I have the same question. I did not find the option how to enable calls over wifi (e.g. option to receive calls on your phone number over the home wifi, when the 4g network is not good at your home). I am on stock android 9. My carrier mentioned that they cannot activate this on their side, it has to be done on the phone. I could do this on the samsung of my wife and the iphone of my son, but did not find this option on the pro1. By the way: I have seen swisscom (CH) is not on the list on the first page of this thread. No problem with network compatibility (4G)

Are you folks saying it is better to use another charger than the fx tec fast charging one? e.g. a samsung travel one?

Making the connection between threads on Wifi, signal strength and reboot. Some more interesting points here:
-
Yes the strength of the wifi should be improved in the Fx tec Pro2. Whereas my galaxy note 8 can access the wifi network in the most remote room of my flat, the pro1 was regularly loosing the wifi signals in this room, (and I was experiencing a loot of spontaneous reboot of the phone). I have installed now an additional wifi access point in the flat. Since I do not experience spontaneous reboot anymore. Will see.

Interesting tip from EskeRahn. I wish I had read it earlier. I think it belongs to this wiki. I quote: "I strongly suggest to change the Android setting under Settings, System, Gestures, "Swipe up on home", to Off, as this works poorly IMHO, requiring a REALLY long swipe, or a double swipe(!) to get to the apps list in portrait. But a matter of taste obviously. "

Same here. I was using ES file explorer. I could not find it anymore in the play store. I liked that you could use the app to create a shortcut (on home screen) to a specific folder in the main storage. I did not manage to do this with fx. Edit: actually it is possible under fx; there is a kind of bookmark sign when you press on the three dots menu of a specific folder of the main storage.

The Pro1, coming from a N900: the good the bad and the WTF

Thanks. Auto-capitalisation is probably indeed my best bet. It is however not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted "sticky left shift" as a option. Is it possible under Lineage OS? All my previous droid and photon sliders had this sticky left shift. It would have to relearn typing. -
Key shortcut for apps drawer?
OKSun replied to peter.s.fidelman's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Jina App drawer seems to work in landscape mode. I have just downloaded it now. In settings there is an option to remove the virtual keyboard for search, which allows us to use our physical one directly. -
Thanks installation of PocoSv10.4.apk was successful.

download was complete. no other variant of Gcam I downloaded PocoSv10.6.2b.apk. just to be sure I have the correct file??? Do I need to tick somewhere an option to accept installation of program of unknown source?

what is the status of this request for unrooted phones under stock? It would be good to have the option to activate "sticky left shift" on keyboard to capitalise just one letter (until the letter is typed; as opposed to locked caps "arrow down"). I realise that I am really used to type that way and have trouble pressing shift and letter at the same time to capitalize. -
How do you install PocoPhone F1 Port? I downloaded the apk. Opened it in "files" and selected "package installer" to install. The installation was not successful.

Thanks. I cleared the cache and data. Icons are now there in the dropdown menu. clearing cache and data is becoming the standard procedure for all problems.
-
FlyingAntero thanks again for your great input above. Ultimate rotation control: I have been using this app in the past with other keyboard phones. I liked that the various icons (auto, forced auto, landscape, etc) were displayed in the dropdown menu from the top of the screen (for notifications and quick settings). In pro1 I do not have these icons and do not manage to make them appear. Did I miss a setting?

thanks. it worked. i had to clear data for both of them. Menu is back.

Apps that works great with a real keyboard and in landscape

On stock (without root), is there a gallery app? Is it Google photos? Do you use another app from play store for gallery? -
Is it the app wireless Update? => Storage => clear cache. I still cannot access the update settings menu anymore. When I click on settings, I just get a white page....
-
For those like me, whose phone is stuck "Checking for updates" of the android system forever without results- The following fix worked for me: I checked the option to "automatically download when on wifi" in update settings. Then the check lead to immediate results and I could download all updates until 20200707. However: After the update, I wanted then to untick that tickbox. In 20200707, I cannot access the update settings menu anymore. When I click on settings, I just get a white page....

It would be great if someone could send me pictures on how they inserted the SIM card. I have read the quick start guide, but the drawing is not very clear. I understand that it must face down as on the picture. But then I still have two ways to orientate it, which one is correct? My nano SIM card is also still larger than the tray: are we supposed to cut the plastic? Thanks

Thanks. Yes the strip should have been included on the fxtec original pouch. I had it on previous phones.
-
I have been reading the following post: I understand that the tape should be pasted there?? EskeRahn had suggested another location at the begining (see picture).
-
Where did you purchase them? in which material did you punch the holes?
-
I kept digging on the forum and found also the following: I am still interested to hear your practical experiences using the fx tec pouch or others!

I found some info in the "case" thread:
