  1. @claude0001 Nice, that looks better than my own franken solution, although it's still going strong. 😀

  2. While an official flip case for the Pro1 would be nice, I do not think that it is strictly necessary. I bought a random flip case for the Huawei P20 Pro (this one), and it is a perfect fit for the Pro1. I cut the required apertures for USB, headphone jack, power, shutter and volume buttons into the soft shell (not using fingerprint). Done.

  3. I have been looking for a phone for some time now, but it seems that the phone market is not geared towards people with my preferences. Clearly i am not the only one since the Fx pro1 was created. It has a lot of what i want, including improved privacy and control in the OS, and a keyboard. One of my favorite phones i owned was the Microsoft Kin Two which had a great slide out keyboard. But it still is missing something that i really want, which is a compact phone option. At 154x73.6 with 6" display, the pro1 has a big foot print (by my standards). Id really prefer something with a 5" sc

  4. I did consider that, but finally decided against, as I did not want to cut a second (large) hole for the camera lenses and flash into the back. Considering my limited craftsman skills and tools available I estimated that would look like sh*t in the end. 😄 Also, I got quite used to using the open flap as a kind of palmrest: I often type with the phone sitting on my knees (like a small laptop). Then, having my palms rest on the flap secures the device from falling off my lap, even while not pressing any keys.

  7. Right, I think the same. I think personnel at support don't really distinguish the display and display frame, but display frame and the top part it is attached to. So I think the right question is not about the "upper part" but about "display frame".

  9. @claude0001does that close fine? I mean a lot of the others need the credit card part removing from the case otherwise it doesn't close properly.

  11. Spotted this for those interested (they very cheeky on the price!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fxtec-Pro1x-Blue-Blau-aus-Indigogo-Campaign-Selten-nur-10-Stk-hergestellt/193942683823?hash=item2d27e280af:g:mnUAAOSwKVBgKZqk

  12. What you want to say, it is not a good Idea to move everything to top left just because iOS did it? Blasphemy! Apple clearly knows how you want to use your phone! Just trust them... Na honestly even with a better UI I would also prefer a 5.3-5.5" device. The pro1 is great but it is not easy to hold in the beginning. I also don't think it would make the keyboard cramped at all, but even easier to reach all the buttons and faster to type. I agree that the sweet spot for that is of course slightly different for everybody, but I think 6" is more on the upper side of the scale. I would guess I h

  13. No way they send you 'just the screen'. Sometimes the people at support power down their brain momentarily. This causes an idiotic response, which triggers panic in the community. FxTec has never sent 'just a screen' to any Pro1 owner. It is always the upper part of the phone. Just the screen refers to the fact you receive half a phone. Choosing which color (colour for my British friends 🙃) indicates a frame around "just the screen". If they were to send you "just a screen" it would involve you prying the old one from its frame, cleaninout glue residue, applying new glue, replacing t

  15. Indeed, have been using something similar for about two years (since the pre production unit). I do recommend turning it around so it open like a Japanese book though, as this both protects the key AND have the flap away with the keyboard open, both handheld and on a table. But would be interesting if someone could do it as a one piece 3D print in a transparent elastic TPU-like material so we could see the display closed, and perhaps have a slightly slimmer case. Optimally enclosing the magets needed for closing case as well as the one for the hal sensor detecting if the lid is closed.
