  1. @dreamflasher I'm afraid it wasn't you who adjusted those margins, that's how those displays come from the manufacturer these days. It's an internal predefined minimum for those margins, to which Android's margin settings can only add, they cannot substract. And non-stock ROMs have no way to reset them to the Pro1's defaults. To date, with current custom ROMs the only way to get the original margins back is is to flash stock Android, then flash your preferred custom ROM. There's a long thread about it:

  2. In that thread already linked above, @Zahkc and @order#10248 explained how the a/b partitioning scheme of the (original) Pro1 can be used for dual-booting UbuntuTouch and LineageOS. As the procedure is pretty generic, I suspect this might work with any a/b device. The major usability issue I see with such a setup (without ever trying it out) is that upgrades -- necessarily -- must be tricky, and that data sharing between the two OS's can be cumbersome as both use app confinement and fight about file ownerships. If your use case has changed toward requiring Android compatibility, I wo

  4. While it's not directly related to LineageOS, I thought I might ask here as well, as it might be something that can be added: You can read more details about my issue here: Basically, I bought replacement screens from China from multiple vendors. They work fine, but they don't react to touches on the edge of the screen. I first thought the touchscreen is unresponsive - but that's not it: when I enable the function in the developer mode that shows the coordinates and draws your touches on the screen, I noticed that I can slide to the edge of the screen without any issues and 100

  7. I ordered this: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32956500815.html and it works perfectly. Arrived within 10 days, I found it challenging to remove the old display, because it was broken and the glue on the top edge was so sticky that the display tore apart – and I needed a cutter to remove the remaining glass and glue. Other difficulty: I received 4 glue stripes to attach the new display, and I put two at both sides first – and that didn't work at all. Somehow most of the display actually does not touch the underlying case. It's holding well with two stripes at the bottom and the top but nothing

  10. Now that the first deliveries of the Pro1-X might be only a few weeks away, I was wondering if anyone who reads this forum has any more information about dual booting on the Pro1-X? I am an early backer and asked for Ubuntu Touch to be pre-installed, but my requirements have changed since then. I will need to reflash to Lineage, but if a viable multi-boot option is on the way I would go down that route instead. P.S. Perhaps someone could tag this thread with the "dual-boot" tag?

  12. Hi Defiant Very short version - the Pro1-X was supposed to be a special edition Pro1 in a blue case but they couldn't get the processor chip so had to completely redesign it; the name has not changed. On the Indiegogo campaign you can still choose QWERTZ so it seems strange that you can't on their site. Production finally started this week and shipping isn't due to start mid-late May so you could e-mail them and probably get the site fixed before then, or take the small risk and back it on IGG (crowdfunding does not guarantee you get what you "buy" though this late it is very unlikel

  13. Thanks - the screen was fine. I had 20 of those, so I could test a few πŸ˜‰ But an update: A fellow member sent me the instructions and files he received from F(X)Tec - and it worked fine! And the best thing is: It's really painless if you have a rooted OS. No debug firmware needed, no reflash, no wiping of data. Just one single APK, a firmware file and access via adb to change some permissions for the touchscreen driver files. So if anyone has the same issues: With a rooted OS, it takes 2 minutes to fix it πŸ˜„
