The nearest glass protector I have found is the Huawei P20 Pro. I purchased a kit which included the protector, adhesive, a jig for fitting the protector and a UV light for setting the adhesive and helping the protector to form to the screen shape. Only issue is the Pro1 is too thick to sit in the jig, so as yet it remains unused. I think the problem with the Pro1 is the curved edges.

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
MickH replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I'm pretty certain it's a network issue, as I've had the same issue with other phones and providers in the past. This could be useful for diagnosing and locating which tower could be the culprit there's a wealth of info that may be useful. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.staircase3.opensignal&hl=en_GB -
No issues with getting insurance here. Mine is covered for theft and accidental damage in and outside my home. Don't bother with online insurers, if you've got contents insurance on your dwelling have a word with your provider, they should be able to provide cover for a fraction of the cost of say Gadget Cover etc. For reference my home contents is with Barclays.

What are people's preferences for listening to music on the Pro1? Headphones or Earbuds? I use both types. I've got Kitsound Harlems Bluetooth Headphones = https://kitsound.co.uk/product/details/39265/Harlem_Bluetooth_Headphones/KitSound/On-Ear_Headphones/ for indoor use. They have a nice sound with rich bass and a long battery life. As for earbuds outdoors/ travelling I use UiiSii BA-T8 Dual Dynamic Earphones = https://www.uiisii.com/collections/all-products/products/uiisii-t8-stereo-in-ear-earbuds-headphones-with-mic. For the price I'm very surprised at the performance of these. The r

Ebay VS buying direct: Is this for real?
MickH replied to everlast4308's topic in General Discussion
That set up is very similar to TOHKBD (The Other Half KeyBoard) for the Jolla 1. -
When I tapped the third one down in the list, nothing happened. Then 20 minutes later someone banged on my door. When I opened it there was a guy standing there with a take-away demanding £15. 😯

I'm beginning to get a little better with mine, with regards to accidental touches. Not happening as much, but I'd still like a stock setting where you can lock out different edges of the screen.

This looks more like it. Doesn't say which file system it is though, although it was formatted in the phone.

Hang on, I'll have another look.

My SD card is working fine for now. I did have a couple of hiccups with it when the phone forgot it was there a few times. But it's reported in Diskinfo as being ext4.

Discussion and testing on features and known&potential issues

😕😕How come the discussion about the WaveUp app has jumped across from the "Apps that works great with a real keyboard and in landscape" thread?😕😕 -
This is something I've had issues with with various phones over time, from Nokias to Blackberrys, and I always believed it was caused by the networks/cell towers in a specific area. Despite researching and discussing with the various providers I never did get a clear cut explanation.

I pretty much think your prayers have been answered, as the app does work in that way, I'm sure. It does have a so called "Pocket Mode" which is described in the documentation. It doesn't behave like when your making a call. In that instance the phone isn't locked when you put the device to your ear and the developer has taken that on-board so WaveUp doesn't lock the phone while a call is in progress. As for the aforementioned battery drain, I haven't noticed anything untoward. You can set a xx second warning which gives a short vibrate xx seconds before the screen turns off and locks. You -
Apps that works great with a real keyboard and in landscape
MickH replied to EskeRahn's topic in General Discussion
Was looking for an app that could activate the screen when opening the front cover (like on my XPeria X, which uses a magnetic sensor). Found WaveUp on the F-Droid Store. The app uses the proximity sensor and works excellently in both portrait and landscape. https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.jarsilio.android.waveup/ -
I'd have a go at clearing the storage in App info -> Storage. Have a look around in the settings too, just to make sure nothing is amiss in there.

I'm pretty sure VLC will display in 16:9. I'm going to see if I can pick up a USB type C - HDMI tomorrow. Is there any particular type to look out for, or is it just a bug standard, off the shelf Typ C - HDMI? The video settings in VLC are quite comprehensive. There's something in Settings about cloning the device screen when connected via WiFi or HDMI.

The camera button also wakes the phone while the slider is open.

Clove Technology have week commencing Feb 17th as their date. Just after Christmas and New Year they were quoting mid January.

There was an app for the N900, called Launch900, I think. What you had to do was start the app and then throw your N900 in the air to see how high you could throw it. They even had a league table on Talk Maemo.😂🤣😂

I've tried Nova Launcher. But had to uninstall it as it really fudged up the widgets when you went from portrait to landscape. Might give that Total Launcher a looksee though.

There's also these two apps in the Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hash.ar.systemlog&hl=en https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog&hl=en

Had a few Keyboard smartphones. Started with the N73 (can you call that a smartphone?) Then the Nokia N95-8GB Then went on to the Nokia N900. Absolutely loved that phone, so bought another 1. ❤️ Next I went on to a Jolla 1 with the TOHKBD. Quirky as hell that set up 😂 Next was a Sony Xperia X re-flashed with SailfishX. Now I'm on the Pro1, but still using the Xperia X as my main phone at the moment.

Very much like "The Beast" (Nokia N900). You could lock/unlock that in a number of ways. Little toggle button on the side. Pressing the power switch brings up the "Slide to unlock". A double press locked the phone Opening and closing the slider locked/unlocked the phone. Sliding open the camera cover unlocked the phone and started the camera app. You could even unlock the phone by waving a magnet over the screen. This made the phone unsuitable for cases with magnetic clasps.

For some reason my Pro1 shut itself down 3 times in a row today. I was out shopping and glanced at my phone to see the time. When I pressed the power button I was asked for the boot-up unlock code. After that the phone booted OK. Within half an hour the same thing happened another 2 times. Any Ideas?

Is there a contact number for the delivery driver? I normally get told who my delivery driver is and get the chance to contact them if I need to discuss the delivery. As for the options on the Fed-Ex site I believe it depends on which tier the delivery cost is. If it's economy your options will be limited. You could try contacting Fed-Ex themselves to see if they can get hold of the driver.
