Well, it snows too much here LOL. Somehow I'm still here though. :O

There is an important detail missing here. One other person asked about it, but apparently no one but me noticed. Current production output will cover 10-20% of the preorders every week, so 5-10 weeks for complete fulfillment......except that SOME preorders have already been filled. How many of the preorders have yet to be filled? Without this info we still have a missing link in our educated guess at the timeline for fulfillment.

Any updates on desktop OS's?

I still use the Droid for most stuff; I carry it during the day, and use it for all serious-ish text entry on a mobile device (such as this, while I sit in my comfy chair. :) I pretty much just use the Priv when I'm laying in bed watching Finnish rednecks explode stuff with a hydraulic press ROFL. The keyboard on the Priv pretty much only gets used incidentally when I feel compelled to comment on something I saw. Occasionally I will use the Priv on the forum here when the Droid had a long day and the battery died hard. The Droid is still by far my preferred device for most tasks, and the one I -
Michigan, where we get more snowfall at certain times of year than antarctica......but I digress. :O

Brave Browser offers exactly what you're suggesting. You really should investigate it. -

Still using a Droid 4, although not this second....the Loo....Priv jumped into my hands again 😮 Honestly, I don't hate the PRIV, but I can hardly wait for Pro1 to arrive! Back of the line together, eh bud? -
I'm seriously thinking of ordering a second unit for this very reason, and also to make sure I don't need this Loo......err, PRIV anymore LOL
-
Paid full price, back of the line, sick of the complaining myself! :P It's a pity you're on the Left.....er, West Coast, @Polaris because I get the impression we'd have a ball if we could be in the same building LOL

Notice regarding getting Google SafetyNet Certified software

I shall do this as soon as I get mine. I would NEVER use Scroogle Pay or any other GcrApp and shall wear an unlocked bootloader as a badge of freedom. 🙂 I don't lock my house or my cars, so why would I lock my phone? -
The specs on my Droid 4 have been aging since 2012, so I have limited sympathy with this point of view LOL. It's going to be an awesome device, and a few more horsepower (so to speak) from a newer SOC is not going to change much in the user experience IMO. Useful CPU power plateau-ed a long time ago, and more RAM and storage is what us Droid holdouts are eager to get. And to the other point, Gandalf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U206PQSMMLc

I should have been clearer; the phone will come, and whenever it does, it's Christmas. :)

At least the Key2 is not sinning against your thumbs with a slab. :P We're all rooting for those allocation emails. Some of us are just more worried than others, for reasons I intellectually comprehend but emotionally do not reciprocate.

Or simply that no one involved had the SLIGHTEST idea how difficult it really is to bring a project like this to fruition. I suspect this. This is a much bigger project than anything they had attempted previously, and I think they simply didn't realize how much of an uphill battle it is to do something like this. The fact that they're competing for resources with mega-craporations at a time of year when demand is high makes it that much worse. Also, I'm not a commusocialist who thinks all large corporations are evil; I just despise the major phone manufacturers for making crap slabs and not of

I would add the hope that you'll get a Pro1 once it hits general availability and has gained a reputation for being what we all hoped it would be. Disillusionment is a nasty virus to combat; I'm genuinely sorry that it's come to that for you. I don't think that anyone at F(x)tec has been toying with anyone, but can see where it could feel that way. Hopefully thousands of happy users (coming soon or soon-ish one way or the other!) will restore your confidence. For myself, the fact that the only serious complaint from end users has been not being able to get them quickly enough, even though

[Guide] PRO1, Restore to stock firmware using Fastboot method

Second this! -
Do you do business with other companies based on the perceived morality of its staff, or based on the ability of the company to deliver a relevant product or service? In other words, are you consistent, or just venting? Amazon, Apple, Walmart, McDonalds, Samsung......do you evaluate every manufacturer and vendor this way, or just the ones who don't give you your cookies as quickly as you expected?
-
Yes, you bailing. I positively do not understand people who would rather know they're not getting something awesome than wonder when they're getting something awesome. I'm not saying it's wrong, but I don't understand that thinking one tiny bit. To me, it's waiting for Christmas....it will come!
-
It is also possible that the issue was created in an attempt to produce units more quickly. Grandma used to say, "the hurrier I go the behinder I get." Grandma's always right!
-
I'm sure it concerns them even more.
-
It sure looks like the screen issue affected a LOT of units. 😞
-
But you stopped all chance of getting a Pro1 for Christmas. 😞
-
Well let's see.....649 (what you paid months ago) vs 699 (what I paid much more recently) is a savings of what percentage? 🙂 You've been compensated.

But wait until you taste her cooking. 😉

Personally I'm not worried about band 66 unless VaZeline is planning to turn off 4, and if not, that additional 25MHz is unlikely to mean much to you, as you've indicated that EVDO is enough to meet your needs. Is supporting it something that could be deployed later through an update, or is the radio incapable of using that frequency? Also, was the Droid 4 never available on GSM networks like Always Toil and Trouble/Trouble Mobile? :O I thought it was, but might have been wrong. I guess I could have moved to Canada.......fortunately, Pro1 saved me the trouble. :)

It's not a theory if it's easily provable, and it's not a conspiracy if it's in plain sight! LOL! Big data and big government don't generally even pretend they're not trying to scoop up as much data as possible by any means possible, for any purpose they deem worthwhile. I do my civic duty and give them as little as possible. :)
