  1. Oops, sorry, I meant to imply it wasn't of much use with LineageOS. Your point is accurate and I should have just said that the statement was forward looking. I'll edit the post to reflect the correction. 😄
  2. Yep, just as I figured. Yes, I too think that it's comfortable as long as you don't mind focusing on the keys while typing!
  3. Thanks for the clarifications. Personally, I could care less about what's printed on the actual key (in cases such as this where it would say either Ctrl or Strig) as long as the functionality is the same. Clearly, if all the symbols were in non-standard locations and were all swapped, then it would be a different story. I think this is where we differ. As I mentioned, I didn't realize that I have been blind typing so much so often (at least not until I started trying to use the Pro1 in the same manner). I can easily type full paragraphs without looking at my thumbs/fingers
  4. You can easily convert Strg to Ctrl if that's your main concern with the QWERTZ layout. Yes, I personalized my comment because I use a English US layout. I can see how if I were using an international version those extra keys would be handy for extra letters and whatnot. However, they are unnecessary in my case (especially when they didn't take advantage of all the keys anyway, so many wasted ones). So can you pick up the Pro1 and blindly type (meaning without looking at your fingers/thumbs, or the keyboard) with any accuracy, and for multiple sentences? Edit: @david No curren
  5. I'm enjoying most aspects of the Pro1, but I really dislike (this is putting it mildly) the shifted keyboard. Or maybe "shifted keyboard" is the wrong phrase, as I unshifted it (so to speak) via remapping, and then didn't like the extra keys that were on the right. I'm very spoiled because I have been using a Droid 4 for so many years that it (D4) just makes sense, feels natural, and I can thumb-type full paragraphs (even pages if need be) without looking down at the keyboard. This is mostly because when I grab it to being typing, without looking, my thumbs just naturally fall right onto th
  6. If I'm following this correctly, it would be the same key code that is generated for the hyphen/minus in the QWERTY layout.
  7. ...but such a phone could be bought of of Ebay for less than $20.
  8. Thanks for replying and letting us know about the AT&T branded devices v.s. the unlocked devices! Ouch! So sorry you have to be linked at the hip with Google. Ugh.
  9. That description is very different than the link, but regardless, I stand corrected, and say "return away!" 😃
  10. Guess I didn't add enough smiley faces, or probably should have added a couple of wink ones as my comment was strictly in jest. While true I owned a Priv, never acclimated to it, and dumped it quickly, I would never want a company to stop making something just because I don't like it. To each their own, and in that regard, the more choices available to the consumer the better.
  11. Ok, my full disclosure statement is that I haven't, and don't plan on, using WiFi calling. However, as I understand it from friends who do use it, you'll need to call AT&T and have them provision your account for WiFi calling (I believe only post paid accounts (not prepay) are eligible). Once they configure your account to use WiFi calling, then all you need to do is make sure that the switch is active (which you have already done); then, when you are connected to an access point with a good WiFi signal, your calls will automatically be routed via WiFi.
  12. First off, have you enabled it in the INFO menu (*#*#4636#*#*)?
  13. Not a huge loss. No root, no custom OS, portrait keyboards, etc. etc. 😀
  14. Hold on here! Not to make trouble, but the link that @sequestris posted about this case (see above, isn't this the one?), clearly states it's for a P20 and not a P20 Pro. I think the err falls on us and not Amazon.
  15. @compuguy I agree with @Hook in that the Pro1 supports LTE band 13. I know this not only from the specs but I can see it on my spectrum analyzer connected to cells on my local sites. Also, I'm in DC quite often and I haven't seen any B66 action for T-mobile (not to say that it won't happen), but there is heavy B2, B4, and B12 usage out there. Not certain that B66 will be required, but who knows what they are thinking. As for Verizon, they are typically implementing B66 in rural areas not metropolitan ones (of course, this too, could change).
  16. Yes, the application does report incorrect bands at times, but that's not the issue at hand (with regard to antenna design or how "hot" the receiver is in the Pro1). Even if the app gets the band wrong, the phones won't, and they are clearly in service and seeing various cell sites (and voting to park on one). Every one in view shows a received power that is weaker on the Pro1. Regardless of the band the app is reporting, these numbers wouldn't change (my guess is the band is correct, if I had his rough address I could verify that, but B4 is indeed in use by Verizon in a large part of the c
  17. I wouldn't jump to this conclusion so quickly. @Pete has pictures of his two phones, they are both in band and the Pro1's received power is significantly less than with the BB. Not by just a little, but by quite a bit (see his dBm readings above).
  18. We are talking about two different approvals then. I'm referring to Verizon certifying the Pro1 (all of them) for use on their network. This hasn't happened and can only happen if F(x)tec submits a request, pays money, and passes their evaluation. Right! This is because it's not certified for use on their network. If the IMEI was in the DMD database, then it would have full CDMA access like all the other brands and models of phones that they have certified for use on their network. Again, I'm certain we are talking about two different kinds of "approval."
  19. Understood, but that's not to say that the 2-piece wouldn't have fit on an actual P20 model for which it was designed (especially possible due to manufacturing tolerances). However, if the fit was incorrect for that specific application then I wouldn't have any problem with them paying the return shipping. K is a cool letter, but sometimes I don't want the other 25 letters (of the English alphabet) to feel left out. 😁 Plus, it's kinda fun discussing something other than the phone itself. 😂 Edit: @EskeRahn and I were both responding at the same time, if I had seen his
  20. If I'm understanding what you are saying... your DMD request would have been denied, and, yes, the SIM card (and account) would have needed to be provisioned for VoLTE.
  21. IMO, the problem here is that you are purposefully ordering cases for a phone that you don't have and aren't intending to use the cases on for the purposes of testing in hopes of finding something for the Pro1. With a shirt, you would be ordering it for yourself based on prior knowledge of your size, colors/patters you like, etc. For example, If you are a size small, and your experience is that most small shirts fit you, so you ordered it and it didn't fit, then that's on the manufacturer (with the seller sharing a portion of the burden) for not sizing it properly. That's very different th
  22. Oh, if it were only that easy! A request to put a block of IMEIs into the DMD database needs to be requested by the manufacturer of the device, and that's only after they have a signed contract with Verizon saying they will pay for the necessary hardware testing to verify compatibility on/with the CDMA network. Should the device pass all of Verizon's requirements and tests (and the manufacturer is financially current), the DMD request will then be accepted, reviewed, and processed. It is possible to submit a request for a single IMEI, but it's only taken seriously if the device has already
  23. My pleasure. The relationship is purely a logical software one. It reads the RSRP (received power) & RSRQ (received quality) and then converts it to a bar graph and numerical and/or percentage. Simple as that. The Pro1 is being more honest about things, not sure if there is intent to deceive with the BB or not, but it's not even close to being accurate with 4 bars. I don't think lying is the correct phrase to be used with the LTE Discovery app (as lying implies intent), but the app is often incorrect, and most people don't know because they don't really have any other wa
  24. Essentially, there is no difference. One needs a mule phone to make this work (see the original pages of this thread) because Verizon won't activate the Pro1 directly. Your mule was the S10 (which I know works, because I did it for a friend with his S10, and I have also used an S8, both work fine -as should just about any other phone that supports VoLTE with a SIM that is also compatible and provisioned for it). That's all that is needed (hardware wise) to get your Pro1 up and running (sans the CDMA network). The only difference between what you did and cfeltych's experience is that he
