What key combo are you pressing to get those characters. I've tried just about every thing. -

Pretty much the same with Vivaldi and Edge browsers. -
I'll be tracking hin with the Freedar app.

Not sure if it's been suggested. Keyboard Brightness Control. Mine seems to be a bit dim. (A bit like me really) π

I've been looking at those Fairphones with a view to installing a Sailfish community port. It's a good idea to be able to upgrade or repair certain parts of the phone like you would a PC.

The extended characters like question mark etc. -
Some device schematics would be a great help too, for those that are inclined to mod some aspects of the device.

Opera Browser works quite well, but it doesn't seem too happy with alternative characters when using the HW keyboard. I'm also trying Vivaldi Browser and might give MS Edge a go, that one works well on SailfishOS despite no Google Play Services support. -
Wow! π§ Very surprised at the results so far. I wasn't expecting the pre-orders to be that low. Was expecting them to be as near as level pegging.

My keyboard quit out on me today, too and wouldn't respond at all to any key presses. I just restarted the phone and it all started working again. I just put it down to a hiccup.

It was one that I found on Wish. Not sure on what the mod will be like yet. Once I get the keyboard I can get me thinking 'ead on.

My first Keyboard phone was the Nokia N900 (The Beast) followed by a Jolla1 with the TOHKBD). The N900 kicked off my love for proper QWERTY keyboards on phones and the Jolla kicked off my love for Sailfish, hence the reason I scoured the web for a TOHKBD. I looked at Blackberry, but I find their keyboards are awful. TBH, I think they were in the best position to produce a slider, but they just wouldn't do it. A BB Leap or Z10/30 with a slider QWERTY would have been magic. Might even have saved them selling their souls to Google. π

Thanks for the heads up. I have actually butchered cases about to make phones fit. My next project will be my Xperia X. I've got a Bluetooth Micro Keyboard on order that I plan to mate with it, so I'll have it to hand when I open the case. But as for the Pro1, I'm not finished yet. I'm planning on a trip to the nearest big city to scour the phone shops for bargain bin cases that might fit the bill. (Not really, I'm going just to flash the Pro1 off and annoy the hell outa them) ππ

I'm relatively happy with the device. I'll be even happier once I get a stable SilfishOS on it. With regards to the screen, I agree with you there. But I'm hoping F(x)Tec take on board the suggestion of creating a setting for "Dead Zones" where you can create a dead strip around the edge of the phone. Keyboard? π€ Not sure yet, need to use it more. Hoping we get a setting to adjust the brightness of the back-light. It's a bit bigger than the N900 and the Jolla TOHKB, but I think eventually most of us will probably tap out a message on the screen rather than go to the hassle of opening the s

So, after a few days I've come to the conclusion that I'm not too keen on the supplied sleeve. It was a nice gesture by F(x)Tec, considering you can pay Β£1000 for some phones and not get a protective cover. But I find the case a bit too tight and not too keen on using so much force to insert and take the phone out. So I decided to buy another case and found this one in a local shop. Let's see everyone else's cases.

Just a long shot, as I don't know if it's possible. I find the curved-edge screen a bit of an issue when handling the phone or opening the slider. Most of the time I find I'm activating shortcuts/widgets by accident. Would it be possible to add the ability to enable a "Dead Zone" around the edge of the screen in the display settings?

Clove Technology are the retailers in the UK. This is where I ordered my Pro1 from as they quoted stock arriving in November 12, which then slipped to December 12. TBH I wasn't expecting a pre-Christmas delivery. Not sure, but don't quote me on it, but from what I can gather Clove partnered with F(x)Tec as a retail partner for the device.

Everything seems to be OK now @Craig Not sure what happened. It was fine until a couple of updates came down, then all hell let loose. Couldn't reset the keyboard either. π I'm used to using SailfishOS on Sony Xperia as my main phone. If Jolla deliver I'll be re-flashing the Pro1.

OK. Factory reset complete and now just getting app updates. I'll see how things go from here onward. Thanks for the assistance guys. πΊπΊ

Just performing the factory reset now and getting updates.

I think a factory reset would be the next step as it looks like there's no virtual keyboards installed, (can't manage keyboards in settings).
-
Didn't set that as default, but it seems to be permanently on with no way of turning it off. I don't have any virtual keyboard showing onscreen at all. But I have found out that others are having the same problem on Android Central with other phones. I've got rid of the Google Voice Typing assistant by disabling Chrome browser.
-
OK, so I've done erik's checks and Show Virtual Keyboard is off. But Google Voice Typing keeps displaying when I tap the search bar in any app. Tapping the small keyboard icon doesn't seem to change anything but it brings up a Change Keyboard requester telling me Google Voice Typing is active with the option of switching on virtual keyboard. Tapping the close X doesn't close the Google Voice Typing window either. Sounds like some sort of software issue, because the keyboard was showing before I downloaded an update earlier.

Thanks guys. Just going through the checks now. AFAIK all updates are installed too.

Received my Pro1 today, and just trying to get used to it......not having much success though. The biggest issue I'm having is getting a virtual keyboard to show up on screen. For example- tapping the search bar in Firefox brings up the Google Voice assistant. No matter what I do I can't close the assistant at all, and there's no way of displaying a virtual keyboard. Nothing in Settings either. Any advice or ideas welcome TIAπ
