  1. Hey Guys I recently bought Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It has also a flex mode where it can transform as laptop factor very similar to Pro1. So i have been comparing them and thought to share it with you guys for your comments. Basically the z fold 3 has a very good build quality. it has outer display as a smartphone, but then it can be opened to become tablet mode which is very big display. and it can also sit in an angle to become laptop mode or as its called flex mode. the software side is not the polished yet as most of the apps dont get keyboard or custom control pad

  2. However, it needs to be used very very carefully. Pressing too hard with the pen will scratch the screen permanently. And "too hard" is not as much as many would expect! Not-so-gently pressing with the nail is already enough to cause permanent dents

  4. My original screen became having ghost touches after nearly a year, so I have replaced it but only used double-sided tape for fixing which were too narrow letting the bottom part to start moving a bit by time. At bottom part, there is a ribbon cable coming from the display itself to the back side. So my second screen became also faulty after a few months but in a bit different way. There touch function was not affected but sometimes my display has started became brighter and brighter to white colour, but turning the display on and off has helped. Later, it has occasionally started dev

  5. I dunno about the X but the OG Pro1 still holds up very well imo (but that has the stronger SD835 in it). I have been using it for a good 1.5 year now and it's still quite snappy. I just hate that stock is neglected and forgotten but maybe one day I'll move on to Lineage.

  6. Opened the display up (removed the 5 screws on the back and pried open. Everything looked good as far as I could see. Cable loked new, connections solid, clean as a whistle in there (why are whistles clean? I would think they'd be germy πŸ˜‰ ) One curious thing. When I went to re-screw, the top left (landscape) screw hole was somehow magnetized. It kept repelling the screw. I got out one of my replacement screws from China thinking it was the screw that had become magnetized, but that screw was repelled to. I did finally fight it in and screwed it down, but I don't remember anything l

  7. Thanks for sharing this. Very interesting, in particular your typing experience with the fold3. I was not so sure about it. Interesting that the size of the screen is nearly the same when the virtual keyboard is on use on the fold3. The price difference between the two devices is also considerable, fold 3 is nearly double where I am based. Fold 3 has also s-pen capacity.

  8. I can definately see the benefits of samsungs folded variants versus a tablet or ordinary slab. And clearly using half for a fake keyboard is likely to work much better with android than a fake keyboard on a slab. But that said I see two drawbacks. Primarily that it isn't a keyboard with real keys, and secondary that the surface will be prone for scratches, as we can not have both hard and bendable with currently known materials. So I see it as the optimal device for those that do some typing and still also want a large screen for other stuff. But not ideal for those that do a lot of

  9. The only place official updates will happen is the IGG updates because the store won't have stock to ship before they are shipped to IGG backers. The November update, when it comes, will either say the are ready to begin production and shipping, or it will provide the latest delay. πŸ™‚

  10. A few months back me phone just went pitch black in my hand. Nothing triggered any reaction. No button and also no charger. So I contacted support for help. It took a while until they answered me. But they offered me help to repair it myself. Not really keen to try any parcel service during brexit with a phone still holding a decent amount of personal data, I gladly took that offer. They hinted me at the battery and the USB-Board. My skills in electronics and manual labor are... well let's say I am a programmer πŸ˜‰ But the phone is really really easy to disassemble, I was able to do it w

  11. There were people waiting for Pro1 general availability... they are still waiting. I think pre-ordrer is all we will get. But who knows maybe F(x)tec is making plans to pump out larger volumes.

  12. If you order now I guess you could hope to get it in a year at best, more likely winter 2022. They still need to show finished prototypes and start production. Then they need to ship to customers who ordered the Pro1, some years ago, and never got it. Then they need to ship to all the Pro1X buyers, then you. Though in terms of volume they don't need to produce that much really. Looks like they sold about 1500 units on IGG. So I guess with 3000 units they could easily complete all their orders. Much depends on how fast they can produce them really. I doubt they will be able to produce more than

  13. Hello, have anyone had any success sending their phone back to warranty? I had multiple issues with my phone all up until it just went blank at one point when I was commuting and using Waze. After contacting the support I got the following address: ** Private employee address hidden ** I sent the phone there (from Estonia) and haven't heard anything back. Its been already 5-6 weeks. I tried responding to the original email and writing a new letter, but just getting radio silence. Any help what to do?
