  2. Tony, just so you know, this is a user to user forum. Will try and invoke @Erikto help, but messages here are not necessarily seen by the FxTec folks.

  3. I've always only used Linux for flashing (fastboot as well as adb). In Debian (and probably Ubuntu, too), do: sudo apt install adb fastboot and you should have everything you need ...

  4. Of course! Have a look here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/android#Flashing So there is fastboot for linux. The rest should be the same!

  5. Here are the instructions for restoring to stock. And here is an invite to the unoficial Discord for FxTec. A lot of good people there to talk to: https://discord.com/invite/pfUkxQ9

  6. I haven't found much with regard to independent reviews on the net and the company seems to be quite new, but from what I see there (including the feedback on Play Store for the accompanying app), it looks very, very promising. It's basically kind of a USB stick that sits between the charger and the phone, talking to a dedicated app on the phone, stopping the charge at a user-defined limit like 80%. I've just ordered three, and while I can't test it with a Pro¹ because I haven't got mine yet, I'll be giving it a thorough try. Wish I would have had something like that for the last couple o

  7. https://download.lineage.microg.org/pro1/ ? Note that I have never used the MicroG-Port of LineageOS, so I cannot help further if you run into troubles ...

  8. I've also noted that, unfortunately, the way "F(x)tec" is spelled (and potentially also the superscript 1 in "Pro¹" if a seller would type it that way) makes it difficult for a potential buyer to even find existing offers in an ebay search. The problem most probably is that brackets have a special function in the search box (enabling an "or" conjunction), and it seems to me they aren't even honored as just being bracket characters if set in quotes, like "F(x)tec".

  9. Someone else will have to answer. I've only done fastboot on Windows, but I'd be very surprised if you can't. Hopefully one of the Linux folks will be along.

  11. I have heard a lot of surprise also apply to UK residents when they notice the TAX / VAT and additional customs handling fee. So it is a two-way problem...

  12. Being in the UK does severely limit your target audience as basically everyone outside it would pay import duties as of januari...

  13. Mine came stock with android 9, but I replaced it a few days later with LOS 17.1 Sideloaded the Gaaps as others have said. Only issues I've run into is instore google pay no longer works (supposedely I can flash Magik and root to get it to work, but I haven't yet). BOA and other banking apps are behaving as are other google apps.

  14. Camera is fine, its no Pixel. Android 9 stock did the device a huge disservice. I replaced it with LOS 17.1 after a few days. Camera, focus and other things work great with LOS.

  15. Well it is unfortunately not hard to believe. Fxtec screwed up in this point multiple times. They had no system to send the devices out sorted by the date of the order, it was more or less random when you got your device. They sent devices to resellers before preorders where done and so on. But stay strong guys, the phone is worth it!

  17. Still it's somewhat unfair that they are shipping those pre-christmas perks when they still have customers waiting over 9 months for theirs. Even if they start shipping the Xs in March I'm expecting people, including myself, to still be waiting for them next christmas.

  18. Hi Support, It's been 12 weeks since I asked for a refund and 8 weeks since I was told it would take a week to refund Order #55435. I think it's a great product but I wanted a new phone 8 months ago and I needed a new phone 3 months ago. Please refund Order #55435 as you said you would. Thanks.

  19. That hope has not been justified... My Z3 Play was dead this morning after the charging level still had been at 70% when I went to bed last night. Quick-Charged back from what seemed to be zero to 100% within a few minutes, it booted up, but dropped dead again shortly after disconnecting, only showing the charging symbol again. Now, with my mixed experience with the local repair shops around here, it very much looks like I need to buy a second substitute phone to bridge the time between my first-ever non-keyboard phone (the original Moto Z that I bought in early 2019, for the Livermorium
