  1. We send the screen part, not "just the screen" - that cannot be removed without a heatgun, potential damage and it's not something we provide. The screen part that we ship includes the frame around it, so it's very easy to swap. The hinge mechanism is not included, as you don't need that to swap the display.

  2. Just reading the monthly update of PINE64 and although they seem to have found a solution, there is an interesting part inside which seems to a somewhat similar issue like F(x)tec had with SD835, except that it was the most special component of Pro1. The following is a quote PINE64 wrote (source):

  3. I don't see any queries or orders that have ever been raised by the email address matching your community account. Could you PM me the case ID, or ping the email itself that you discussed the refund through?

  4. You mean when you use the official installer for the Pro1: https://devices.ubuntu-touch.io/device/pro1/ it does not work? I have never tried UbuntuTouch up to now. But the Pro1 has been listed as a supported device for quite some time now, and other people here have reported installation to work fine.

  5. Two weeks ain't 💩. Don't worry about that. I forgot it the first time. That phone came back no problems. i am still waiting on my last phone. Delivered July 2020. RMA September 2020. 'Repaired' and shipped January 2021. Got sent back due to missing customs information or whatever. Lost in transit now... DPD doesn't know where it is and FxTex is silent for over a month now. A 'brand' new Pro1, but almost one year old. Again, two weeks are nothing. My first phone was sent in August 2020, got it back last week of January 2021. Just keep your hopes up. I still do.

  6. Two weeks from when you sent it or two weeks since they received? In either case, not a long time. When I sent mine in for screen replacement it took about a month (not counting shipping to and from them (I'm in the US). They did not communicate a lot during that month, however they answered both email queries I made quickly. One, I asked them to confirm they received it (the delivery was made at end of Xmas holiday when I wasn't sure anyone was in office), the other, after a month, I politely asked for a status update. I was told they were getting ready to send it back. Which they did.

  7. It seems to be quite big tolerances for the hinge screws, looked at mine 2 days ago. 1 of the screws where 1.65mm in diameter, the other one 1.78mm Will do an attempt to make new screws to se if that helps.

  8. That may be, but as a customer, I couldn't care less. Sorry for those harsh words, they are not directed at you. It has been a year now, and I hate my Pro1. The only reason I still use it is that "moving" to another phone is a time consuming and cumbersome process. I felt betrayed by Motorola, when they screwed up their mods and dropped the whole thing. I feel even more betrayed by F(x)tec, because I expected them to be closer to the community and care more about us customers. F(x)tec makes me feel naive and stupid for having trusted them. I am glad to hear that you are having a positive

  9. Fxtec has confirmed that you can use external display with Pro1-X on Ubuntu Touch even so that the chip has changed.

  10. It had been 5 weeks since I had last heard from support. They said they were waiting for a shipment, but expected to send my replacement USB port that week. I thought it had been a long time in transit, so I emailed them to ask them for the tracking number. They told me they never sent the USB port, as promised, and were short on parts. Paraphrasing, they said they would send it when they get more parts. Obviously, not very happy about them not sending it, nor the fact they didn't tell me they weren't sending it.
