4 but it's frustrating when it's unstable and features stop working randomly). I notice that the preorder page only has options for UK/HK,USA, Europe and Japan/China plug adaptor. Will the power adaptor be modular so we can change the plug to something else., e.g Australian, or do we need an adaptor? Or in case of Australia, should I choose the the China plug?

No question from me but I just wanted to say awesome job with the phone and thank you all for being so generous. You've really gone above and beyond; $100 coupon, combined coupons and this part really surprised me: "We will then de-activate the code and refund the amount of contribution?". I'm just waiting to see if a friend of mine wants to buy a phone with me before I decide whether to combine my coupons (else he can use one), but either way I'm definitely buying at least one.
