I have finally taken possession of my ordered Pro1X. I am from Brazil but had it delivered to a friend in the US to avoid tariffs. This was last August 2024 so none of the new US tariffs were in force. I finally came to his house yesterday and opened the box ( he wouldn't dare opening it before despite all my insistence ). I am disappointed to say I received a used phone with a fading label on the back, scratch marks on the aluminium frame, with what looks like a brand new screen and a used cable. Thank you, this was very helpful, with qdl I was able to successfully flash my Pro1X with the factory "Non-GMS" image, version 2.1.5. I had to edit some of the .c files to add <stdlib.h> as a header include, but after that it compiled successfully. I'd like to install LineageOS but am having a hard time unlocking the bootloader.

Lineage-22.2-20250623-NIGHTLY-pro1x with June 1st security patch installed smoothly via OTA. MindTheGapps15, and root was maintained. Definitely not a big update. Downloaded and installed very quickly.

...Ah well I took the chance and 'up'graded... lineage-22.2-20250621-nightly-pro1-signed.zip on June 1 security patch installed smoothly using adb sideload and MindTheGapps-15.0.0-arm64-20250214_082511) And we still can only select one keyboard layout, so no easy layout switching, for multilingual usage. Will report back in some hours if it seems to have become usable.... ADD: From 94% to 23% in 11hours, so 6½% per hour, so still completely useless! Oh well back to 22.1 it is...😠

No, not now. Well, every downgrade to a full working daily driver takes about 10hours for me (restore apps, settings, specific led-colour for some apps, notification sound, etc.) 🙂

I see a LOT of changes for the 20250614, including something with network callback. The 20250621 seems to contain only minor changes, And 202506207 does not look related. Anyone tried either release and see if they make Lineage usable again on a Pro1?

Sorry for answering so late, I do not check this thread very often any more. In Settings, navigate to Display -> Advanced -> Style and set Style to "Dark". Then, on the same page, set "Dark mode" from "Default" to "Black". Unfortunately, the default launcher and other system apps (contacts, phone, gallery, ...) are not yet prepared to pick up a dark system theme. This is Pie after all 🙂. You should be able to find suitable third-party substitutes in most cases, though.

Thank you, EskeRahn for staying with me. (Please let me know if this thread needs to migrate.) The red light come on when charging. It turns green when I assume it's 100% charge. If I press and hold power+volume down, there is flashes of white light at the top 3rd and lower 5th of the screen across. A couple of times when I press power (not sure when I am off) the regular screen but somewhat tinted appear for a couple of seconds where I see the message that the phone is for example, 72% charging, then it goes back to black.

In theory I think yes, but in practise very hard without seeing the display. One option could be to copy the content of the entire user partition, but again some interaction with the phone might be needed. If you have allowed google to take backup, at the least some data is saved. And if you allowed google to stea...erhm STORE your pictures, they will be saved in the cloud too, maybe in poor resolution though. But start booting it to bootloader. If you see a menu, it is software 'only', so you would know that you are unlikely to need a new display.

Hmm this might actually be good news, as this sounds more like a software bug than a hardware bug. Can it boot into bootloader-mode showing the menu? If so a factory reset is most likely the way to go, and if that does not do the trick a full reflash to factory mode. (follow the first post on the forum)

I was curious about the availability of the replacement LCDs (Elephone U Pro display) as I hadn't checked in quite a while. The result is a bit alarming. Aliexpress, which used to be a reliable source (the little shops would run out, but other little shops would pop up with it), now seems to be completely wiped out on these. EskeRahn, I quickly glanced at the post about screen replacement and saw that CornholioGSM is located in the EU. I'm in NYC. So probably not feasible. When I press the on button today there was a flash of the wall paper intact and then black again.

If you are 'lucky' it is 'just' the display, though that it not something you just go and buy a new around the corner, it is possible to replace for many with a little tech knowledge. If I recall correctly @CornholioGSM has offered the service of swapping for some price. so if that still holds and depending on your location, that might be an interesting option.

Thank you, EskeRahn for the link! Unfortunately, today, mere hours ago, my Pro1x showed jumpy lime green lights at the bottom of the screen, then the top started darkening. I pressed on the power button to shut it down. I was able to see the red left before it started to fade to black. I touched the middle of the 3 selection (from memory). When I got home I plugged in the power and a bright light flashed....then darkness. I don't know the extent of the problem and i have not backed up in a while. Unless by some miracle my 2nd Pro1x gets shipped to me I will have to comb the forum for

It does not seem to be everyone that gets this bug, but the risk is clearly there.

nothing constructive to add but i just wanted to say thanks i use my pro1 as my daily driver with VZW and would've hated to have to go through downgrading to a version that doesn't have battery problems.

Did you try with an OLD computer or one on Linux? As I explained usb-3 under windows can be problematic. If no data-communication at all can be established there could be an electric problem, e.g. dirt in the plug, or a plug that has gone partly loose
