Is this allowed? I can definitely do this. I wonder if their survey blocks Tor exit nodes. :P

You got F(x)tec 7 new CLACK-stomers? ALL SINS FORGIVEN! :) Also, we'll likely get ours around the same time. I didn't order until November.
-
My next update should include this. Thank you for helping me make the list as complete as possible. As updates now require mod involvement, I'm trying to consolidate them. I expect to make another update tonight.

So if the carrier doesn't support VoLTE, it's not going to work. VoLTE requires intimate cooperation between your device hardware and the carrier network, and if either end is not equipped to handle it, it's a lost cause. There's not much real-world advantage unless you're trying to use your phone to secretly smuggle audio out of concerts live.....the additional audio fidelity doesn't really do much for regular phone calls, and does nothing unless both parties are using it. Did both of the providers you tried seem to work correctly once the update was applied?

One can have no doubt based on an assumption about meaning when the original statement was not clear on said meaning. However, I could have been more clear and simply said "I assume" which would have been more accurate.

If I could bring one more thing to your attention, the Pro1 will need a codename. My Droid 4 is Maserati. Pro1 should be "Clack" since that's what half of us call it anyway. :)

[Guide] PRO1, Restore to stock firmware using Fastboot method
silversolver replied to Waxberry's topic in Support
That's why I'll use mine as a tablet for a bit before my phone, in order to be able to tweak and fiddle with impunity because there's no data to lose. :) -
I have seen a report of it working on Verizon.
-
Another possibility that comes to my mind is that LTE itself may be turned off or not working, and as a prerequisite for VoLTE it might be grayed as a result.

According to one poster, LOS doesn't work to place calls in Australia, nor does the stock firmware as originally released. An OTA update resolved the issue on the stock firmware.

Clear? No, it's not clear, but an assumption that seems reasonable. Sometimes what we did matters more than what we intended to do. I'm sure I have legal grounds to waste my resources to teach him a lesson by wasting his, but fortunately for him I have better uses for my resources.

I thought so too, until someone criminally maligned me.....I won't be contributing anything new but wasn't going to just ignore that.

I have no doubt that's how it was meant, but that's not how it was presented. He's been rude in the forum before; until today (in a different thread where he's pretending I don't exist and he's a nice person so people will help him) every single post of his I ever saw was obnoxious. He is a keyboard bully. He needs to shape up or ship out.

Day One Impressions of Keyboard
silversolver replied to Craig's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
That's pretty normal. Microsoft has been doing this with their products for decades. The good news these days is that updates to correct found issues are easier than ever these days. -
Day One Impressions of Keyboard
silversolver replied to Craig's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Ah, well then! Personally I'd investigate whether or not FinQwerty could provide the kind of customization you both need. I'm aware that's not its purpose, but it seems like a great tool for such customizations. EDIT: I should have read what you wrote much more carefully LOL. You solved it already. -
Day One Impressions of Keyboard
silversolver replied to Craig's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Pretty sure Craig is in the US, where we don't exactly use that every day. 🙂 -
This is good to know! I wonder what was corrected. What provider are you using so the list can be updated with this info?
-
As a fellow US customer, I can ASSURE you that his statement is entirely correct. You have basically 2 options here: get a phone from a giant company directly through the carrier of your choice, in which case it will "just work," or get the phone of your choice and try to fiddle and coax it into working with said carrier. AT&T is possibly the only US provider operating more-or-less with vanilla GSM, so no surprise, it "just works." Everyone else is marching very much to the beat of their own drum, and getting your phone not designed for that beat to march to it can be a hassle.

I'm done with this thread for good. Certain people feel that the poor communication and missed dates are a big deal. I don't, but it's clear that I'm not going to change the minds of any of the people who do. I am going to focus on the important stuff: the clack exists, mine is coming, and when it gets to me, it will be a good day. Those of you who feel the need to fuss and fume, go ahead without my company.

Shifted or standard QWERTY layout. Pros and Cons
silversolver replied to okayphoneme's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
From prior experience, I'm certain I'll get accustomed to the peculiarities of the existing QWERTY board when it arrives. I can also say unreservedly that I prefer your layout, and honestly don't fully understand why they didn't settle on something much closer to it. Perhaps the Pro2 will implement some of these changes. In the meantime, a slightly odd keyboard is a huge improvement over what EVERYONE else is offering. :) -
"Let me be clear...." oh wait, that was someone else.....LOL

[Guide] PRO1, Restore to stock firmware using Fastboot method
silversolver replied to Waxberry's topic in Support
Recovery mode is like the Windows Recovery Partition on bigger computers......no techie ever uses them, as they're just a brain-dead way for weenies to make SOMETHING work again when they get too loused with crapware. This is a phone targeted to the technical, who look upon such foolishness as a waste of space. :) -
@Waxberry I hope you realize that there are a certain percentage of us who have your back 100% on this, no matter how long it takes (within reason.) If a certain poll is accurate, it's about half of the people here. As long as it looks like devices are shipping, I'm totally peaceful that mine will come when the time is right. Speaking for myself, I would happily let you send mine to impatient children who scream loudly so you don't have to hurt your company by refunding them. If you choose to reroute some of batch 3 from their rightful places in the queue to the screamers so you can actually p
