Hi, My phone is now fixed. This is the message I got from Fxtec support: I`m so happy that I can use my Pro 1 again. Let's hope Pro 1 X production goes smoothly so I can get a spare one soon in case my Pro 1 needs repair again 😀

I have already tried numerous new sims from other providers, they all worked even worse. However there are good news, i just disassembled the device and made sure all the contact-pads for the aluminum case (which seems to be the antenna itself, gorgeous engineering!) have better contact and all the coax cables are in place - now the 4g reception is a lot quicker and i finally can take calls from my desk again. I now have a similar amount of reception at my desk that i used to have with my old droid 4 🙂 So yeah if anyone else has those problems, you can disassemble

Say Pro1 three times fast.

Had this Issue on a Huawei P20 Pro before - fingerprint sensor getting hot, due to that fast discharging battery. Disconnected the connector aswell to save costs. Just want to point out, that I would not blame F(x)Tec for that fault, defects like that can occur. (imagine this happening on an 🍏7/8..)

Yes, it sold at a quite good price, at least for me 😬 I also thing indiegogo has put pressure on prices. For me, I really hope Fxtec can put a spin on production, I think a lot of people would love this device.

That's exactly my situation right now, however to me there is no alternative - i didn't see any qwerty device that even comes close to this as a followup to the old milestone/droid line that motorola used to make.

How old is your SIM? If you've had for a couple of years, it could be that the SIM is the culprit. I had a 10 years old SIM that needed to be replaced 😅

Whether this year can be compared to last year is unclear. Last year, they were new to manufacturing and logistics and the pandemic hit closing everything down. This year, they have renegotiated contracts, a lot more experience and, although the pandemic is still here and UK is in lockdown, I think they may have a better handle on how to move forward. I would expect the Pro1s to pop up when the Pro1xs do, that they will maximize their Factory run time they have contracted for. Still means maybe March to June, but I doubt one year this time around unless the lockdown becomes much worse glob

@milp Still waiting for my device, so I cannot contribute anything yet from my own experience, but I've been following this forum closely for a long time and I think that until now there never was a severe reception problem reported from Germany with its specific and limited usage of bands and frequencies (please correct me if I overlooked something or someone), while it seems to be generally accepted at this point that the Pro¹'s overall reception quality tends to be not quite as good as with other phones...

My suspicion is that the Pro¹ X prices on Indiegogo might have exercised some downward pressure on the used market prices for the Pro¹...

It could be that an antenna is inactive somehow, perhaps a plug not inserted, or a cable broken? You can explicitly limit the bands you will allow it to use. e.g. by: Settings ► Network and Internet ► Mobil Network ► Preferred network type ► and then select a suitable one (without LTE) to test.

I was unaware. Looking at the very round number reached, I guess they just bumped the 100 to 150

I think the first user tried to scam me or something as I recieved emails claiming that payment was made and that I should ship it, but nothing showed up on eBay or Paypal accounts. Then the user was de-registered.

Actually highest bidder couldn't follow through on the payment and is now de-registered as an eBay user. Contacted second highest bidder on eBay messages but if that person doesn't check their eBay account I want to make that person aware of it here.

Sooo if I just now ordered one I shouldn't get my hopes up?
